He probably saw him not being able to cut a poisoned and weakened Gyutaro before saving him. Why did he think a recovering Gyutaro would be easier to cut when he stabbed him and asked Tanjiro to jump and behead him?

That bothered me even back then when I read the manga. The episode probably had the best animation that I've ever seen but that wasn't that smart, coming from a guy who could read Gyutaros attack like a music savant.

Maybe cuz he thought that they shouldn't miss any chance to behead him... n Uzui was already having difficulty holding Gyutarou back with only one arm....
Or maybe just to make the situation tense n tease Tanjiro new power up...
I dunno, there're many things you can question about at this point...

Yeah, the world would be dark without Light...
but without L, the world would just be a Word...

Yeah by FAR the best Animation I've ever seen in any episode. It sucks because I REALLY want S3/4 to be 20ish episodes because I feel like there have been some pacing issues with this season that I didn't feel the same for S1. But now they're spending $80,000 per episode (probably more for this episode)and if they went back to 20ish then the budget would be down and we don't want it to have worse animations, they set a WAY too high Bar.

As far as the question, I think it's just because he recognized Tanjiro even injured was the strongest of the three and he KNEW he couldn't beat him alone. And he also knew that those two were mangled and neither one could beat Daki but if they could beat Gyutaro they could probably beat Daki afterwards. Also remember that Tanjiro earned a TON of respect and appreciation from Tengen when he saved his wife(probably the most special one to him) from certain death. It was a BIG gamble, but it was all or nothing and he was out of options, they had to win or die and he played the cards he had.

He didn't think that. Tengen restraint Gyutaro after being able to read his moves, he had one arm so he couldn't proceed to behead him. The only one available was Tanjiro, it doesn't matter if the probability of cutting his head was high or low. It was basically a gamble, their last resort.

In the Manga the score was a created by ubyashiki to analyse how to defeat the demon and According to tengens score tanjiro was the one who was able to cut his head idk y they didnt include this in anime

It's not like Tengen had the luxury to choose!

The manga narration says that while Tengen can hold Gyutaro, he can't go for the head with only one arm. So he just restrains him instead and leaves the beheading part to Tanjiro

Wjhat are you talking about, in the manga the score stuffs is Uzui unique ability (like Tanjirou smell). Tengen rely on Tanjirou becuase he only have 1 hand left, is the only one who could immobilize Gyutaro and Tanjirou is the only one there.

yeah they leave some things out which annoys me, like how in Mugen Train they didn't put in how tuberculosis kid took some of Tanjiro's "kindness" when he was in his subconscious. They added it in in the episode version but they didn't explain that it was his "kindness"

It's easy. He had no way to cut off his head. If he had both hands, he would have dealt with himself, but weakened by the poison and, most importantly, with one hand that he already had occupied with holding the sword, he would not be able to deal with it himself. Tanjiro happened to be around so he got the job.

what? wth? Nothing like this was in the manga. Tengen mastered this technique himself. There was no Ubuyashiki xD

what else could he have done? there were no other options after losing one hand, one eye, not to mention getting poisioned at the very beginning of the fight....it's is not like several hashiras were present there so Tengen asked Tanjiro to attack Gyutaro as their last option
