I dunno what this means, final arc I suppose?

This is what the tweet says:

"D. Gray-man" by Hoshino Katsura is drawing close to its story "main point" in upcoming Jump SQ Rise Summer 2021 issue out July 29, 2021 https://twitter.com/MangaMoguraRE/status/1386803688208015364?s=19

Far from being in the final arc... It was bad phrased, but we're reaching the end of a flash-back in a few chapters, which are going to explain a lot about the biggest mystery of the manga, and it will give a direction for what's coming. Doesn't mean it's going to end, nor 'the previous 239 chapters were just a prologue' like I've seen in the answers to this tweet...
There are a lot of plot points that we, and the characters don't understand tho, but this one is probably the biggest one. It's not as easy to understand as in the first volumes. Since 2-3 volumes the story has evolved A LOT.

Saddly everyone is taking the info from Mogura's tweet, but don't know where its from (at least I don't, proabbly a sentence in this Jump Square Rise's Spring issue), and don't understand it... It's the bush telegraph.

I mean it's not guaranteed everything is gonna end up being explained, it could easily end before that. And even if we are hypothetically going into the final arc it could be a very long final arc that is able to cover everything. You never know. So just because it doesn't feel like it's close to the end doesn't mean much.

I'm a fan since 12-13 years ago and it's one of my first manga... The serialisation rythme being like that isn't new, we had a 2.5 years old hiatus, and Katsura Hoshino said she was at like 60% of her story in an interview published less than 5 years ago... If I say that it isn't going to end soon, it is because I know the manga by heart. Trust me, they could have ended it a long time ago. There isn't any 'garantee' of anything, but if you read what other fans say, being on Twitter, reddit, or youtube, none believes that it is ending soon. We all agree that it was bad phrased and nothing more. Having read chapter 240, I know what it means. D.Gray-Man is going to explain to us one of the major plot mysteries (whitout it, there wouldn't even be a story to start with), by so closing to the end of an arc, major to what's coming next. But by solving questions we have, it brings more confusion to be cleared later. There still is a lot to tell. Don't understimate Hoshino's ability to make up a good story.

Alright I'll take your word for it, I haven't read the last like 6? Chapters because it's hard for me to remember everything that's going on between chapters. So I'll assume you're more educated then me on this.

Even if the take this as completely true, I don't think "main point" and "final" are synonyms. This could very well just mean a big story beat that leads into the third act overall.

It's been years but I faintly remember Hoshino saying that D.Gray-man was about halfway done and given that the manga releases just 4 times a year not a lot has happened since then.

Haven't touch DGM since 5 years hoping that I would have a huge backlog reads, but oftentimes reality ends up 180 of what we expect. The hiatus/slow release looks like it'll persist. I think at some point, Hoshino will just finish it haphazardly regardless of whether she accomplished the whole storyline she had planned.

I don't think this will ever end sadly.
