And he will most likely just get a fine like others do.

I meant actual criminal punishment is lenient.
act age author currently charged with up to 10 years in prison. for groping middle schooler breast on the street.

Big difference between facing up to and actually getting it. i've seen too many cases here just end up with financial punishment even though they've been facing jail time lol

If I was a fan of the series I would stop reading because it's not the original vision from the author, in my eyes I'm reading fan fic.

I'd actually prefer to read this if it became the "fan fic", rather then think about this story as a manga about underaged girls, that was made by the pedophile.

It looks like Act-Age manga has been selling better ever since the author was arrested. Many bookstores' managers and readers in Japan who went to buy for collection purpose reported that most of volumes are currently out of stock.

Yes,its called the "Scandal effect" it happens every time something like this occur.
Even 2 years ago when the LN "Nidome no Jinsei" was cancelled due to the controversy between China and Japan, had a little moment of boost sales.
Its a normal thing but still the whole problem about the cancellation remain.
Also, this controversy is much bigger than what happened with the other two mangaka and shonen jump has to be careful on how to move from now on because all eyes are on them in this moment.

I really, really, REALLY feel bad for both artist and the victims, holy shit, i hope he rots in jail.
The artist is going to take the burden, she DEFINITELY needs another chance in Jump, i'll read any manga she draws, even if it has a bad story. A-A's manga sales income should be Shiro's and the victims' only.

because the law he charged is much more severe than shimabokuro or watsuki. big difference there. and as other explained, what those 2 doing was not that big of offense, by japan standard.

I'm not talking about compared to other the other two, I know their crime was different and the rules are different compared to having child pornography and actually doing something with underage people. But people still get off lightly here even when admitting to stuff like that lol.

Agreed. It seems like Japan is pretty lenient on most non-violent crimes. In this case, it sounds more like the writer will get some small fine or whatever but lose some face in his career. I'm not sure he can really bounce back given his lack of status but time will tell.

His career is pretty much dead either way, but yeah, his sentence will probably be like other people who have committed the same type of crime, a simple on the wrist.

Act-Age serialisation has ended, gutted for Usazaki sensei, wish her all the best in the future, and if I ever want to read Act-Age it will be for her sake!

So I'm assuming this most likely won't get an anime adaptation then

I mean the manga would be continued after this is almost impossible let alone getting anime adaptation lol..

I have to assume he was under the influence because knowing his status in making a popular manga, and now he just screwed himself over, but hey I don’t have any pity for child molesters. I was planning on possibly reading this manga, but now that I know it’ll never be finished so I’m just never gonna start it up

I quite liked this manga and I thought it was unique compared to many I've read in general. It sucks that the manga's going to be cancelled. Not a big fan of the fact he did that to somebody, but ah well.

With his crime in mind, I looked at the synopsis of Act-age and thought it was a some prostitution NTR mindbreak doujin

I just hope the artist will be able to find a new work soon or make her own manga. Even though I never read this I think the artwork looks pretty.
