Having read the first 3 volumes, I'd say it's pretty damn great, not exaggerating but Mecha genre are a bit lackluster, but it's not the case with 86. It has high potential, and first 3 volumes , which are gonna likely adapted as 12 or 13 episodes series, if done well could be great,

I've heard that the LN is selling well, so I hope for a good adaptation with a middle-tier studio. I don't think Bones or IG were needed but if it could be better than most of LN..

Being produced by Aniplex, whose other Dengeki Bunko adaptations are SAO and Mahouka, so good chance of two cour. Just praying that the adaptation gets staff who pace it well. Hopefully get the side stories adapted too so the side characters get more development.

Yeah, I agree. We probably ought to be a little more optimistic here, given their rise in recent years.

I fear this might reduce the chances for a 2 cour or more though since A-1 Pictures might be a tad bit busy with the other projects slated for the year... But hopefully not.

Let's just hope A -1 Pictures give their best to the anime adaptation. Source material is great, if they follow it there are high chances of anime adaptation being successful, and hoping it's a 2 cour series

So excited for this, feel like this has the potential to be a big anime. I've read up to the first three novels and can't wait for the next couple to be translated. The first arc subtly reminds me of the first half (the good part) of Darling in the Franxx. I pray every night that A1 can deliver.

I have read the first 4 volumes and tbh I am loving it so far. Volume 1 and 4 were absolutely amazing and while 2 and 3 aren't on the same scale they were absolutely necessary.

I like that this has gotten an adaptation but just looking at the cover art is making me... lose hope. I know A-1 should be "repairing" themselves but... idk I guess we can just hope they don't fuck up this amazing story and their characters. I won't be expecting a lot of this mid-tier studio but I hope they nail the mecha designes as the original artist did. There are a lot of intense emotion heavy situations and it will be amazing to see them animated correctly.

I’m so so so excited for this anime :D I read the first 3 volumes of the LN, waiting for volumes 5, 6 etc to be available in English so I can one shot buy all the LN volumes to read. Never bought LN or manga before but for this series I will (*´▽`*) I loved this from the moment I read chapter 1 of the manga when it was newly updated, so sad that the translations and scanalation for the manga has stopped at chapter 4 thou T-T I really wished it would be picked up again. But hey, there’s the anime coming out soon so I’m really very very excited, I hope that they would do a good job with the animations, pacing and expression of the storyline :D I know I probably can’t expect the world from a mid tier studio but I really hope they would put in their best efforts and do a good job. I would be very happy :D

Hope there will be 24 episodes yet is unlikely, 12-13 episodes is only enough for the first volume and run through the battlefield couldn't be covered in a first season. A two part movie series could work but thats only if the anime does very well
