| Why nobody is talking about this ??? I'm pretty sure a lot of Arabs and Latinos loved this show. Unfortunately, it is not popular among English fans probably because it never got eng dub, and the eng sub was made very recently. I'm hoping this will be full adaptation with over 100 episodes. This one of the best anime I've seen when I was child. The original TV anime adapted 88 chapters out of 349 chapters. And final episode was non-canon original ending that did not follow the manga. If the new anime has same slow pace as the old one then they will need 182 episodes for full adaption. But I think they can manage full adaptation with around ~130 episodes because original one is little slow paced. |
| I'm an arab and I couldn't agree more, I don't remember the last time I was as hyped for a remake I'm not familiar with the DQ games either but the 90s anime is such an important part of our childhood Also, not just arabs and latinos, the japanese audience sounds just as hyped #ダイの大冒険 (Dai no daibōken) Hashtag has made it to the Japanese trend after the announcement |

| OMG, i can't believe this is real!!! i just got a random recommendation vid on youtube for the game.. came here to check if there is a Remake & BAM... HELL YEAH! This is my childhood right there i was what 5-6 years old when i watched the 90s anime then read the manga when i was 15-16.. now i'm 28 😭 can't explain what i'm feeling right now... | The hype is real. The nostalgia is real. I have lots of fond memories of this show as a child. I read the manga recently and I have that the whole thing seemed to childish to me now. But nevermind, definitely watching this. |
| Personally, I wouldn't be too hyped for this. As a Dragon Quest story, it probably has the most notable, frequent character developments in the series (arguably more than any other DQ games I played like V, VIII, XI), but it sticks to familiar shonen tropes and familiar character archetypes so closely throughout the story that I felt like I was going through the motions. I tried giving the manga a chance and managed to only go slightly more than halfway through, and at some point, I just gave up and concluded that the story wasn't gonna change to an interesting direction. You're gonna get an extremely basic shonen story, unless Toei decides to change things and make creative liberties, which I doubt will happen. |
