| So I binge watch the EP01-3 of the anime and while I find the whole premise about the worldbuilding/knowledge what to do when you're surrounded interesting, I don't particularly find the fanservice juicy enough as I would have pictured it. Any of you have the same similar vibe? Well while it had some of it I just find it quite vanilla... But I find the anime quite comfy and all... |

It's fine, especially since it hasn't gone the route of boring panning shots while the girls scream sexually that last way too long, at least not yet. | The survival aspect is already enough to keep me intrigued, the funny lewd scenes just gives it that additional charm. I like it this way as the ecchi scenes are integrated well and doesn't distract you from the story unlike Highschool of the Dead. |

I don't understand how anyone would think that's entertaining when you can't see anything that's going on. Or imagine the girls randomly becoming delusional(usually drunk) and doing lewd stuff with each other as in typical ecchi. Makes no sense in a survival situation where you are fatigued 24/7 and should have no libido to even attempt it. See where I'm getting at here? |

I also brought fanservice up because this thread is about fanservice being good enough or not. Also even if there's no 'complex' plot as you like to point out, I'm simply explaining that fanservice can still be distracting. So rather it has a intricate plot or not, it doesn't matter since fanservice is distracting in excess and I think the fanservice here is perfectly balanced. So you asking "what story?" really doesn't change anything. |

The fan-service is just the obligatory thing to sell the manga and to make it possible to give some survival knowledge to the horny teenagers. I don't think he wrote this manga thinking : "I'll do an ecchi manga", I thinkg he thought "I'll do a manga about survival but to sell it, I'll have to put some school-girls and fan-service in it". | Pretty sure the whole idea of having schoolgirls and fanservice IS to make it sell. The survival genre alone might have had worked, but hardly popular. Slap cute girls and it'll sell a lot more. That is the likely reason why the author made this decision. No going to say it is the truth, but given how low priority fanservice have in this series, it is a very likely possibility. Far fewer people would have watched Girls und Panzer and highschool fleet if it wasn't for the girls. We can look at other realistic military series with little to no waifus perform way worse. Same reason for that dumbbell anime. No reason why any of these anime have to be all girls other than fanservice. There could of been a few males in the cast. |

Well, girls and panzer has no usual "fan-service" in the sense that it is fan-service for those who like old ww2 tank and gears. The girls are there to make it completely "silly/funny". Most of them have no boobs, there's no stupid "underwear-showing" ... It's precisely the contrast between "real killing tools of war" and "cute girls doing friendly game/ sport competition with them" that makes it great. Please, don't compare "girls and panzer" masterpiece with "sounan desu ka", thank you :) PS : it's true that in both cases, the girls brings "something" to the story, but it is not at all on the same "level". |

| I liked it how it was. It doesn't have to be Ecchi for me. The 'comedy' was good too. Fanservice is a bonus. |
