Half of Disney animation's framerate. Holy crap. They went all out with rotoscoping. I almost thought it was CGI until I noticed the shadows are not CGI-esque at all. |

| This ED really caught me off guard, the way it introduced itself was a total bamboozle XD "Oh look, more episode, SYKE! it's an awesome as fuck ED sequence!" It is pretty clear to me it's either live action rotoscoped or 3d animation rotoscoped. Also, it's not just the great animation, the vocals were very good as well, emotions portrayed very clearly with every line. Super whimsical and i love it X3 I want to see entire anime animated this way, it's so life-like and immersive. They don't take this shit lightly... I've watched it several times already. |

It's when anime still use 8fps even for dancing stuff that it's painful on the eyes, especially when direct 3d insets are used. Also, even if they rotoscoped a 3d modeled dance, that dance would have been first mocapped, because 99% of digitally created motions are not quite natural looking and fit in that uncanny valley (though with examples like arpeggio, kemono friends, even the current kotobuki, it's pretty clear the bad and overly simplistic non-smoothed animations that move more like humanoid robots than humans). Edit: Yeah looking at it frame by frame, it's pretty obviously rotoscoped, every frame is clearly hand drawn, there are minor fluctuations in lines drawn every frame. Also judging by the physics of her hair and her skirt, it may be 3d animation physics (having a simpler video reference to rotoscope would surely make the job easier, and allow better consistency between frames, but i wouldn't take my word for 100% on that one. |

| The song itself is very addicting. Added with cute dance from Chika, make it more sweet. I don't skipped this one because I've done that mistake in the previous episode's ED (which is also great), and it's a right choice. |

| Damn, that retroscoping was on-point though! It, as in the dance moving choreographies, just felt so natural and real, it really was an intriguing watch and the singing was really soothing to listen to too! It’s very pleasing to see A-1 Pictures treating this project with such care and love, hopefully it’ll retain throughout the season and not just end there, meaning more damn seasons of this amazing series! |
