Those were the first three I thought of as well. I'm also glad to find someone else who appreciates the Kimi to Boku OST, I especially like the Aoi Shouta insert songs.

If you're a piano/jazz fan you should definitely move Kids on the Slope up your short-list though.

Oh yes! I've yet to hear anyone speak of the Kimi to Boku OST. I'm a big fan of the Aoi Shouta songs as well. Tomorrow is by far my favorite on the soundtrack. I love all the different renditions. Nice choice!

I'll keep that in mind! Thanks :D

Hard to name the best, as music is subjective, but here's my list of favorites:

Anything Yuki Kaijura has ever done, my favorites being Madoka Magica and Fate/Zero.

Cowboy Bebop, or anything else by Yoko Kanno for that matter (Sakamichi no Apollon was awesome, too).

Any of Joe Hisaishi's work with Studio Ghibli.

Mushishi, Made in Abyss and Violet Evergarden's OSTs are beyond gorgeous, too.

My personal favorite of all time would probably have to be the soundtrack to Kotonoha no Niwa, though. It may come across as an odd choice, but the lone piano just keeps me mesmerized every time I watch it.

Panty & Stockings & Megaloboxes had nice attitude and beats.

Fate/Zero has Kajiura's epic stuff, but her Madoka magica ost is just as good.

Ghost in the Shell SAC has pretty good stuff too.

And Queen's Blade ost was pretty much best thing that anime had.

the most notable one for me is the Kaiji OST

Im really not a big audio/music person so most of the time i dont even think about the music that is playing. The only exceptions are when its extremely awful, or has necessary bangers the shine through due to the cinematography. Kaiji is the ladder.
Its also one of the few shows that i think that if absolutely any element was changed, the whole show would fall apart makinn its ost essential to its existence. At least in its first season

Mitsudomoe, but could be just saying that because it's one of my favourite Anime and I know the tunes of all 27 character songs by heart.

The Western Dub of Street Fighter II The Animation had a cool rock and dance music soundtrack.

Mostly I just listen to Opening and Closing Themes with other shows:
Witchcraft Works, Monster Musume, Lucky Star, Dragon Maid, Ika Musume etc

All weebs creatures of the galaxy, hear this message. Those of you who listen will not be struck by western animation. You will no longer know hunger, nor pain. Your Anime have come to lead you now. Our strength shall serve as a luminous sun toward which all intelligence may blossom. And the impervious shelter beneath which you will prosper. Here are my only the best OST (some associated with my favorite animes for that reason) that i hear all the time, especially for reading manga.
But before that, any Kensuke Ushio and Kevin Penkin OST is guaranteed for you out there :)

For beautiful and sad songs:
NHK ni Youkoso!
Koe no Katachi
Made in Abyss
Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso (perfect to read manga)
Kuzu no Honkai (perfect to read manga)
Zankyou no Terror (perfect to read manga)
3-gatsu no Lion (perfect to read manga)
Hibike! Euphonium
Liz to Aoi Tori

Pumped, hype and action songs (pretty much any shounen animes)
Shingeki no Kyojin
Naruto

Say what you will about Naruto as a show but god damn it put out tens and tens of top tier tracks (whereas most hows would be lucky to have even one top tier track) and it used a selection of instruments in a really unique way that has made its soundtrack completely stand out from any other anime (nobody's ever really replicated its sound). Really in general whilst not necessarily the greatest shows, some of these big mainstream shounen shows get really big budgets that allow them to go all out on crafting great soundtracks as well as getting great OPs/EDs that put them ahead of most other shows in the music department even if there's a lot of better shows in all the other departments.

For me, it would have to be Fate/Apocrypha. Although the anime itself isn't one of the best in the Fate series, it's OST is amazing imo. Savior and Affection are some of my favorites from the show. But La Pucelle is pretty good as well
