So, what do you think about one of the worst endings in an anime? How much did they pay Tenzin to make a cameo? How did Joujin invent viagra? Will Hibiki finally be able to have sex with the ghost of Hachirou? Why the hell have I watched this crap ?

All Joujin wanted was some teenage incest porn, and weaved some bullshit plot for it.

This should have been its own title (or not exist at all) instead of desecrating the Basilisk name by unearthing the original and taking a shit on it. Meaningless characters, fucking incompetent ninjas, anticlimactic, throwaway plot. and not a single good fight. Blasphemy. Not a shred of what made Basilisk good.

As much as I loved the original, this sequel was a bad accident with no survivors. I agree with bisikerim, QuattroVaginas, and shiro_kai - what the hell was this? A waste of 24 episodes is what.

I truly cannot even rate this.

I watched this back when it came out and I just remember it being a lot of supernatural nonsense, while the original was brutal but simple, and it did have some supernatural powers, but was grounded for the most part.

I love how this only has 3 replies, 2 years after it finished airing.
Apparently no one stuck around to see how this pile of dogshite ended.

Shoot first, think never.

When I found out what the premise of the second season is I realised, to go as far as to create something which was not there in the original series (the mc kids) I understood the author might be doing it cause he might need money even though it was clearly forced but as the show went on it I quickly understood this is not a good sequal. The first season regardless of the hate I liked the ending but to bring the fate back again a third time? I'm not even going to address the pacing or story since it's a known fact and I would let it off with a light score but it had to go and sully the original berserk by bringing the original characters and the reason why I liked that show(The powerful romance between Oboro and Gennosuke)? Oboro hates Gennosuke because she fell in love with him? Tenzen LIKED Oboro so he tried to rape her?? Tenzen residing In the old persistent monk bastard??? Fuck whoever made this. A one time story of struggle and bittersweet ending I get but the original concluded with the exact purpose to demolise this fate but to revive the series only to carry the series with the same fate cycle, tarnish the good name that is original basilisk? Unforgivable!!! 3/10

Not the best ending ever. Beyond the constant resurrection shenanigans that were somehow even more ubiquitous in this sequel than the original Basilisk, didn't Joujin already rip "Tenzen" (who was actually supposed to be Tenzen's parasitic brother) out of his body when Hachirou used his Ouka? I'm not sure why Jinjou still managed to revive after that, but at least Hachirou's inexplicable spirit manifestation stopped his last ditch rape attempt by killing him for what may as well be the millionth time.

All that said, I think this anime is better than the previous posts imply. The original Basilisk also had its fair share of uninteresting characters and cheap, handwaved plot conveniences. Character relationships were reasonably developed, it had a good handle on how to make the action dramatic and emotional, and the visuals were decent as well. My main gripe is that it recycled the original series more than it should have, which made it seem uninspired at times. Still, it's a satisfactory anime.

Yeah, this sequel just didn't do it. It tried to be sophisticated but just ended up being a cheap copy of the original series. Didn't expect Hibiki to make it out alive though, that's a welcome change, I suppose.

Anything else though? Nothing really stood out, I pretty much had this in the background while doing my daily kanji drills, xD.

4/10 from here.
