Being able to disable the reviews/forum section of an anime/manga entry would be a nice feature imo. Sometimes you just get really sick of the MAL community and want MAL solely for recording shows/manga and finding new ones.

Just some control like the panel would be nice.

I masturbate to the thought of that feature. (I love it)

I don't see why they need to add a useless feature that can be easily resolved by simply just not looking at it.

P.S. Barely anyone even reads reviews lol. Most people just upvote the reviews with the rating they agree on.

Obviously if it were that easy to "not look at it", OP wouldn't have made this post. Reviews can be distracting when you scroll down and sometimes you can't help but read them when you see a good series you like getting multiple bad reviews. OP had a reasonable request, and I agree with it. If people don't want to see reviews, it should be fine to give them a feature to remove them. Now, I'm not sure how complicated that would be for staff to add in to the site, but I think it's worth a try at least.

If you install the 'Stylish' browser-plugin:
Firefox
Chrome

And then install the following style sheet:
Style Sheet

Your problem will be solved I guess.

I created this sheet for you guys so you don't have to look at these sections anymore. It keeps the review and forum section on anime and manga pages (MAL exclusive) from displaying. Simply turn the sheet on and off via the Stylish plugin whenever you like. A preview of the result can be seen on the above mentioned style sheet page.

For uBlock Origin, add this rule

myanimelist.net##div.borderDark

After "Not Helpful" button was removed, user reviews simply became a useless and annoying eyesore when trying to find similar anime.

Such a relatable feeling. Sometimes I be watching like an underground Anime movie or show, which I really loved and treasured perhaps cause of nostalgia or cause I'm glad I stumbled into it. Then I go onto its MAL page to check if there's any recommendations, but before that, I have go past the reviews sections FULL of red Not Recommended shit. And these guys be bashing the Anime hard lmao. They're the strictest Anime Police, spitting on anything that isn't a 9 or 10 highly acclaimed media. You click on their profile, 90% chance their favourites are like Berserk, FMAB, Cowboy Bepop etc lmao. Like if they're here to hate on everything below that and get popular reviews on their bashing, you kinda wish these guys didn't find out about the stuff you loved. Just a little pet peeve of mine. But at least it isn't as bad as Letterboxd reviews.

Reviews help people who want to read the series get a feel for what that certain series will be like. You can't just take that away from people. If you don't like someone's review because they said something you don't agree on, then you should grow up. If you really don't like that person's review, then make one yourself about all the things you love or hate about the series. Another solution would be not to look at the reviews. I understand that the review section can be big sometimes, but you can scroll past this. We shouldn’t eliminate the review section solely based on negative reviews that some people dislike.
"When clouds appear, wise men put on their cloaks;
When great leaves fall, the winter is at hand;
When the sun sets, who doth not look for night?
Untimely storms make men expect a dearth."

Only 3 reviews are displayed without clicking on show all, it shouldn't be that hard to ignore them if you are not interested in the reviews. You are not forced to read them. You won't even see them straight away, you'll have to scroll down to see them unless you click on the Reviews button. I fail to see how this would be a necessary feature.
