I think 95/2005 era has a lot of the best animes of the history, but I can't say if it's the "best" objetively talking, probably in this aspect the 70/80 would be the best.

2006-2009. Haruhi was the peak of anime. (Of course, there were lots of other good shows in that time, too)

1995-1998. Evangelion, Utena and Lain all within such a short space of time? Oh, if only something similar could happen again.

Certainly mid 90s to early 2000s, because of so many good titles to watch, like Cyber Formula, Initial D, early Conan shows (not like i mean today ones are bad), Inuyasha, and some others. Those are because of the story.

Then comes 2012-14, pretty much all good animes are there.

And some shows from 16-17, but sadly most are disappointing.
Life isn't as fun and easy as anime.
Watch anime to bring that fun!!

09-12 (pre AoT era?)... that's when I spend the most time watching anime,so a lot of my favourite is from that time, my taste is formed at that time... so it is the beat era for me.
harem anime is super popular. The art improved a lot compared to the 2000s.

Personally, I really liked the 2012 era. All of the animes from that year are pretty good.

Also the 2006 era was good too. The classics came out of that year.

2012 – 2015 where most of my favorite shows came out. It was also the time I started watching Anime so these years will always remain special to me.

2006 - 2010. I have to count 4 years for this one for my personal taste.

Best era for the industry though was 2000 - 2005 regarding NA sales and the industry expanding overseas from japan. This was the era where bandai was huge and TV broadcast of anime was at an all time high.

My top 3 stretches of anime would be 1995-2000, 2006-2009, and 2011.
That is not to say those times didn't have bad anime, or that there isn't great anime from any time period.

The "Golden Age" of anime imo is 2006-2008. Many shows in that short time were total gamechangers for the industry and the community.

There isn't really a "Best Era of Anime" fairly typically, if you look back, every year has a handful of alright stuff, 1~2 good things, and a whole lotta garbo. The only change, again if you track the industry, is that studios have DRAMATICALLY increased how many series get produced annually. It's easy to look back on a year or two and think "That's the era!" , but I've found if you weigh it against many of the other series running at the same time, the overall industry looks similar to today's.

The late 90s and early 00s since I see them as something of a renaissance period due to the amount of freedom allotted to writers and directors at the time. We can thank the success of Eva for that.

I started around 2010 so maybe 2010-2013? I think those were good years to get into anime.

I'd say around the end of the 80's toward the 2000's had some serious jewels: Gunbuster, NGE, Cowboy Bebop, DBZ, Trigun, Rurouni Kenshin, Sailor Moon and so much more, but it's truly hard to pinpoint the best era for animes, considering that what is considered best is always correlated to a subjective opinion..

2006-2010 also had great stuff: FMA Brotherhood, Gurren Lagan, Toradora, Code Geass, Death Note, Fairy Tail , Steins;Gate and once again, so much more.

Three years - 2011, 2012 and 2013. In 2011
I became a seasonal watcher and began rating anime, I also finally had a use for MAL after two years of having an account, but never using it. Mirai Nikki was the first anime I rated with the score of 9/10.

In 2012 I saw both an original (to me) concept in an anime - "Btoom". I also found an anime I considered to be the most beautiful up until that moment - "Zetsuen no Tempest". For the first time a manga I had read got an adaptation - "Another". Not to mention the terms Isekai and Chuunibyou became popular.

Finally in 2013 I came across an anime that almost became my number one of the decade, and overall best series, since I started watching anime "Shingeki no Kyoujin". I was enoumoured with it and for the next two years I was singing its praises. Also the same year came out an anime that I was surprised to enjoy as much as I did "White album 2", I usually didn't care for music anime until I watched it.

I also got continuations of anime I liked and watched in the 2000s:
Fate Zero, Shakugan no Shana III, Zero no Tsukaima.

None, they all suck equally and we just refuse to accept that the majority of anime has always been trash.
