Myoga offers Inuyasha a method so that he can gain the power to break barriers, which involves defeating and absorbing the blood of a bat demon known for creating impenetrable barriers. Unfortunately, the task requires killing Shiori, an innocent child and half-demon like Inuyasha.

There's just no way Inuyasha will kill the girl. Even if I hadn't seen this series already before once, I know he wouldn't sink that low.

Maybe there is a way for Inuyasha to gain the power by killing the girls grandfather instead if Shiori renounces her duty as a guardian.

You know, in the end, she still sold her daughter to a creepy and clearly untrustable old bat :|
I know it probably wouldn't have worked, but I would have tried to flee first...

Anyway, there is no way that InuYasha could bring himself to kill that little girl. And as I understood it, that old bat also have the blood they need no? Then why not just kill that old fuck?

OMG that flashback InuYasha had was so cute, the one where he remembered a difficult part of his childhood, running away from demons and hiding under the cliff. That was soooo cute!! I enjoyed seeing InuYasha as a little kid because I got to glimpse his troubled past as a half demon. Makes me feel for him and understand why InuYasha is the way he is-- always acting tough.
He grew up having no choice but to be tough. No wonder he's always so hard on Shippo. Shippo at least is a full demon who has his group of Miroku, Sango, and Kagome to protect him. Inuyasha grew up all alone, having to face the reality of being a half demon by himself. He just wants Shippo to be strong.
Ahh my respect for InuYasha just shot up <3 I wish Kagome could be a little more respectful towards him, instead of abusing that "sit" necklace whenever she just feels slightly annoyed. InuYasha deserves more gentleness :(

A mixed bag. The whole "go off and kill demons to make your sword stronger" plot was too Medival Fantasy for me, but the parts about how Inuyasha has to also kill a young half-demon girl who was ostracized for being half-demon, as well as the flashbacks to young Inuyasha being ostracized for the same reason, were very emotional.

Woah killing Shiori to gain power seems a bit too cruel, sounds like something Naruku would do.

inuyasha knows the life of half demon too much to kill shiori.

except inuyasha's part the story is pretty plain...

I'd like to think Inuyasha will develop further into the series, no need to call it void of it given we're not even half way into the series.

The moment Inuyasha learned the wind scar, it immediately became less strong. Before almost no one used to be able to withstand it, now it's pretty much every bigger demon they meet lol

Those bat demons are freaking terrifying. Especially the giant grandpa bat.
