 ^ ❤️ In regards to the first half… Up until this point, a lot of people have really seemed to like Ran, but the character (along with most of the others) has been pretty damn annoying. Shallow, petty, unpleasant, etcetera. Even with some of the flashbacks to her youth, I still didn’t think the hate was justified. And thus the acclaim Ran got up until now was awfully peculiar. Nevertheless, I finally see why Ran’s character turned out the way it did. Damn — who’d have thought Lum was such a jerk as a kid lol. I’d hold a grudge too. And I actually do, to an extent, with other acquaintances IRL. So this first segment was actually well-done because it gives us some more exposition on an unappealing character. One that I can finally say I emphasize with. (Might I say, Ran having to pay the bill for the drinks and desserts was the icing on the cake. Lum’s still doin Ran dirty, even if inadvertently.) |
