So you're like 15 now???? XD

Because of character count this sentence exists.

Exactly!! Is it wrong or something?

No, but it makes most of us feel old. I was watching anime before you where even born which makes me feel very old.

Inukami......right after the original FMA. If it was the other way around I might have never continued watching even though I actually like Inukami.

I did have a resurgence a couple years ago that started with SAO (I think? Maybe Angel Beats), but I wasn't fully immersed until a year and a half ago when I watched Revolutionary Girl Utena. I'd heard about it for a while, but experiencing it for myself was a whole other matter. Easily one of the best shows I've seen, and I keep looking out for things I can appreciate like that.

Oh man, 10/10 for original post, much creativity! No but seriously, this has been asked so many times, just doing a forum search and you'll know why. Also, it sets me curious, why do you care what anime we first started watching lol. It is not like you're gonna do a statistics chart for presentation or something.

Hm...probably Digimon or Pokemon, if you consider those to be more of an anime than a cartoon. Else it would either be Death Note or Naruto.

Pokemon and toy franchise anime like Bakugan, Yu-Gi-Oh GX (which is best yugioh imho) and Beyblade were what I watched all the time, and Anime-influenced american animation like Ben Ten was the real sh*t. Also Studio Ghibli movies.

But what got me in to anime-watching online was Attack on Titan. I binge-watched it and finished it in 3 days :P

It would have to be Angel Beats! Back then, I did watch some of Zatch Bell, Naruto and One Piece but I didn't know what anime was at the time. When I first watched Angel Beats! back when I was still in high school, I got into anime.

Baccano. Probably not the most common way to get into anime.
It's not the first thing I watched, I've been watching Naruto for ages, but never really cared for the medium as a whole. A friend of mine, an old weeb, recommended Baccano to me, I gave it a try and thought maybe there's more to this medium than I thought. And here I am, two years later, having watched few hundered series. >.>

Kill la Kill. Before that I only had little contact with anime, only watching few episodes of popular series on the TV. But I saw lots of people in gaming forums talking about Kill la Kill, so I gave it a try watching it online, after that I started wathing animes online here and there.

First watched Spirited Away when I was 3 or 4.
But what got me really into anime a year ago was from a friend who kept recommending anime for me to watch. Such as,
Angel Beats
Steins;Gate
Zetsuen no Tempest
Guilty Crown
Toradora
Death Note
Rainbow

And probably a few more that I forgot. After that, I basically got into anime.

The first i ever watched and liked was Candy Candy (according to my parents though, as i do only remember some images... i think).

The ones i do really remember were Dragon Ball, Saint Seiya, and Sailoor Moon but i didn't know they were anime at the time.

The ones who introduced me to anime in the whole sence were the Oh My goddess OVAs https://myanimelist.net/anime/49/Aa_Megami-sama

I know I'm the first to say this lol. :p

But my friends were playing a Dragon Ball Z game at a sleepover and I just didn't know what the hell it was at the time, so I went home and watched it because I didn't want to be left out :c

I didn't even know what anime was before that, got really into it though and then AFTER I watched up to the Namek arc I switched to DB 'cause I felt I didn't know the full story. Fast forward a few weeks an I was addicted to DB as a whole.

Oddly enough I remember looking for books in the schools library and I found the full set of DBZ manga... Took a few of those home and would even go up to the library during lunch and just eat and read, and that's all she wrote.

Back then I wasn't sure even how to read them, I was new to manga obviously and didn't know you had to read from right to left. I still think it's funny and awesome that our library had manga, wonder what other manga they had xD

Edit: Trigun was my second anime but I'd still count it as my first because it was the first I seen that I knew was considered and anime, and not a cartoon like many in the US do.

Edit 2: I actually have to say Pokemon was my first anime, but not the anime that got me into the genre. I thought (like many kids) it was a cartoon.

Re:Zero made me an anime fan. I started listening to anime podcasts, watching reaction videos and anime youtubers basically because of it. I started to know more about the anime "culture".

I will probably disappear when the show is done and come back when they announce season 2.

Big impact on my life.

It wasn't one show that got me into anime, it was three shows: Yu Yu Hakusho, Rurouni Kenshin and Hunter x Hunter (1999), when I watched them at the same time in late 2013, before I joined MAL. Even though I had already completed 8 anime series prior to watching these, those 3 were the ones that really got me into anime. Funny thing is that I wouldn't know that Yu Yu Hakusho and Hunter x Hunter were created by the same person until a few months later.

When I was a kid I loved Yu-gi-Oh! but I wasn't aware it was anime so I guess that doesn't count. I watched naruto with a friend when I was like 8, but it was the only anime we watched so I guess that doesn't count as "getting into anime". The two anime that made me watch anime more were Death Note and Kuroko no Basket. I watched both of them one after the other cos my cousin told me to and I loved them. I loved Knb cos I love basketball and I loved Death Note because it blew my fuckin mind.
