Just as the title says.

I recently bought Kizumonogatari and the feeling of actually holding the book makes it so much better.
But, Kizumonogatari happens to have a very good translation.
And it makes sense since,if what I read online is true the editors of Nishioshin did help Vertical.

So, has anyone here tried the official translations by Yen? I have seen many people bashing them for some series like No Game no Life, and honestly I dont want to buy vol1 of Index and stop there because it ended up atrocious.

Not sure if you still need an answer, but I just started reading their Index books and I think YP has done an okay job. It's especially nice if you don't like the British English used in the fan TL.

There are a small number of mistakes, but nothing you wouldn't be able to mentally auto-correct.

Do keep in mind they're pretty far behind atm. They haven't even finished S2 anime content.
