I hate Pop music with a white hot passion (whether US,UK, or over in Asia or anywhere else, very, very few exceptions are to this) and I love all kinds of other music.

I'm a mad lover for DnB

as well as Dubstep

Garage/Future Garage

Chillstep

and Ambient (and many other genres).

What about you?

No.
I love J-pop (preferably 80s and 70s idol stuff) with a passion.

Also, you should develop on your "all kinds of other music" point, you only posted electronica, and not a very varied selection of genres.

Music I like varies greatly by genre (it doesn't even matter),
But from what you've mentioned I love ambient the most.
I also like some pop music and because it varies too
I don't think it's a good idea to generalize it as a whole.

Same. I don't listen to pop, especially US-UK (all those shaking booty and meaningless lyrics man). I indulge in metalcore, hardrock and symphonic rock, gothic rock (probably all kinds of rock lol) sometimes jazz, edm and rnb. I only listen to pop when it comes to Amatsuki. Other than that, hell naw.

60's and 70's pop was the best.

I listen to all kinds of music, I find that I get bored if I stick with a traditional genre. Here are some examples:

Metal:

Polish Reggae:

German Folk:

I suppose this classifies as rap

Fiona Apple (I count her more as alternative but meh)

Piano/instrumental

Video game music

Etc

I listen to all kinds of music, although mainly folk and various sub-genres of rock. I also enjoy jazz, funk, R&B, classical, and some hip-hop and pop music, although probably not the kind of pop that you're referring to... "Pop" is a very broad genre. It isn't solely the shit that many mainstream Western artists are pumping out right now. For example, there's Stevie Wonder and Billy Joel, to name a few. Multiple songs of theirs can be considered pop. Truth be told, they're pretty old so you could say that it's mostly modern pop music that sucks. However, I do like some songs by Melanie Martinez.

To be fair, I'm a sucker for poppy melodies, but rock is my favorite genre. I can't stand electro pop, but I love The Beatles and Weezer.

Examples of less pop stuff I like would be Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters, Nirvana, The White Stripes, that sorta thing.

I agree. That was a pretty small slice of music there, with it all falling under electronica / edm.

I also can't say I really "hate" pop music, but I don't listen to it much. Certain songs will always stick out to me though that I might like. If its overplayed on the radio though, I will always end up hating it :/

My tastes are pretty much varied between quite a few genres, including Punk Rock (Rise Against, My Chemical Romance), (Japanese) Rock (Asian Kung-fu Generation, SUPER BEAVER), Alternative (Amazarashi, Ling Tosite Sigure, both of which are also Japanese..), Folk (Mumford and Sons), EDM (too many artists to list since I generally just like specific tracks, AfroJack is pretty good though), and some hip-hop stuff (the more chill stuff, not about drugs, money, etc. Neverland by Abstract and feat. Ruth B is a good example).

I listen to pretty much anything: pop from time to time but it's not really my taste, symphonic metal, hard rock, some metal, punk rock, alternative.

But I think my favourite type of music is 90s grunge and alternative; Alice in Chains, Silverchair, Audioslave, Nirvana, that kind of stuff. I find it relaxing, but my friends say it's "stoner music" lol

There's no need to list every song, "dear". But listing out all the genres (or at least a majority) that you enjoy would've helped make the point you're trying to make, otherwise you look like:

B) Ignorant

You want me to list all the genres I listen to just to please you? Yeah, no way because I'd have a hell of a time doing that. Don't know about you, but I do not want to spend that much time on a single silly forum post.

To look like a poser, I would have to be claiming that I am something to start off with. I'm just a person who enjoys a wide variety of music and doesn't happen to care about the genre. Nice try. :)

I skimmed through it then used ctrl+f to search genres on the page and none of them came up. And yeah, it's tedious to do. So I understand you not wanting to do it, but since you didn't already have it made and didn't want to list them out you really shouldn't have made the claim. You were claiming that you listen to pretty much everything, so the majority of genres. Then you listed out a bunch of similar genres and completely avoided genres that are unrelated. This is a pet peeve of mine so that's why I got so annoying about it.

Also as proof that its missing a ton of genres (and subgenres which I see as genres, so should be listed) here's some not on there: Lolicore, Breakcore, Noise (it has Japanoise though surprisingly but not in a correct location), Laptop Micro-Autism, Vaporwave, Mallsoft, Speedcore, Splittercore, Extratone, Acid, Shitfunk, Noisegrind, Gorenoise, Pornoise, Porngrind, Grindcore, Goregrind, Loligrind, Cybergrind, Scum, Drone Doom, NESBM, NSBM, Atmospheric Black Metal, Post-Black Metal, Raw Black Metal, Pre-Hispanic Black Metal, Dungeon Synth, City Pop, J-Rap, Cloud Rap, Horrorcore, Future Funk, Vaportrap / Cloudtrap, Tech-house, Minimal (Electronic), Minimal House/Techno, Mashcore, Mashups, Power Electronics, North Korean Pop, EBM, Samplecore, Drill & Bass, lowercase, Microsound, Field Recordings, Avant-pop, Gabber, Raggacore, Post-Rock, War Trance, Tribal Ambient, Dark Ambient, Sonifications, Futurism, Japanese Sound Poetry, Moeclick, Blackgaze, Noise Pop, Moog Music, Indonesian Pop

I feel the pain man :P

I usually listen to a lot of genres apart from some pop songs.
The pop music in my country is utter crap (The Netherlands)
Hence why a lot of my countrymen listen to English pop.

But i like all other genres, including emo/gpthic, Rock, Hard Rock, ect
just things with feelings yknow.
Also, Classical music.

I usually don't care about the genre though, if the song is good it's good.

I think pop songs are most of all crap for people which don't like 'em , it's not only for your country , I thought the same at first but after I tried to listen to more pop it was utter crap.
