MAL has a very clear bias against slice of life shows so MAL scores means nothing for them. Having said that Hanayamata is IMHO certainly not a great show, what I wanted was to watch cute girls doing dancing things. Instead what I got was the anime version of Mean Girls and not much dancing.

Well the anime is new, it takes time for more people to watch it at rate it. That's why usually new anime get ranked low.

Also to prove my point, it has go up to #1271 in about 2 weeks.

Not everyone likes cute girls doing cute things...What do you expect?above 7.50 is pretty good for this show...Its not underrated or overrated imo
