I have a CR manga subscription, so I can get some from there. I tend to stick to fan translations otherwise as they are often either the only ones available, or the only ones available in a timely fashion. Hopefully CR's selection will expand in the next few years...
Yea CR is the only manga I read online

I'm lucky in that my local book shop has a pretty good selection. In fact, they just expanded their manga to another shelf, and it's been a single shelf for years. Before that it was one of those rotating stands. Two shelves doesn't sound too impressive, but I can always find something interesting.

Furthermore, there's a comic book store near where I live. I'll be honest: I've never bought any manga from there (that's strictly for graphic novels and comic books), but it's nice to know it's there.

When I find out about a manga, I always check to see if I can buy it on Amazon. Odds are, if I can find it there, by Saturday it will have appeared in the aforementioned book shop. (In fact, this happens almost every time, and it's rather unsettling. For example, I put 'Ranma 1/2' on my Amazon Wish List, went into the book shop the next day, and it had appeared on the shelf. Very creepy.)

If it's impossible to buy an English-language copy of the manga that I want, then I read it on-line. If the manga I want is available in English but it costs a little too much, then I save.

To tell you my honest feelings, Admiral Müller, as the groom at a wedding ceremony, the Kaiser is simply just a handsome man, I'm afraid to say. But as the supreme fleet admiral who leads entire fleets, he's really a godly person. Don't you think so, too?

Unless you're only into massively popular modern shounen/shoujo, you will have a hard time finding tankobon in either American bookstores or libraries. (Obviously, Kinokuniya is an exception, and an awesome chain)

However, I do try to buy at least one volume of a series that I have enjoyed reading online if I see it in a bookstore. For instance, I have an unopened tankobon of Detroit Metal City lying somewhere around my apartment since I bought it 3+ years ago.

I read most of my manga online. I can't really afford to buy a whole lot, and my local libraries don't really have any available.

Same for me

When I was younger, I used to buy my manga at either Barnes & Noble, or this small anime shop that would sell all sorts of anime, manga, figures, merch, and you could rent anime (it closed a while back).

I'm not into anime as I used to when I was a teen, so I don't buy manga anymore. I still keep up with Naruto because I've been reading it for years, and it's going to end in less than a month. I do own volumes 1 to 56 of Naruto, and I plan on buying the rest, just to complete it.

I use based Manga Stream to keep up with Naruto. They do an amazing job with clean-ups and translating.
