Pretty much everyone I know has said not to bother watching it, but I really hate leaving series like that.

Is the second season worth watching, or is it basically the same thing?

Just watch only one of 'Endless Eight' episodes. So there's only 7 episodes to watch...

What you have in Season 2:

An episode that they forgot to animate in season 1 (Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody)
8 filler episodes
4 episodes describing an event which you have already seen in season 1 (the film for the culture festival)

It'll be terribly pointless.
Peace through Superior Firepower!

Are you using some kind of advanced logic I don't know about? Have you decided to assign new meanings to English words? Are you just intentionally burning a straw man and knowing full well that you're changing the subject and misrepresenting a claim?

Too many people are fickle and stupid. Though, I hope -- when moar Haruhi is shown... fewer people do watch -- just so that I can spoil it. >:D

I haven't seen a lick of the second season, though i'm considering it only to hear the fang girl talk some more.

I will say that even if it's bad, you should probably see for yourself if you liked the original. If you like the characters and premise enough, it may carry you through what others would consider boring.

don't fight your urges. :p

The only bad thing about it is the Endless Eight arc.

*Nods Sagedly*

I found myself dropping it after episode 7. Completely lost interest at that point in the series which is sad considering how much I enjoyed the 1st season.

Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody explains some things, and Sighs explains the entire point of Ep. 0

Endless Eight is shit.

just watch the first, second, and last episode of endless eight. The other episodes are somewhat interesting as well. However, the 2nd season is not as good as the first.

I skimmed through most of endless eight, sure its' repetitive, but it's directed better one could expect.

Don't think so.

As for opinions, watch it if you want to. If you get bored or frustrated at Endless Eight (which if you don't, you're a bit weird), then skip ahead to after that after watching the first and last episode of the arc.

Well one thing I've learned from this experience, is that a princess is still a princesss even when she is naked.

Endless Eight was awesome because it trolled countless obsessive fanbabies into dirt and caused more butthurt than an eternity of prison rape

The entire 'second season' is just left-overs from season 1. They shouldn't be seen as separate seasons in this regard. Best is to watch all the episodes in one go.

this.

and as for my opinion, it is pretty much pointless asking others whether you should watch it or not, not to mention there are a lot of people who don't even seem to have understood the story or concept of the show at first place, but still keep following it just because a lot of others do it as well~

Endless eights doesn't ruin the other good episodes it just ruins endless eights, just ignore endless eights or decide on a number of endless eights episodes to watch, Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody and Sighs are perfectly fine

Actually, there are just 7 filler episodes. =P The last EE is a direct adaptation of the novel.

For the people who are saying things about not even watching the first season, you clearly aren't fans of the show so stop writing on this thread. Just shut up in general, we're sick of hearing your opinions.

If you like Haruhi, then you'll enjoy watching the second season because it is just a continuation of the original series. Endless Eight was poorly managed, but not bad enough to skip over or start hating the series because of. Its just annoying. That is all.

The only reason I found the season not as good as the first simply because these parts of the story aren't as interesting to me. But thats Tanigawa's fault, not the season.
