| Seems like the chapter discussions got messed up again (awhile ago), this should be for the ending of the Cheap Trick arc which I just had to comment on because tying it back to the purgatory arc from awhile back was absolutely genius. Seems like we're entering the final stretch, it's sure to be amazing though I probably won't be commenting again until the end. |

| If it weren't for Reimi's street, Rohan might've spent the rest of his life cowering in fear and isolation. Cheap Trick gets no pity from me for his horrendous death anymore because of how dangerous he actually was. Reimi encouraged them to follow up on Kosaku! |

| I don't need to say it again but I will, Diamond is Unbreakable has so much variety!! You never know what kind of challenge the characters will face. This one in particular wasn't wholly original, it was quite evocative of Stardust Crusaders' the Empress. Both feature a stand which forces its way onto the body of a cast member while threatening to kill them and speaking to others nearby to put them in bad situations. The ending was even similar, the stand thinks it has won, but the cast member says to the stand: "I meant to come here all along" and wins!! That said, even though the Empress was given Joseph Joestar charm as we focused on him and he finished everything off with his famous one-liner, I couldn't help but find this one far more interesting in execution. Firstly, Cheap Trick is not an enemy stand which Rohan can simply defeat in combat. It is his stand, anything which happens to it, happens to him. Fighting is not an option! That is a huge difference. The second point of interest is the back which can never be seen or Rohan will die. While both the Empress and Cheap Trick called others to interfere, the danger of Cheap Trick was amplified, as were the strategies tailored to this ability. Not to undermine Joseph Joestar's one liner, but the way it concluded was also exceptional. Realizing where Rohan had led Cheap Trick was a total "Oh my GOD" moment, a great use of the previously established ideas and the "go to hell" was the cherry on top. So cool!!! |
