Its a thriller/ survival game with an awesome opening song! Have you tried Durarara? its pretty realistic but it does contain some supernatural elements that still seem realistic. Plus there is a wide range of unique characters and its a mysterious thriller where everything makes sense towards the end :) |

| Lots of great suggestions here. Here's mine: Colorful Garden of Words 5 Centimeters per Second I Can Hear the Sea (Ocean Waves) Only Yesterday These are about as realistic and quality 'slice of life' anime as I have ever seen. I think you'll enjoy them. |
| Garden of words is overrated in my opinion. The pace of the story was rushed 5cmps has a lot of talking, the ending saved the show Beck is great if you like the charact and rock music Planetes Welcome to NHK Space Brothers Rainbow Hajimme no Ippo (boxing) Usagi Drop And yeah, apparently most anime are moe-shit. Even if the story is great, and supposed to be dark, they turn it into moe or too brightly-colored, which was more frustrating for me |

| Since my last post on this topic, I've found quite a few more: Chihayafuru Bakuman Ajin Aku no Hana Death Note Haikyuu!! Mirai Nikki Natsuyuki Rendezvous Sword Art Online The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya Yomigaeru Sora Rescue Wings I have BECK on DVD and enjoyed it quite a bit, particularly because I'm in the amp repair business and see a lot of this equipment. Seeing that '59 Telecaster was real sweet. So many others I can't recall off the top of my head.. |
| Hajime no Ippo was intense! Wasn't sure I wanted to watch the series, as the character designs didn't agree with my tastes, but the story was a 10! What was also amazing is that the intensity kept up for 75 episodes. The ideas from the writers never left me bored. Also saw Usagi Drop. Very different art style, but the story was fascinating and a glimpse into Japanese attitudes toward a sensitive issue. |
| Rose of Versailles Oniisama e... But a rec based on another ecchi you like and an otaku anime you love... Feel this anime is appealing to those who like both Golden Boy and Welcome to the NHK: Video Girl Ai. All three are great. More about characters and drama. |
