| This depends on your definition of being a man. I would argue Ippo from Hajime No Ippo. While he can be a bit of a puss at times, he understands what it means to be a man. When his mother needed him, he helped her without hesitation, reward, or a second thought to himself. That is a real man. A man is someone who is willing to give his very life if needed to protect and provide for his family. |

| Zoro from One Piece. The guy would cut his own feet off in order to free himself, not to run away, but to fight. Other badass feats of his include cutting his own wound in order to give himself a handicap, lifting a whole house after being diced by a meat-grinder and absorbing all of Luffy's pain and fatigue in addition to his own and surviving to tell nothing about that. |

| Guts from Berserk was pretty bad ass.. But I voted for Alucard.. He's by far the most badass character I've ever seen... Brandon Heat from Gungrave comes close too.. :D |

| To be a badass you need to be strong, but also you need style and attitude. You need to be calm, confident and try not to make a fool of yourself. In this thread I see many strong characters, but only about 10% qualify for this title (Naruto and Vash don’t). Zaraki lost to Ichigo (teenage boy) who didn’t have bankai at that time, and he lacks style. I accept Kenshiro for his badass boast (“you are already dead”) and Alucard for his badass long coat and glasses and overall attitude. Other badass characters: Heiwajima Shizuo Hijikata from Gintama (especially when he is out of cigars or mayo) |
