oh nah she's been ran through, she belongs to the streets. or belonged, i guess? still, seems this season is incapable of producing good romance anime so far. aside from that 'disgraced noble' one, that one was decent.
i can't believe this wimpy mc who's usually the type to get ntr'd in other manga i've read, is actually the only somewhat decent character so far. the dialogue and progress from barely talking to dating was just straight-up braindead. not to mention the incredibly mediocre animation.

This is bad, I watch it for the cute gyaru happy go lucky waifu, but it opened with one of the worst trope of a bland mc explaining how bland he actually is, and this level of idiocy overly nice from the gyaru is just too much.

God... the absolute pain of suffering to listen to the MC boy just constantly stuttering and being an absolute wet noodle the entire episode. I can see this anime as being something young teenagers getting their feet wet in romance animes would be good for, but the loss of brain cells watching this was way too much for me. Only gave it a chance because the girl was kind of cute and the art style looked cute, so maybe... but no.

No its just bad lol

Most guys really are after the body only, so its normal that she just gave them what they wanted to keep them from seeing other girls (tho I dont approve but I kinda understand) so if guys acted more like the mc and keep it in their pants till the timing is right when there is feelings and honesty, most relationships would be succes.
It's my point of view many will not agree but I believe what the mc did was right and what she did is understandable.
Seggs should be done with people you really love.

I don't remember the last time I would've had as much mixed feelings over a pilot episode. I picked this show up because I absolutely adore the kind-hearted gyaru archetype and so far both Runa and her friends have certainly delivered on that, but I just can't get over how much this feels like a nice guy's wet dream. The way Runa is simultaneously a non-virgin yet very pure-hearted makes it seem like the protagonist is supposed to be some sort of savior that rescues the fair maiden from those pesky predatory chads because thou are not permitted to hold hands until thee form an eternal oath! The fact that the story is told from the POV of this idealistic yet pessimistic horny virgin makes the entire show have a weird, extremely uncomfortable undertone, but I also know guys like this do really exist... I feel like he's pretty well written so far in terms of credibility, but he's by no means a likeable character which is the main problem.

Runa's past is heartbreaking and based on what I've heard about the dating and cheating culture in Japan, also an unfortunate reality for many. It's devastating to think about how girls as young as her think of sex as something they have to partake in whenever because their upbringing has led them to believe that their value lies in how well they're able to accommodate for their partners' sexual needs. Runa seems especially keen on external validation, so it's not surprising that she's willing to resort to sex as a "duty" in order to hear positive affirmations about herself like "I like you" of "you're cute".

TL;DR I'm probably going to end up starting as a hate-watcher and maybe accidentally fall in love with it halfway through.

PS. Runa's first name (月愛) can also be read as "tsukiai" which means dating or companionship. It's satisfying to pick up on little details like this as a japanese learner, haha.

Dude it's so funny by how many people judge the story only by the first episode. Just wait until they finally realize what it's all about.

I've read the LN about months ago, and I assure y'all that the story is promising.

People have very short attention spans. They want everything explained in one episode. Let them drop it though, keeps these threads smaller and more intimate

I obviously already love this anime! Runa may be a flashy gal, but she does seem pretty kindhearted to others, tbh I was kinda concerned on how easy she seem in the teaser trailer😅. If I was in the same boat as Ryuto where a popular girl even approaches the introvert, I would also develop strong feelings for her. I kinda feel bad for Runa, she say she's a faithful girlfriend but guys she dates only seem to be after her body (Scum!!). Ryuto may also have an interest in doing it, but he's a sensible guy who wants to build a foundation, there are not that many guys who could be like that lol. I can tell their relationship will turn into a great one, even if they face certain obstacles along they way.

I know it's "impure" but I really do hope that her "impure" love would turn to "pure" love like how we saw from the trailers. And I've got a feeling its gonna be kinda emotional.

How sad Shirakawa gave me when she said "It's almost like a duty", the poor thing was accustomed to being disposable, but I trust and am certain that our Ryuto will be able to guide her on the right path, I feel that their relationship will be a kind of "reformatory for my girlfriend who never really knew love", but obviously there must be some setback in between, so I'm betting because the girl Ryuto previously proposed to is going to try to coax him back to her by realize that he now has a girlfriend. See you next week c:

The whole premise of her thinking that sex is an obligation and that no guy would date her if she didn't put out is honestly retarded as hell. The author was probably just thinking, "how do we set up a premise for a girl that is actually easy and not just rumored to be that will not receive too much backlash from the audience? Let's make it so that she has no social or cultural awareness and let's have her parents not teach her anything about social interactions whatsoever. We'll also potray it such that every single guy before the mc was some sex crazed player who used her in the worst way, and she's just some total angelic being who got played. She could not choose a single guy who would take her seriously until the MC here confessed on a dare. That says alot about her ability to choose men, if anything. Yeah apparently this anime is going to set up a romantic story but if you set it up on such a shitty premise, it ultimately won't result in anything meaningful.

Bruh, now I understand all the comments that were said about this manga (now anime) 💀

The protagonist seemed like a good guy to me, he knows what he wants and doesn't seem to be as "delicate" or stupid as others (cough cough Kazuya cough cough).

The girl intrigues me, so is the rumor of her promiscuity true? ._.

I understand in the long run the payoff might be better but genuinely I think these two would turn out just fine if they had just done it now. He isn’t going anywhere. He could have still helped her correct this notion by later asking her why she was so quick to give it to him. He just blueballed himself for his own sense of justice in a world that isn’t that simple.

I had exactly the same impression. And guess what? Apparently it worked well. Look at some comments in various places on the Internet that are critical, but polite about the author choosing such trope and presenting it in that way. You will see generic "incel this, incel that" buzzphrases, filled with mandatory misandric insults no matter who is talking. Sexism and hostility comparable to that mythical "army of incels hating on women".

Anyway, I'm not surprised, to be frank. A lot of anime fans have soft spot for such otaku pandering. They are also hypocrites treating this somewhat dramatic story as something "sad uwu" or "cute" (sic!), because the author decided to present sexual awareness in that way (or rather not present it at all). What's the message of this show? That being easy is actually not that bad for a young woman's dignity? Or maybe that it's not Shirokawa's family's fault that she has become someone who is casually called as a whore by a lot of guys at her school, due to their parents and grandparents preferring apparently to live a chilled life instead of just raising her?

Kinda messed up situation, not gonna lie. My female friend has called it as "femcel fantasy". I didn't expect her to use that kind of harsh vocabulary when talking about this show, but if you think about, her judgement was on spot. Presenting sexual awareness like that surely looked as if the author wanted to introduce the readers to something like "femcel fantasy".

Half of me is saying "JUST DO IT YOU PUSSY!!!!"

but the other half is saying: "Respect."

It may take some time to get there, but the dude just opened the door to her heart. Thought this would be an annoying watch, and it might be, but might not. This story and their relationship might just mean something.

This anime is truly an anti-thesis of Angel Next Door whose female MC is very hard to get and it needs a whole season to finally become male MC's gf
Meanwhile in this anime, just in first episode both are already couple and they almost had sex...

Good thing the visual is great, unlike that Natsukawa anime.

I like both male and female MC in this show, they look fun to watch together ^.^

The way she has been showing is not bad....She is only ready to do it because of others behavior or relationship.....But it's nice that she actually want fair and good relationship and mc will really do it and how he will do it will be the curiousity of each episode.

Wow, another character with a generic design and a generic personality. How original. Someone with a bland personality CAN become a good character (Someone like Gojo Wakana from MDUD) but I'm honestly so tired of these characters. They feel so formulated (probably because they're supposed to be self inserts).

I'll give it a few more episodes, but yeah, I may not complete this.

first, two things out of the way. I know the story a bit, read the manga. Runa is absolutely delightful, and her story is tragic, but not unusual for a broken home child. There is hope for a redeeming arc of sorts that could work very well.
Second, the voice acting for MC is atrocious. High pitched stuttering of socialy debilitated person. AGAIN! I somehow didn't feel like that about him as I read him, but here it goes.
It certainly seems true once again that voice acting can make story seem cringier than it actually is.

So if I understand right form her past relationships she has developed a f*cked up understanding of what a relationship is because people only were after her body and MC he's gonna teach her what a real relationship is where you're after the person not their body. But here come my thought and the actual me trying to understand her. Does she have trauma or is she just genuinely stupid. Well I definitely calling her a bimbo. But like how she constantly being in relationships. So why didn't she learn form them? Sounds like a fear of abandonment and loneliness to me ah and the need for constant validation.

First episode quite surprised me - in a positive way. It had a lot of cute and funny moments, the animations look good imo and the artstyle is pure eyecandy.

Runa's character design and personality are very kawaii. Stereotype gal waifu, nothing new here but still cute. Ryuuto looks like 08/15 romcom male MC and behaves like that most of the time. Lots of clichés with the characters and plot here.

Although it again is a cliché, I quite liked the tiny little twist that Runa indeed slept with her previous boyfriends but only to please them and maybe get a little bit of love. Poor girl! I'd like to see more of that kinda psychological take of this show.

I also really liked Ryuuto's communication towards Runa in the end of the episode. It's refreshing to see anime characters actually speak their mind in a relationship / school romcom setting, especially the shy male lead. It's nice he doesn't intend to use her and take advantage of her like the other boys before (even if, deep inside him, he really wanted to just gibe in to her "offers").

This probably isn't going to be my favorite anime of all time but if the characters maybe get more depth and the animation quality doesn't decrease dramatically, I'll say it's a solid, sweet romcom for me.

@Tsinelas I totally agree with you. Most people in this forum just talk about her bodycount but that's not the point of the show at all.

Runa may be well versed in fullfilling other people's needs but then she seems quite naïve and inexperienced concerning mutual feelings. This naïvety could be a coping mechanism for rejection she had to suffer (in her childhood or just the "boyfriends" who dumped her), maybe even trauma.

Maybe we'll get more infos in future episodes, I really hope so.

Here we're again with the looser wimp introverted industrial waste protagonist having a crush on the super duper popular girl of the whole class if not the whole school. With being that seems like the author gave many loose screws in the fmc's head.
I mean how dumb would you've to be to not know the meaning of "like" and whatever tf was that.
This fmc is like a girl that can be played by any guy at any moment.
Her dress-up is full gyaru but her behaviour is genky wtf
And she's more dumb even than a genky type.
Without her looks she's nothing but a piece of crap good for nothing

I think whether this show is good or not will fall first in the dynamics of the couple and also how the mc grows. Cuz right now he is kinda generic, his personality and his design pretty much are the typical mc in this kind of stories, even more in ln adaptations. Lets see, maybe it can be a pleasant surprise for this season.

episode 1 was enough to create expectations about the anime, and just from this first episode we were able to more or less base ourselves on what the story might be and compare them with some similar animes. But expectations will always be high and I hope they don't disappoint. But I liked the first episode so I'll like how the story unfolds. We'll see, expectations are always high, don't disappoint

Sadly couldn’t watch this one day of so I moved it to Saturday, but holy shit I wasn’t expecting the episode 1 thread to pop off this much lol, I guess it has been a while since we got a gyaru romance show but still kinda surprising to me. This first episode was good one too, it’s ENGI so it doesn’t look particularly amazing with animation but I do really like the art, it’s also very reminiscent of “My First Girlfriend is a Gal” which is definitely a dose of nostalgia lol, as well as “Married Couple but not Lovers” from last year’s Fall season and I quite enjoyed that one.

And our boy Ryuto is already winning big time with his confession working out. I was excited to see his friends’ reactions to it working for him and that didn’t disappoint, goofs probably feel stupid now lol. The biggest thing tho was the reveal of how Runa has been with her past boyfriends, at first it seemed kinda funny but really it’s pretty sad, this poor girl has the completely wrong idea about about relationships and hopefully Ryuto can show her what a good one is like, and I think that will be a delight to watch over the course of this show. It looks like there could be a potential harem from the OP, but as with other shows with this inclusion, it will be fun to have other girls but we know who has won already lol.

And the OP at the end was very nice, Maaya Uchida has done some of my favorite anime songs and this one sounds like it’s gonna be part of that list, and speaking of music I noticed the ost in this show is very nice as well, like not the kind of music I was expecting but it’s great lol. Looking forward to more of this one!

I really hope this anime is a cautionary tale. Imagine thinking you could fix a girl (underage I might add) that's broken enough to sleep with just about anyone, pretty much immediately after meeting them. There's some serious damage there that will require long years of therapy to somewhat mitigate the fallout. Then again, this is fiction, and probably wish fulfillment on the part of the writer so they will live happily ever after I guess.

Trash. The horrible voice acting really clinched it for me to not force myself to watch an otherwise bad show.
Can we get past the cliche anti-sex boy protagonist already? The protagonist, looks, acts and sounds exactly like about 50 other awful MCs from the past few years.

Mod Edit: Removed baiting.

Yeah same old boring, cowardly main character that I’ve seen dozens of times before.

At what point did Ryuto declare he was going to "fix" Runa?

Who is underage?

Why does Runa's attitude to sex mean she's "broken"?
