@RobertBobert i don't think it'd be a franchise as it'll be an one series for a 13 episodes.

| I don't get what people's problem with the Middle East setting is? What about it was cringe? I found it pretty formulaic, but considering the series pedigree I wasn't exactly expecting anything revolutionary - in fact, I went into this expecting super robot and that's exactly what I got. And since I've been watching a ton of Gundam the past few years, it was a nice change of pace. The animation looked pretty good, the progression of story and what was happening kept me interested, I loved the modern interpretations of 70s design, and I thought the 3D mechs actually looked pretty nice. I do feel like I wish I would have seen Shin Mazinger Z or something, just so I know who Koji and Sayaka are and to get a better sense of the stakes and power scaling when seeing Mazinger defeated, but I also feel like it's kind of nice to experience this as its own thing. |

| Pretty insipid but the change in configuration (characters positions, etc) got my attention. Too bad it looks rather bad, and only the final shot of Grendizer and the severed head of Mazinger were drawn for real. 2/5 Also, hum... were those Middle East references mandatory? |
