Pokemon, Digimon and Dragon Ball.

But the first anime I watched knowing that it was anime is Shaman King.

I watched one episode of Pokemon online, just because I was playing one of the games and I wanted to see Butterfree animated.

I got pretty bored, so I clicked one of the related videos, which was a scene from the first episode of Love Hina.

So I consider Love Hina to be my 'first' anime, because I watched it all the way through to the end, and in subs.

Elfen Lied. Best anime ever created.

Elfen Lied, was good and all but... Not THAT good.

But I guess it all comes down to personal opinion right.

Ranma 1/2 I think, back when I was around 12-14 or something. Of course I had seen stuff like Pokemon on TV, but Ranma was the first actual anime I looked up because I had just been introduced to the manga by some friends (which was my first encounter with mangas as well).

I still love Ranma and think it's a great series.

If that piece of shit was my first anime I don't think I would've watched any more anime after that.

My first anime was Highschool of the Dead. I just saw it on Netflix one night and decided to check it out.

I believe my first two anime was Card Captor Sakura and Detective Conan, both dubbed in Chinese because it was airing on a kids channel in China. I watched it without knowing what exactly anime was, but I definitely enjoyed it. I guess that was the catalyst for me to start watching other series when I was a little older.
Anime fan since 2005. Well, it was more like a Cardcaptor Sakura fan. Shucks, that was all in the past. I've changed.

I didn't know it was anime, but Sailor Moon. Then Pokemon.

First I knew was, Naruto maybe? Or Inuyasha? Something on Toonami. Maybe it was Kenshin actually, I recall obsessing over that when I was really young.

It was sometime in early elementary that I was reading Inuyasha and Naruto manga...

My first anime was Voltron in like the early 1990's. I was only like 7 then so I had no idea what anime was at the time. I used to watch it early in the mornings before I went to school sometimes.

I think it was probably Yu Yu Hakusho; although, I watched Ghost in the Shell a long time ago when I actually knew what 'anime' was.

Noein was my first. I had seen plenty of Miyazaki films before that, but Noein was my first series. It was... Fairly mediocre and unmemorable, but the idea of there being more anime than just Miyazaki's films (As good as most of them were) intrigued me.

And that's how MAL got its fourth most hated member.

HOTD's on netflix now?

Personally I'm not a big love Hina fan. But I wouldn't call it a piece of shit either. It just has a really really really really really really (10 more in my head) bad dub.

Of course Dragon Ball and Sailor Moon. And of course dub. Back in those days, there were not much of a choice for anime. Didn't even knew the term anime, thought they were just called Japanese cartoon.

Very late to the party here, so Highschool of the Dead. I was still extremely iffy on anything even remotely cute, so one full of guns, tits and zombies seemed a decent enough one to break my virginity on. One my friend kept mentioning which is how I knew of it.

My first was "Kagaku Ninjatai Gatchaman" way back in the late 1970s, before most of you were born. It was brought to the United States in dubbed and bowdlerized form as "Battle of the Planets." Back then, only a few series made it to the United States, and they were all heavily modified. I have recently been watching the series in its original form, and it makes far more sense; I do not care to see any more heavily edited versions of anime series.

Probably Speed Racer. I remember Sailor Moon aired at like 4-5am on some local channel when I was a kid, around 20yrs ago. Either way it was before I knew that they were chinese cartoons.
As for the show that I knew was anime, w/e first aired on toonami.

My first anime was probably Dragonball Z, I was 3-4ish. I was in preschool or reception. It aired on T.V. during the morning so I watched it before I left home. However, the first time I watched anime online, was Naruto or bleach when I was in grade 6 or 7. My cousin showed me introduced me to the series and the concept of watching online.

Either Pokemon or Hamtaro. I remember watching both of those series when I was really little. I'm guessing I was abut 4 at the time so 2002-ish. I don't think I knew it was anime at the time but I knew it wasn't like other American cartoons. First anime I watched when getting into anime though was Shugo Chara.
