At least it was better than the first two episodes I guess. Still a long way away from where the quality should be for OPM but I guess it's not as bad as it could've been

Animation? In my One Punch Man? No way. This episode was actually kinda better than the last 2.

Garo vs monsters looked decent, even if it was a short scene. And even the talking scenes had slightly more animation.

The pacing also wasn't abysmal like the last 2 episodes.

If they can keep it up for the rest of the season, maybe it might be half-decent... But that's being very generous. The bar is that low.

Its funny seeing the outrage on here. Its as if at the start of the episode they were flashed with sudden amnesia that made them forget the last episodes and season 2 existed. Then they come here shocked that its not season 1 quality lol. For me with sensible epectations this was actualy a pretty decent episode, looking forward to seeing how the later fights get animated.

Idk that Garou fight looked decent. Idc anyway people can whine as much they want meh.

To be fair it was a bit better than the 2 previous slideshows. Glad they kept the cabbage/meat scene. The banter in Saitama’s apartment is one of my favorite bits of the manga

Absolutely fantastic episode. I loved the action scenes, and it's nice getting the Limiter explanation in the anime after all this time. We know more about Saitama now.

Saitama folding after being given meat from Kuseno was hilarious! The monsters at the end look like they will be a challenge for the S Class. Hopefully they rescue Tareo.

Can't wait for Ep 4, hopefully Garou is going to be fine!

We now we have a possible in world explanation as to how Saitama was able to become so powerful. That's probably the best part about this episode since the fight between Garou and those monsters wasn't that interesting nor everything regarding the Monster Association. Well there was a little banter at Saitama's house I guess and... that's about it.

There were some funny moments in this episode, but the middle portion in the Monsters Association was super confusing. Maybe I'm still tired or something, but it felt like they were just randomly jumping around without any context or explanation. This whole episode was just so disorienting

This is even easily the Lowest priority adaptation than the other j.c stuffs anime this season.
How producers messed up this popular anime? I think it's intentional. As they will still earn more money just from the name.
S2 miles better (not gonna bring up s1).

Everything that could've gone wrong with this anime has gone wrong. There are literally no redeeming qualities about this anime. Having janky animations is one thing but having no animation at all is a new low even the coloring look awful. Even youtubers are making better animation these days compared to whatever JC Staff is cooking. Heck even the character designs are awful. Especially Genos. He looks like a 5 mins doodle drawing.

Well at least it had animation in the action scenes, at least the first action scene was okay, a bit short, but okay. It wasn't the quality of animation one would expect to see in a high profile series like OPM though, and everything else in the episode was awfully animated. The art style is better than season 2, but animation and directing is worse.. It's just sad to see.

This shit is so ass. I'll not talk about animation because it's what everyone's talking about. But since there are so many still frames with only face movements I must say, THE ART SUCKS WAY MORE THAN THE ANIMATION.

Seriously, season 2 is looking like a masterpiece compared to this. Despite all reasons and comparisons to season 1, season 2 was still watchable. But this thing? Holy shit, it's a hate crime they be doing with One and Murata's work.

Way better than season 2 so far. So at least there is that. If it can keep up consistency. Will be watchable at least.

Directing is way better, composition is way better. It actually has wide shots, not zoomed in constantly, to avoid drawing things. Even if it often is just stills. Doesn't cut frantically from scene to scene like a trailer, like s2. Ruining even the basic comedy, dialogues, characters. (And destroying Saitama, actually he is better this season, wasn't sure only from ep.1. Isn't 100% perfectly monotone, no matter how animated and/or serious he is. Not even matching up with the visuals, at all. He has some range now. Not as good as s1, but much better than s2.)

No crappy random filters(that made every other scene look like a dream sequence) and nonsense gradients.

Interestingly, ep.1 was the weakest. Not a good way to make a 1st impression. Ep.3 best so far. But a lot of eps. left. Can become worse, better, or keep the same level.

Still obviously not good, but hey. I expected worse. Given s2.

Forget about the animation, real issue is that the pacing is just plain bad. Sure the animation quality isn't great, but even if it was it wouldn't solve this awful pacing. Odds are this seasons going to barely cover any content just like season 2.

Disappointing, but decent ep

It hurts my soul that they would change up Aoki's sequence that much, for terrible transitions and pacing. Sure the comp looks way better, but Garou vs Ripper and Insect God, was way worse than what the pv showed us. Sure they expanded on it, but it doesn't excuse how much worse that the Aoki sequence flowed with these questionable changes. Literally removed a scene and added a scene that stupidly loops and shi. Drawings were decent again. Animation was way better than the first two eps combined. Models were slightly inconsistent as well. Look at the comparison below.

Then, the Saitama parts where he was panting and the was posing literally was turned into panning shots.

Liked the cut of Ripper cutting up Garou.

The Dr. Kuseno part was obv boring just like the manga.

Can't wait to see the rich guy son get humbled, stupidly cocky for what.

Not a fan of the place we stopped, but it's alr ig.

While ik what's being adapted in the next few eps, it's more than telling that the production is cooked and schedule didn't help in the slightest. I wouldn't fault anyone who drops the series at this point. But, I ask that ppl blame Bandai for not allowing JC to truly cook. Ik we all have seen JC staff cook when they can. This ep was outsourced, but damn the way they cut corners was terrible in a sense. If they adapt to where I truly think that they should adapt, this will be more or less a high priority ep. The fact that they outsourced this early, is alr telling that the production has a glaring issues.

This ep adapted the other half of ch "Limiter" and like 90% of "Hot Pot".

5/10

Didnt mind the episode. But honestly people will complain as long as its not the new jjk2 (which i hated, so overanimated that you couldnt see shit, but eh) I honestly don't really mind this animation because it fits the show. As long as the parts that require good animation have it I'm all fine with. (the spar sesh between the 2 ninja guys could have used some more tho (also, i still think base sonic>base garou x)))

That monster leader dude is a lot larger than i expected lol. He looked so much smaller in the previous shots.

ps: Can't wait for all the people who say they dropped it to comment on the next episode

@herdemsenturk I mean he's also the least interesting character outside of the big moments tho. They can't really build the show around just him because he's way too overpowered/plain. I mean that's just the penalty. You can only have your show focus on a really broken character if you make his opponents really broken as well, but that would kind of counter the whole idea of the show

If I'm being honest, I was really lost at the beginning of the episode, I was like "Who's that guy?", then when he started to talk about Saitama and the experiments he did I started to vaguely remember "Wait, wasn't this guy from that lab episode, around episode 3 of the 1st season". Since I was curious, after that scene I went to check, and yes, it was indeed from the guy from episode 3. 7 years later, and I still remember some parts of the 1st season I suppose xD
I wasn't expecting this 3rd season to bring back so much from the earlier seasons though, at this point I need a recap of the 1st season too.
Well, always good to revisit my older anime (One Punch Man was, in fact, my 3rd anime ever, so).

This 1st part of the episode was really interesting though, because they explain how Saitama got so strong. So if other humans remove their own limiters, they could get as strong as Saitama. So Saitama being so powerful with such a generic workout routine has now some plot explanation, crazy.

Then Garou gets beaten by those monsters. The battle wasn't as poorly animated as I thought it would be honestly, but they did use a lot of the same scenes throughout the fight. And of course he isn't dead (somehow).

Also, Geno's "creator", Dr. Kuseno, made a reappearance. Great to see he still looks out for Geno. Speaking of Geno, I took the opportunity of rewatching the 3rd episode of the 1st season, and also rewatched the 2nd one, where Geno get's introduced, and as I remember, Geno really had a tragic backstory. I hope he can become strong enough to continue to serve the justice he looks out for.
And of course Saitama couldn't say no to good beef.

Other than that, pretty much a similar episode to the other 2 of the season. The storytelling of this season is just so odd and fast paced, it's hard to follow sometimes, especially because they keep mixing new stuff and older stuff, and the new stuff barely gets explained too.
I don't know, I'm not too confident in this season 3 of One Punch Man honestly, but oh well.

At least we have a plot explanation for Saitama to be bald at only the age of 25, it really was a big sacrifice to get that limited off.

Impact cuts being non existent in the fights along with poor sound effects and artwork in parts and recycled animation ruined both fight sequences in this episode. I would've rather had shorter fight sequences with better sound and artwork, honestly.

One Punch Man as a whole is kind of awkward cause Saitama is never the focus understandably so but I also just don't care for him either. Anyways, I'll keep watching but this series is on thin ice for me right now.

It was nostalgic seeing all the old villains again when Dr. Genus and Zombieman were talking, I haven’t seen them since 2019 after all lol. And Garou versus those two monster fellas was pretty nice, I’m glad there was more to their fight after where the last episode ended, and it actually looked quite good imo, say what you want about the direction but that animation did look good, I just hope they have more where that came from for the later fights, because the ninja fight at the end of the episode didn’t look as good, but hey it was animated at least lol.

And yeah I don’t believe for a second Garou died, but he was definitely in rough shape, he’s not gonna be happy when he eventually gets up, hopefully he can save that kid that was taken, and maybe the rich asshole kid too lol. And the interactions in Saitama’s home were pretty amusing, Fubuki learned something very important when it comes to winning over Saitama there. And with the monsters gearing up for battle, hopefully we can get out of this buildup phase and get to see these monsters get rocked because I’m getting tired of all their gloating lol.
