Slur might've been the focus but Gramps singlehandedly stole the show.

The moment between Sakamoto and Shin was pretty sweet too.

I know I'm the odd man out, but these "blur" type fights are just ridiculous. I get it, these are supposed to be the "best of the best" but light speed moves are stupid. Might as well just be inter dimensional beings rather than humans. And this was poor animation. Slightly better than a power point. Show starting point, then the aftermath with a blur in the middle. Hard to root for anyone when someone can travel faster than light speed or not be bothered when they lose an arm or finger. It's just beyond plot armor at this point. They only will lose when it's decided in the script. At least the plot is moving forward and Sakamoto is showing some love.

Most casual takeover and massacre ever lol. Gaku shows up on his bike, kills a whole floor, takes a bathroom break, grabs a drink, and chats with his mole, dude just chillin. Was kinda worried he wouldn’t find a bathroom for a second there though. Holding it in ain’t healthy, but props to the mask guy for showing him the way.

Anyway, the old guy’s still a total badass, them slashes do not play as we have seen multiple times now, including now. Not surprised he ain't facing big trouble yet. On Sakamoto’s side though, things were looking rough for a second there. I mean, dude got stabbed and it wasn't looking good, but one mention of his daughter and dude locked in instantly. Dude's killing intent went next level for a second there.
@IzanaSolos Takamura sticks around for a while longer, as I recall, though notice what Slur did before Gaku got him to leave. That's gonna be important for later, I honestly forgot it in the manga, it was fairly minor

Holy shit, best episode of the series thus far? This was insane.

F’s in the chat for the 170 who died in the JAA attack, but on a positive note, we now know who slur is and while he and Gaku are OP af, they don’t seem unbeatable.

“It’s a bit dismaying that an old friend has got fat” lmaoooooooooo. Taro v Slur was awesome, that might be the best animation we’ve had to this point? Until slur brought up his daughter, Taro was definitely on the back foot and then he seemed to be overpowering slur. We don’t know if that’s slur fighting at full strength though and there were obviously other factors going on around, but if you’re Sakamoto’s group you gotta feel a little confident coming out of that confrontation.

Gramps vs Gaku was so dope. Did I really just watch Gaku kick his own cut off arm as a projectile lmao?? Uda blowing himself up as a decoy for them to escape is crazy as well. Ton of action in this one

I’m really curious about uzuki/slur’s backstory, why taro tried to kill him back in the day and why he’s out to kill all hitmen? This is definitely not something taro can handle on his own so it’s going to come down to him trusting in his friends and his old comrades to come out on top.

S/O to the old lady in the hospital just watching in awe as hyo fights Taro lmao
@Marinate1016 I forget if they've ever addressed the 1 person that was missing, I think the manga alluded to it being Uda, which would make sense if he was an employee, but the 3 injured is unclear, since Sakamoto wouldn't be considered an employee...or he's still on a payroll, maybe?

Yeah best episode of the season easily, Death Row guys were fun but this is the real shit. Gaku went absolutely stupid on the JAA folks but the badass old guy aka Takamura showed up and shut that down real quickly, I think he’s more scary that Slur honesty lol. And we got to see Sakamoto and Slur clash after all the buildup, and it turns out they have a past together and Slur used to be known as Uzuki, but damn he made Sakamoto look like small potatoes, Sakamoto had to be provoked by bringing up Hana to get him to really measure up to Slur’s skills, but man was Sakamoto epic here anyway, being a pissed off father really brought it out of him.

And unfortunately the fight was cut short (get it, because Takamura uses a sword) but really it’s a good thing because I kinda doubt Sakamoto could win here, Takamura however probably could have, but Slur had a real one in that Uda fella, it’s tough to come by ride or dies like that lol, he probably would’ve died from his neck wound anyway but yeah that was wild. But damn what happened to Takamura? He disappeared and Slur was mumbling like him afterward, did he straight up absorb him or what? Guess that’s an answer for another day, but hey at least the main gang survived their encounter with Slur, including Apart who I thought might die here, losing an arm is tough tho. And thanks to Hyo being played like a fiddle, we know where the gang is heading next, gotta say I’m the most hyped I’ve been in a while to see where this goes. And lastly, poor Shin got an upgrade but still couldn’t do shit in that fight lol, unfortunate but Sakamoto’s moment with him at the end was wholesome, I’m not counting our boy out yet.
@TheColonel76 Takamura's still around, I'm more shocked at how he survived the point blank explosion, it's like he has some kind of aura, though we saw his sword crack, which gives Gaku props in spite of losing fingers and an arm in the fight.

Apart is still MIA last I hear, the manga forgot about him more than the author forgot about Lu, she's barely been around overall that I remember in most arcs

this is the best episode so far, but it's also strange because so much cool shit happened that they couldn't handle of it.
i don't really understand why the bottom part of the screen was darkned in the one gaku scene.

and then the shakey screen here was unnecessary.

the only panel that they really tried and even did well on was the takamura panel, but that panel was just way too detailed and was never gonna be done justice to by any studio, so that's ones understandable.

sakamoto vs uzuki fight was hype though, they did that pretty well and also takamura's samurai ost is fire. gaku pulling up on the JCC employees was cool. we got some foreshadowings in this episode that manga readers should've realized. the hostpital scene at the end was good too. so yeah again, best episode so far but with some things holding it back still.

So what happened to Apart after his arm got blown off? They seem to have forgotten he exists after that.
@Riotstarter nah, they mentioned a missing person at the end of the attack on the JAA.

Damn, would've enough that the animation has improved a little bit, could be the best episode with fight scene so far. Uzuki vs Sakamoto, and Takamura vs Gaku, interesting episode.

Great episode, the old man 100% lived up to the hype what a fucking BEAST. The way he opened that door by cutting thru it to turn the handle? What an entrance.

My only complaint is how much longer until Sakamoto turns back into his skinny form for a fight.

So this Ghost of the JAA ... him slicing that katana through the door then using it to open the door by pushing its handle down ... like WTF that has to be the COOLEST way I've ever seen a katana open a door OMG what a legend!!!

The fight was great too, but damn that guy ... (is he still alive??)

@TheColonel76 Grain of salt, I'm known for missing details, but with him losing his arm, it feels like they should've just had him shield Shin instead of SAkamoto, let his connection mean something serious and Shin's motivated by something besides SAkamoto

A truly nice blend of violence and comedy. MRI-Kun needs to be tone down, first Final Destination 🩸 lines and then someone dies in real life because of it and now this anime save no one died. I’ve been in a MRI machine twice but thankfully I don’t have any metals but still I think MRI-Kun is trying to say something. Plus the 👴🏻🗡️is creepy but effective.

Alright, the mini fight between Tarō and Kei was definitely a masterpiece, especially the moment Kei brought up Tarō’s daughter, Hina. You’ve gotta love seeing a dad go crazy over his daughter. Too bad that overpowered swordsman geezer slashed everything up and wrecked the entire battlefield.

The fight aside, I can’t wait to learn more about the girl Hyō mentioned, Rion, who’s said to have the same strength, agility, and popularity as Tarō and Yoichi, as well as about Kei, who was apparently Tarō and Yoichi's classmate from back in the Japan Creation Clear days.

Amazing episode—the animation was flawless. Takamura’s fight scenes and techniques were the highlights of the episode. Since I’m anime-only, I’m stoked to see what’ll happen with this Slur, or Uzuki guy.

I feel like the episode ended too abruptly during a very tender moment, I would have like to see a couple more minutes. The whole episode was pretty fast to be honest. This season seems to be a lot darker than the last, and I'm not sure how to feel about that.

Ok, finally we seem to be getting somewhere.

After all of this prologue with Sakamoto meeting up with old assassin colleagues as well as new ones between a season and a half, the encounter that actually had stakes was this one. Uzuki is actually a menace and as dangerous as the old man with the katana. This actions filled episode actually ended leaving me with an impression, something that I was craving since the beginning and while kinda late I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for what's next.

Please don't disappoint me.

Such a perfect episode and this part is far better than part 1. The moment I saw him say he knows that he has a daughter, I was like kill him. Kill him until he's dead and kill him more. I do hope he doesn't target Hana because that would be insane due to Hana being innocent and cute. Seeing Sakamoto actually protect his team members is just awesome to see and you can tell he's different than most main characters. Ojiisan was a beast this episode and I can see why he's one of the top assassins in this show. Just his scenes alone are awesome and I want to see more of him.

I will say this episode and the last episode has proven TMS Entertainment that they know how to animate a good fight scene and have improve since part one. I wouldn't mind if they started animating more action anime and possibly One Punch Man since the fight scenes look like the One Punch Man manga. Plus imagine if they become as big as Mappa, Toei, and Madhouse. We need more action anime to look like this and not the generic look most anime get nowadays!!

Damn, this is absolutely incredible.
So far, this is the best episode of Sakamoto Days I've ever watched.
Seeing Grandpa Takamura with his katana, and also Uzuki/Slur being so dangerous.

By the way, what happened to Grandpa Takamura after this?
It's such a shame that a character as amazing and powerful as him just disappeared like that.

Honestly the most depressing part about this ep actually felt like they were trying to capture the vibes of the manga but even than the limited animation still fall short in areas compared to other Shounen seasonals
Like if this is the Staff Best efforts when it comes to the Animation than it's really not enough
Gaku slashing everyone in the office was just a still frame
The Slo mo can kill the pace a little
The Choreography still feels lacking
I give credit to the Directing, Use of Shadows, and Lighting for Takamura
And the different art changes for expressions
I can tell they wanted to get that right
But the Action still feels average looking and lacking the extra sauce to make it elevate the manga
