| I don’t like this anime. I’m not even sure why. It’s not bad at all, but I just don’t vibe with it. Themes like social hierarchy and all that stuff just don’t appeal to me at all. The only thing I enjoy about this show is Monica and her expressions! Like that expression she made when the big guy approached her while she was playing chess—aside from that, I find this anime to be pretty empty. |

Would Moni-Moni-Moni-Monica love horses? Probably. Everyone loves Umamusume right now.
Such a close call with a known teacher from Monica's past. I wanted to see how chaotic the magic class was for her, but she made the right choice of getting into chess and horses. Getting optional courses should always be fun.

| Bruh Big Ben... Nero best boy(dad?) btw if you had any doubt. That old teacher mentioning about Monica's achivement sure gave some hilarious reactions. Those are still carrying this anime. That Glenn felah would be important probably. A castle wins you the game only if it was that easy...smh Elliot is the best among the noble potential reverse harem members so far. Casey girl seems cool. Umamusume are great. Good too see Monica actually opening up and having more courage to meet so many people take on chess and horse riding classes. |

This I think is represented through the magic circles. There is also mana manipulation techniques which allows one to use magecraft even if they do not understand formula very well. Recall in the opening of the episode Glenn chanted but had no magic circles in his magic, while Monica did use a magic circle. I think this is the difference between Mana manipulation VS formula. Both normally require chanting but the visuals representation is in a magic circle or not. Monica can use both, specializing in formula but against weaker opponents she has no need to use a magic circle. Just my take on the info we have so far. |
| Of course Monica was going to be good at chess, she's not only good at numbers but she can strategize pretty well and take into account many aspects of war, much more than a simple mock and plain field from the board can. Her reaction to the president of the club asking her to join was priceless as it was in another way her encounter with Casey and her getting by chance into horseriding lessons as well. Horses and chess, hmmm, that sounds like an Uma Musume collaboration waiting to happen. In any case, this continues to be enjoyable as ever. |

| This episode was ok but it kind of dragged on with the focus on Monica picking electives. What's more, I didn't care much for her stepping in silently when she helped the guy defeat the earth dragon since he got the credit for the kill which may overinflate his ego and could potentially lead to putting himself in a more dangerous situation in the future thinking he is stronger than he really is. Also later on with her zapping both the horse and the bandits almost got her ran over although that did lead to her meeting Casey. |

| @TheGreatFantasia oh that is interesting, the magic circles as the magic/math formula is genius. And that constructing one would make the spell easier to control/output a desired outcome. The fire spell was generated without a magic circle, and the magic circle only appeared when the spell was launched and 'teleported' in front of the dragon. I was wondering if that whole sequence was just one formula all together or if the magic circle was only for the 'teleport' (which makes it 2 spells casted?). And Monica is also using the Eye Scope she has with magic circles so like 3 at the same time. |

| It's cute and all, but far too much time is spent on the cheap dopamine of reiterating how amazing the silent witch is. I appreciate that Monica at least has some genuine difficulties, and her opening up is some sort of progression, but it feels repetitive at this point. Don't think I'll get anything out of keeping with it. |

| @Sleeping_Knight "There's no way I can win" my ass, she's up 7 damn points  I do have to suspend my belief a little that she'd be able to take such an advantage, you could be Einstein and if you've never played chess before (especially if you don't know you can castle), you're most definitely going to do awful against anyone who knows what they're doing Five episodes into this anime and I'd be lying if I said it wasn't boring me somewhat. I was hoping there'd be some sort of character development with Monica becoming less shy, but that doesn't seem the angle of what they're going for at this point, and none of the characters are intriguing or damaged enough to have to develop. To me, it almost feels like nothing is happening (maybe the new guy and girl'll have something?). I'll keep watching to see if it improves but it's hovering at a 5 or 6 out of 10 for me |
| The beginning of episode felt abrupt. Lots of content skipped. Nothing major but it's kinda strange how glenn immediately calls her monica when it's the first time they meet. It makes it feel as if they've known each other for long. They spent more time developing eliott than cyril. Honestly good, because i kinda like him. They really don't waste time and introduced casey in the same episode too. Honestly good episode, minus the abrupt beginning. It spent time focusing on monica's newfound interest in chess and horse riding. But it feels like they're going to rush the ending. Just like kanpekiseijo. But idk let's see how it goes. |
