Printing money is a bad movie? Also, normally an arc would have to stop a lot more than just 3 times. You're getting a higher production value show, the production committee (which ufotable is a part of) will be getting way more money than if they just aired it on TV, and it's compiled into 3 decent chunks instead of spread out over 12+ episodes. For us in the West it means getting it later, but for Japan and anywhere that has decently early premiers it means getting to see it on the big screen instead of just at home. |

it's not a bad idea. this trilogy movie formula already proven by fate/ heaven feel movie trilogy. so there is no doubt.
@nirererin Yes, a well animated trilogy but with many cuts to the plot where if you haven't read the visual novel you just end up not understanding anything about how they set it up... now they say that these 3 films will conclude everything, so there are many doubts in the end, lol |

You never fail to deliver the worst take possible.
I mean... Even if we wouldn't have an actual proof, which is Heaven's Feel trilogy, then you still would be wrong, because Ufo so far managed to make every choice right and nothing seems it would change
There is a reason why Mugen Train succeeded so hard, afterall.
But as it is now, it seems like you trying your best to be wrong about everything.

Then it's incredible that you say that ufo made every right choice, when in the 3rd season it greatly disappointed expectations and with this 4th season they sucked, worst possible choice to make a very weak mini arc in an entire season, lol, like every When you talk do you always say the wrong things? |

maybe it's due to their budget being a little lower than it was back then for the first movie or the the anime has to have lower budget than so they didn't have enough money to make a second another season
@StarWars2000 I wouldn't say so, they had enough funds to animate the Fate series well, I don't see why they don't have the same with demon slayer (which takes less care than Fate) |

Well, duh. Mugen Train is THE most grossing anime film worldwide and broke many other records, so there is no reason why they would not do the same with Infinity Castle and Sunrise Countdown. Especially since this epilogue is a constant, high octane action with objectively best fights and if we add to them movie budget, we will be seeing a history in the making.
@Piromysl “Movie budget” lol, so much budget that distritic arc had better animations than mugen train which was a movie… and there are many reasons why this choice is very questionable which I have already listed, but obviously you haven't read anything as usual , you just come here to be a troll π |

The audience has feelings attached to the story, but it is a business at the end of the day.
And they are going to make BANK.
For real though, I'm pretty hype about seeing the series end on the big screen.

Or imagine if Kizumonogatari would be a trilogy. Oh, wait.
Well, yes, nothing really explains your take, because based on the amount of the content. It was pretty unlikely that ufotable put it into a single season, so there would have been a long waiting either way between. the seasons.
And btw, Mappa did deliver a show with this approach, but the quality was worse and more inconsistent. And it was SnK. With its 3 year long final season, that consists of 2 seasons with different length and 2 half movies.
Also, you can always wait for the 3 movies to be released before watching the first one. No one forces you to watch it in the theatre, and you can also rewatch them when the next one is released.
So it's pretty your problem-type of thing.

@ktg Ktg revealed and as usual I have to dismantle everything he says: they can make a long season of 25/26 episodes like they did with season 1 in which they adapted 7 volumes into 26 episodes, lol, also what is the correlation with Mappa? I said both choices are highly questionable for reasons I explained in the post. Yes, one of the biggest problems is the wait that could make KNY end perhaps later than 2030 and your solution is: wait until 2030 to wait for it to be all over π€£, as usual you never manage to connect the dots. |

@AhnimeXX one episode does not make a season, this 4 season had many boring and anticlimactic episodes that made this the worst season ever as well as a quite bad season to watch... lol, I repeat a well done final episode does not cancel the remaining episodes, which were the cosmic nothingness, if you are not able to understand it then don't even comment because you will only make yourself ridiculous |

and just to remind you that a company cant run on scraps, it requires 80000 US DOLLARS just to make a single 24 min episode of demon slayer... It is obvious that ufotable would want to make a film series but that is not the proof that they would compromise on the source material...

@Leon888 Bruh the visual novel is so long that I don't think a 26 episode season would have included all of the stuff either. Look at deens adaptation which was a mess. Heavens feel was far better.
It wont break the narrative at all. People had similar concerns when Mugen train movie was announced and then a season was announced for entertainment district. I don't think anyone is confused anymore.
I don't know if Ufotable is the one making these decisions but we are seeing aniplex, crunchyroll and Sony pictures being involved in this as well.

Ufotable decided to make a trilogy out of one of the most popular anime franchises in existence and you catastrophize it into being as bad as The Final Season: Part 5 somehow.
If Evangelion can get away with dropping rebuilds and Gundam fans are still waiting for more Thunderbolt and Hathaway, Demon Slayer is fine.

@desusama Why is this the case, who wants to wait until 2030 to see the conclusion of a now concluded manga? a long final season was fine, not these marketing maneuvers just to squeeze the cow more, I don't know how the fans manage to do this thing well considering that they are totally manipulated by Ufotable |

dividing an arc into a trilogy of films I consider it a bad choice not only for the long waits that this will entail, but also because the entire narrative will be abruptly interrupted 3 times in an arc which is a whole succession of events (and as if divided the Shibuya arc in jjk into 3 films, very questionable stuff would have come out of it), but beyond this 3 films are too few for everything that needs to be animated until the end of the manga (which are around 70 chapters with the last 2 very long chapters), I wouldn't want the 3 films to adapt the Infinity Castle arc and then rebroadcast it in installments to make more money and make the final battle against Muzan the season finale, because I'm afraid there's It's this risk, and honestly these marketing maneuvers of ufotable have bored us more than Mappa with the management of the final season of Aot

I thought infinity castle is 45 chapters long
If you include sunrise countdown arc where the infinity collapsed and they muzan outside it is 70 chapters
But they called the movies infinity castle
Not infinity castle + sunrise countdown
45 seems to fit for 3 movies
Probably won't cut any scenes
And it's a war arc so there aren't too many dialogues to make a possibility where they'll cut out some parts

@BigMama123 I'm talking about interrupted narration because many fights are interrupted and resumed later in the manga (like the Douma fight) and furthermore this would be worse because it means waiting much longer to see the conclusion of a manga that ended years ago β οΈ |

It's a good choice since I will be able to witness some of the biggest fights in shonen in the big screen with the crowd. Also, I don't think we'll have to wait that long to release globally as the previous movies have been a huge hit. So they're probably working on the 3rd movie and/or the Sunrise Countdown arc right now. @Leon888 With most anime it's not worth doing. Movies can make a lot more money than TV series if they're successful, but they also cost more to make so they stand more to lose if they flop. It's not like film series are some kind of brand new idea, either. There's been a lot of anime film series over the years and I doubt they'll replace TV series. If anything is going to replace TV series it will probably be ONAs. |

@Leon888 As I said, the visual novel is very big. A normal 26 episode anime is also not enough to cover one route. What Ufotable did was plausible. Infinity castle arc on the other hand is a relatively smaller arc. It's content can easily be animated into three separate films so their is literally no need to worry for cuts. Also the fights, while not entirely linear, are still good enough to set up three important battles for three separate films. |

@desusama Why is this the case, who wants to wait until 2030 to see the conclusion of a now concluded manga? a long final season was fine, not these marketing maneuvers just to squeeze the cow more, I don't know how the fans manage to do this thing well considering that they are totally manipulated by Ufotable
@Leon888 Anybody who really wants to see the ending so badly can read the manga. Seeing the final arc with Ufotable level movie animation is worth it for me. I watch Demon Slayer for the spectacle so this is the best possible outcome. |

for me personally. trilogy movies meant you will expect cliffhanger for a very long time of wait for sequel. And yes 3 movies mean 3 long years wait. who the fk can wait that long because I can't. 3 years I'll be a dead corpse. bad choice. they should just go with tv series and sunrise countdown as movie instead. |
