Printing money is a bad movie? Also, normally an arc would have to stop a lot more than just 3 times. You're getting a higher production value show, the production committee (which ufotable is a part of) will be getting way more money than if they just aired it on TV, and it's compiled into 3 decent chunks instead of spread out over 12+ episodes. For us in the West it means getting it later, but for Japan and anywhere that has decently early premiers it means getting to see it on the big screen instead of just at home.

maybe it's due to their budget being a little lower than it was back then for the first movie or the the anime has to have lower budget than so they didn't have enough money to make a second another season

@StarWars2000 I wouldn't say so, they had enough funds to animate the Fate series well, I don't see why they don't have the same with demon slayer (which takes less care than Fate)

Well, duh. Mugen Train is THE most grossing anime film worldwide and broke many other records, so there is no reason why they would not do the same with Infinity Castle and Sunrise Countdown. Well, yes, nothing really explains your take, because based on the amount of the content. It was pretty unlikely that ufotable put it into a single season, so there would have been a long waiting either way between. the seasons.
And btw, Mappa did deliver a show with this approach, but the quality was worse and more inconsistent. And it was SnK. With its 3 year long final season, that consists of 2 seasons with different length and 2 half movies.

Also, you can always wait for the 3 movies to be released before watching the first one. No one forces you to watch it in the theatre, and you can also rewatch them when the next one is released.
So it's pretty your problem-type of thing.

@ktg Ktg revealed and as usual I have to dismantle everything he says: they can make a long season of 25/26 episodes like they did with season 1 in which they adapted 7 volumes into 26 episodes, lol, also what is the correlation with Mappa? I said both choices are highly questionable for reasons I explained in the post. Yes, one of the biggest problems is the wait that could make KNY end perhaps later than 2030 and your solution is: wait until 2030 to wait for it to be all over 🤣, as usual you never manage to connect the dots.

First people said that the hashira training arc was trash and how ufotable just stretched it into a whole season but then the same people say that the season finale is the most visually appealing thing they have ever seen !

The first movie hasnt even been released yet and there are already some who are trashing on ufotable about their choice 😒

@Leon888 Bruh the visual novel is so long that I don't think a 26 episode season would have included all of the stuff either. Look at deens adaptation which was a mess. Heavens feel was far better.
It wont break the narrative at all. People had similar concerns when Mugen train movie was announced and then a season was announced for entertainment district. I don't think anyone is confused anymore.
I don't know if Ufotable is the one making these decisions but we are seeing aniplex, crunchyroll and Sony pictures being involved in this as well.

Ufotable decided to make a trilogy out of one of the most popular anime franchises in existence and you catastrophize it into being as bad as The Final Season: Part 5 somehow.
If Evangelion can get away with dropping rebuilds and Gundam fans are still waiting for more Thunderbolt and Hathaway, Demon Slayer is fine.

I thought infinity castle is 45 chapters long
If you include sunrise countdown arc where the infinity collapsed and they muzan outside it is 70 chapters
But they called the movies infinity castle
Not infinity castle + sunrise countdown
45 seems to fit for 3 movies
Probably won't cut any scenes
And it's a war arc so there aren't too many dialogues to make a possibility where they'll cut out some parts

@BigMama123 I'm talking about interrupted narration because many fights are interrupted and resumed later in the manga (like the Douma fight) and furthermore this would be worse because it means waiting much longer to see the conclusion of a manga that ended years ago ☠️

It's a good choice since I will be able to witness some of the biggest fights in shonen in the big screen with the crowd. Also, I don't think we'll have to wait that long to release globally as the previous movies have been a huge hit. Plus, the movies make a better return for the studios compared to the series if it's a guaranteed success

@Leon888 With most anime it's not worth doing. Movies can make a lot more money than TV series if they're successful, but they also cost more to make so they stand more to lose if they flop. It's not like film series are some kind of brand new idea, either. There's been a lot of anime film series over the years and I doubt they'll replace TV series. If anything is going to replace TV series it will probably be ONAs.

@Leon888 As I said, the visual novel is very big. A normal 26 episode anime is also not enough to cover one route. What Ufotable did was plausible.
Infinity castle arc on the other hand is a relatively smaller arc. It's content can easily be animated into three separate films so their is literally no need to worry for cuts. Also the fights, while not entirely linear, are still good enough to set up three important battles for three separate films.

If you enjoyed the time you wasted, then its not a waste of time.

And yes 3 movies mean 3 long years wait. who the fk can wait that long because I can't. 3 years I'll be a dead corpse. bad choice. they should just go with tv series and sunrise countdown as movie instead.
