| Don't like how Kei always just want to use all the abilities, being selfish and not thinking about others. He even tricked Misora with self-induced crying (that's why he went back to his hometown in the first place) and he remembered why she made resets before - to me he seems to be way too forceful to symphatize with him - if someone has to suffer for others it should be definitely him. Poor Souma though, guess she'll never find her peace :/ And if you ask me Kei won't be happy if he doesn't lose his ability too. |

| Everything But The Rain Boy, Girl, and the Story of Sagrada Arc is coming in hot. Kei meeting his mom was pretty sad. And, as selfish of a character as he is, I wouldn't necessarily say he's a bad character. At least not yet. I guess that'll be determined by how about he plan to control abilities, and how about the series ultimately ends. What I was really trying to get to is that, someone mentioned above that Kei went to see his parents specifically to self-induce crying to convince Haruki to reset. I don't think he is that malicious, or, frankly, "diabolical" enough to do something like that. At the end of the day I think his crying came out of a combination of his parents, Sumire, and Haruki and a deep regret he felt about how those situations resolved. He is stubborn about being vulnerable if anything. Though, it is crazy that even after all his kicking and screaming about Sumire "needing to live a normal life," when it happens, he is like, "I don't like this. Time to reset." So, at the same time, he's definitely fickle. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't end up appreciating the timeline where abilities remain in Sakurada. |

| Another amazing episode. Kei's reunion with his mother was touching and I expected him to cry, but seems like it didn't happen. At this point, I don't expect these last episodes to be disappointing, but I'm still scared. So he still kept one of those photos and managed to do it. It was weird seeing Sumire happy and a normal girl. What I'm confused about is how Urachi's mother used her power instantly, but we didn't see how it happened or what happened. |

| Care free Sumire, acting and thinking like a person is awesome to see. But OC he remembers and rejects her again. His parents were still alive this whole time?! What?! I guess I could see why he wants to get reality back now though since he is erased from even his parents somehow. Why did he come to this town to begin with, as a child, if this was the price.. This is the kind of logic/thinking you'll only find in an anime/manga or game character. lol Just like the big bad here. Also... his mom is... nice! :D Cute little loli too. Poor Sumire... :'( This ep left me very conflicted... I am totally against power erasure is general. (a bad trope in media today) And UTTERLY reject the big bad's, only in anime, reasoning. (seriously, from a kid he just decided that powers were wrong and dedicated his life to their erasure) But seeing this ep... I can't help but feel that this might be the happier outcome here.. At least for most of the main characters. Especially Sumire who just gets treated like shit in this series. (I hope for a harem ending for her even though the chances are nil with an MC like this) She may find it painful too but at least she thinks of herself as the real person. And I just know... have a very bad feeling.. I mean I can't see the bureau going away or changing in any major way.. it's just the sort of thing that seem too ingrained in japanese social thought as a "necessary evil" and I can't see the series rejecting it outright. Especially since the series is going to great pains to make the bad guy be totally using and manipulating the bureau for his own ends. (i.e. innocent bureau) Which is why i'm scared for Sumire, given the horrible and tragic fate of the last girl with her kind of abilities.. who just happened to disappear after a tragic life of being treated like a monster by pompous assholes who dreamed up reasons why she couldn't be allowed to use her powers. I really hope Sumire doesn't end up as the witch 2.0.. in fact, given the shit she got already.. that would be fucking gross on a whole different level.. Especially if everyone (including her) plays along nicely because of acceptance of the bureau. I also lost a bit of respect for MC over how he views this Sumire as not the real thing. Fuck that shit! Next ep looks to be another Sumire suffering heavy one.. :'/ |
