Islamophobia is as silly a word as Naziphobia. There is nothing illogical about fearing Islam.

Dissociation is nothing new. If you hold x belief and someone else does as well but operates in a way that you feel violates x belief (especially in terms of violence) odds are you're going to say they don't really hold your same belief and likely vice versa.

We see this in Islam, we see it in Christianity, we see it in Judaism, it's even seen in the secular realm and on down the list. If you believe that Islamic terrorists are practicing the same religion as moderate one's (which do exist despite the ignorance saying otherwise), then do you also apply this logic across the board? Is the LRA Christian? Is the NLFT Christian? Or the plethora of other self proclaimed Christian terrorists groups? How about Buddhists? Was Phra Kittiwuttho and other militant Thai/Burmese Buddhist sects really Buddhist?

The truth is violence is everywhere, in every religion (outside religion too), and it's prevalent. Most of it receives few headlines, unless it's either a mass shooting or Islamic violence, but that's the nature of the beast that is the media. The issue isn't Islam itself as a religion, or Christianity or any other religion. It's a form of fundamentalism that embraces militancy in it's crusade to be the 'guardian of truth'.

It's certainly prevalent in the Middle East in Islam. There is no denying that, however, consider for a moment that it's prevalent across all religious groups in poor and/or exploited nations. Especially if the religion in question feels threatened (whether perceived or actual) in some way. This in no way justifies, nor excuses the happenings within Islam in any part of the world. Nor does it excuse some of the refugee's behaviors that have been exhibited. However, this idea that there is an inherent flaw in Islam that causes violence is severely misplaced. I don't think people are actually aware of how many religious terrorists groups there are world wide, or exactly how much terrorism occurs globally, because it doesn't effect them. If it's not a threat in your own back yard, then its not worth covering after all...

Political fear mongering, demagoguery, media sensationalism, and poor journalism, further compound the problem and people eat it up. There's no better place to see this than these forums, where a good portion of the topics are click bait, that serve only to fuel misinformation and prey on peoples fears and/or insecurities. It's just a bunch of parrots repeating what they read in some shitty newspaper or from some guy's youtube channel that proclaimed himself an expert and strung together the most 'damning' clips he could find to support his agenda.

Not all Nazis were extremists. There were many that were perfectly peaceful moderate Nazis. After all, Nazism is an ideology of peace.

Washed out cowardly statements, didn't expect anything more. Like "I'm against all violence!" Cliches like that are nice to avoid the actual topic.

^Like it or not ISIS and MANY other ISLAMIC terrorist groups are Muslim and do the things they do in the name of Islam.

You literally have entire countries and millions upon millions of muslims who believe in Sharia, who believe freedom of speech is NOT a good thing and who will condemn terrorist acts, but still won't condemn the vile things that exists in their religion.

As for "Islamaphobia" I'm talking about the fact that people who criticize Islam are NOT bigots fro criticizing an ideology.

An Ideology that is very clearly flawed.

People who take violence as their measure are obviously incorrect in doing so.

Yeah, only barely 6% of Islamic people are terrorists.

Which means that the other 94% are NOT. More than 6% of Americans have committed huge crimes. How come they're not treated like terrorists?

There is no "american ideology", so the comparison makes no sense. However there is a "muslim ideology", the Quran, and it's quite violent. If some muslims don't accept some violent parts of their holy book, it's ok, but it doesn't change the intrinsic violent nature of the source of their beliefs. And lets be honest, the majority of muslims are not terrorists, but they are almost all ok with women being inferior, gays being murdered in fucked up ways, marrying little girls et cetera.

That kind of looks like you're trying to subtly blame Christians for the bad that Muslims have done by arbitrarily using a label that includes Christians. . .
Pretty much...
Now you're wondering if there's white text in any of my other posts.

Over there, I'm everywhere. I know that.
