| Yep this happened to me with AnoHana. People saying it was the saddest and most tearjerking show ever. I was prepared for crying like every episode. The I watched it,and all I got out of it was teenagers yelling at each other over problems that I just couldn't understand. I was so disappointed. After that I just started to expect the worst from pretty much anything. It feels so damn good to pick up a 6.70 rated show,thinking "well I'm just gonna watch it for the lulz,lets see how long I can last without dropping this." and then it turns out that show exceeded my expectations and I watch it to the end. I don't get on hype trains, because they are just bound to crash 90% of the time. |
| Sometimes. When a series gets a ton of hype, and people make it out to be the best thing ever, I can't help but feel let down when it turns out that it's not. |
| The more hype there is, the higher the expectations. The higher the expectations, the larger the disappointment when the expectations are not met. That's why it's better to not have expectations to begin with. |
| I wouldn't say hype, more like my expectations because of the hype. It used to affect me but now it doesn't. I've learned not to expect much out of any series, it can ruin a good one. |
