Kimi ni Todoke- I don't hate it. BUT: This title is pretty hollow, there only is a single plot path and nothing else. I liked Sawako and a few supporting characters. Btw: seriously, Shouta?! Is that Monkey D. Luffy? Ok, it's shoujo, maybe I am the wrong audience, but still. Two seasons, which you can fill into 8-10 episodes. Meh.

Bleach - Double edged sword to me. The approach of Souls, bankai and stuff is pretty cool. BUT: 1. The characters - There are some really good ones(Suì-Fēng, Byakuya Kuchiki etc.) and there also are some really REALLY crappy ones (Chad, Lolly, Menoly) which are just not realistic or lively or seroius but highly ridiculous. Also the main protagonist (Ichigo): this guy a scumbag number one out there. 2. The presentation sucks badly: The guys try to protect the world... wait, the world? What world actually, do we get to see or is that world getting shown just a bit? NO, NOTHING. Just a generic: we do what we must. Baaaaad.

Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! - The title is fine for a limited fun. The characters are doing well, I enjoyed the series on a fun level. But besides fun there is like really nothing, the romance arc sucks balls like no tomorrow. The show tries to pull some drama at a certain point and then... huh, nothing? Pointless, nonsense. There are much better comedy shows, this one is just neither fish nor fowl.

Kore wa Zombie Desu ka? - I liked the show overall. The first season is pretty much waste of time though. Near the end things juts get from funny over crazy to highly futile. But again: the title is funny if you don't take it too seriously.

Shakugan no Shana - I only have seen the first season. That was actually too much already. Just like many other shows, the approach is pretty good. But the characters, jesus christ. Above all: the supporting characters are soooooooo generic, so dumb and hollow. They act highly absurd without the show even to a slightest point trying to explain why.

Seto no Hanayome - There is fun in there. Really, the show is funny at the beginning. After few episodes the fun is getting limited to nearly zero though, cause all we can see are same jokes being repeated over and over again. Also, the art style and animation - they suck. I mean, to me animation and stuff do not mean so much and the show is pretty old, but still: I have seen old shows which still look much better than this one. Pretty much waste of time.

I totally agree with you, especially about Chuunibyou and Seto no Hanayome: both started very funny in first episodes, but then they became boring with these repeated jokes. Gekkan shoujo Nozaki kun is not like that. It saved the genre and is the only comedy worth watching from last years (IMO of course).
Oh, when Bleach was focused on Rukia rescuing it was so much better than when it became about "saving the world''. I'd still recommend first 3 seasons - they were very-very interesting.

On a more serious note, looking at the thread title reminded me a saying I heard somewhere. It says that the opposite of love isn't hate, but rather indifference. I'm pretty indifferent to the Fate adaptation airing right now. Throw in SAO, Log Horizon, Zankyou no Terror, Initial D Final Stage, Gochiusa, Noragami, and Golden Time in there for good measure too. I'll just leave it at 2014 goods, or risk violating a few key requirements for membership in this club...

1. Angel Beats! The series just tries to be too much.
2. Clannad + Clannad after story. Way too slow for my liking. A lot of the drama was too forced for me.
3. Anohana. To the ending the series got melo dramatic.
4. Kimi ni Todoke. I hate the main heroine's personality of putting others before herself. Unrelatable to me. Plus, the characters don't develop from the drama.
5. Ef: a tale of memories. It didn't really standout much to me. And this is a nitpick but I despised the character designs.
6. Akame ga Kill. Edginess overload.
7. SAO + SAO2. "Quality writing"
8. Attack on Titan. Eren becoming a titan just seemed like an asspull. It removed the "survival" feel it had to it. Armin is annoying.
9. 5cms per second. The 3 stories didn't really connect for me.
10. Mirrai Nikki. The main protagonist acted so dumb I wanted to face palm. The romance is forced.
11. Elfen Lied. The plot realied on too much amnesia convenience.
12. Cowboy Bebop. While I don't necessarily dislike this show I don't get the praise for it. Nothing really stood in the story department.
13. No game No life. Not a fan of the ecchi genre. The protagonist always winning kinda made a lot predictable.
14. Guilty Crown. How inconsistent the characters are, are laughable.
15. Durarara. Let's not talk about what a train wreck the second half was.

I agree on your complaint about the character designs. It's a small complaint, but with the rest of the visuals looking amazing the weak and generic character-designs just stood out as something negative for me. I don't hate the show though, but I can agree with you on the fact that I feel it's overrated.

I don't really understand what you mean by this? Do you mean the stories didn't connect with you as the viewer or that they didn't connect with each other?

Agreed with some of the others, like Shingeki and SAO. I wouldn't say everyone loves SAO though, it has a LOT of haters.

Nice nick, by the way.

Ah, right. No worries. I certainly don't agree with you (I found it to be extremely accurate, not only in it's portrayal of how love feels but also on how it fades over time) but since it's a personal thing I can see why you would think differently.

Well I think I gathered enough titles to create another list.
1. Fairy tail. The show literally spells out nakama power and just breaks all the rules it set.
2. Zankyou no terror. The villain was very lacking and it didn't deliver the how much effect terrorism really has. It just felt like 2 boys bombinb buildings with the society around them not caring.
3. Code Geass. First season was enjoyable. Second season was a mess. Characters just 180ing in their beliefs without a particular reason was dumb.
4. Steins;Gate. I don't particularly hate this series. However, I definitely do think ut is overrated. A lot of the characters were 1 dimensional architypes. Plus the date sim part really felt unnecessary.
5. Tokyo Ghoul. I will never understand how a society that has ghouls eating people look the same as ours minus some ghoul hunters and the ghouls. People seem to be very calm. I also hate how most characters aren't even given enough screen time to actually get fleshed out.

+1 for tokyo ghoul.
the Tokyo ghoul world doesn't really make any sense. Theres no way ghouls wouldn't be the dominant specie of that world.
More than that it upsets me that the "good" ghouls think there is a place that they can live along side humans. The fact that they cant survive on anything except humans means that theyre an enemy to humanity and the fight is on. They should really join aogiri tree at this point. (I forgot what organization was called)
only kaneki makes sense in this regard, because he used to be human and hes confused - which is why I accept that his motives are weird.

I didn't even mention the problems with its pacing, the useless second season and its pretty lazy animation.

That's quite the lengthy list!

I know I got the saying from somewhere outside of anime, but as for Nabari no Ou it's been awhile since I pitched that one (6th episode watched back in Oct 2012). I just remember the dude with the Gatsby cap being cool.

Definitely agree with this list. People don't understand the amount of plot conveniences Code Geass contains.
Madoka really lacked in the character department.
Another is just "another" edgy show.
Guilty Crown is worse than Code Geass which shows just how much of a train wreck it is.

Guilty Crown

I have a love hate relationship with this show. While I enjoyed it the show was also terrible. On of my many guilty pleasures when it comes to anime.

Nagi no Asukara

Another show that gave a perfect score for but deep down wanted to rate it much lower. I enjoyed the show tremendous but as a person that has watched over 1400 shows I saw the same crap repeated over and over again. I would be wise to note that I also hate love triangles and someone always gets shafted in the end.

More to come but I have a meeting to run to. XD

Because I genuinely enjoyed it and though it a great show. Despite it many flaws and failed plot devices I found myself wanting to watch the next episode. The critic in me is not a fan of the show it should have gotten a 7 but I enjoyed watching it.

Oh same happened to me: I gave perfect score to NnA. I was so hooked with it knowing it's not well-written, and I didn't like the couples with which it ended.
I also gave perfect score to Zetsuen no tempest which is also not the best show out there.>I don't know why lol. ^__^
