Shu means group... that made me smile. Kurosu was a crazy-cool guy and a caring father as it seems.
All in all this flashback was needed for us to understand that Keido is an even bigger son of a bitch than we thought and that Kurosu was the true genius. Remember how he calls Keido his friend and that he didn't want to drag him in this mess? Ooh Keido you're so gonna get raped, you disgusting piece of shit.

The explanation concerning Shu's void was pretty much as accurate as many of us have predicted before so nothing new there. I liked the sequence where Shu tries to give back the voids but the owners refuse and basically give their lives in Shu's hands. After seeing this I really, really hope that Shu survives together with Inori. It would only be fair for the group to receive a happy end after all the trouble they've been through. But at this point I can't tell either for sure unfortunately- will he live or die? He is determined to sacrifice himself but will we see a surprise? I most certainly hope so.

Well, the preview looks so sweet. Seems like everyone- even Daryl- supports Shu and shit is about to go down. Gai, remember what I said about Keido? The same will happen to you, son. Shu, the true king, is on his away. 10/10

Wow, um, that last sentence by Haruka about how Shu's name means "group" made me tear up a little. Basically Shu is going out there to fight for all of their lives once again, but this time it'll be even more difficult with Gai being a bitch and Inori becoming Mana o_O!

Not a very action filled episode, but I liked it still.

Yeah, I was looking forward to that moment ever since I saw the preview :D
Anyways, they finally explained exactly what had happened before the series started and can now fully devote the episodes to kick-ass action. There will definitely be a cliff-hanger at the end of the next episode. I just hope they don't postpone episode 22 by a month like they did with episode 12

the flashbacks were really sad...but Shu's mom is hot and his dad looks just just like him. When I first saw the series, I always wonder why Shu had a little bit of blonde hair but now you can see that it was a family thing LOL. But I hate the guy that murder Shu's father.

Mana was probably a hipster and decided to have pink hair before anyone else.

Good episode,Shu=Group.

So we finally got some info about many things,Shu father, his Mom(she is cute as hell),the relation between Koudou and how he betray his friend, what is the virus so in general it was good episode.

Also we know what Shu void is....but they wont kill him specially since if he dies half the cast dies.

The end was nice the reconciliation with Shu and specially with Souta...even that he needs to die because of what happen with Hare!!!

Next episode the action begins the final battle begins!

Thoroughly enjoying the show. I'm afraid that if Shu dies, I will probably hate the show.

Gai became an incredibly stale character with no significant influence on the development of the show. A superb ending for me would consist of Gai getting ridiculously destroyed by Shu and Keido dying a very, very painful and disgusting death.

its only temporary, trust me in a few minutes/hours the haters will start flocking in, nitpicking and trying to find ways to bash the show

Well, if you take into account that this was actually the most decent episode out of the last few ones this would only make sense, wouldn't it? While there are some certain people who are only jumping on the band wagon when bashing this show there's no denying that this anime has several partly really severe flaws which would justify the many dislikes each of these polls receive.

Where did Mana come from? Also Daath is confirmed for being the imortal troll of the series

Imortal trolls: Kyuubey(Madoka), Satoshi(penguindrum), Orihara Izaya(Claims to be 21 forever)(Durarara), Huey Laforet(Baccano)

end card by the artist of "dogs bullets and carnage"
Daryl x Tsugami is confirmed!

I hope this anime can get season 2. I loved it so much. Can't wait to see the next episode. I don't want this show to ends either. It sooo good. Everyone have different taste but this one really fit my taste. The whole story is really different.

This was actually a decent episode which is suprising considering this show is usually crap. For once we didn't need some over the top action and major drama. Still the end was annoying but other than that it wasn't too bad. I am still betting that the last 2 episodes will be terrible.

I don't see how they can't go for a second season here to deal with the whole Daath issue, unless they intend on leaving major plotholes and rush everything at once in two episodes... which is very likely.

I think why people are for the most part reacting positively is that it's the first non-WHAM episode since number 8. There were no gigantic plot siderails or stunning revelations, just a lot of methodical (if somewhat half-assed) explanations as to what went on. Really helped out, and I'm thankful for that. :'3

Nice to see some longer explanation of what actually happened with the virus and it was done before the big fight. 2 episodes for Shu to kill both Daath and Gai seems unlikely without being rushed? Maybe another season?

I'm not sure if someone else pointed this out already, but Kurosu sure made an awkward cure to the Apocalypse Virus. I mean it only works on people U-17! Unless Inori was just feeding Shu false info from Gai at the time to limit Shu's Void use.

And will Shuichiro's revival ever be explained? Same with Gai.

And I'm gonna play bs guessing game here and say that Inori is some empty vessel that Daath/Shuichiro created to later house Mana (to have sex time with Gai! I mean make Gai her Adam.)

Bleh I forgot this is one of those anime you have to watch brainlessly to enjoy. yay for inori service?

EDIT: Now that I think about it... how does a vaccine that works with certain genes and can only be used on people of a certain age group work? Do people in the Guilty Crown world magically attain something other than nucleotides for genetic code after the age of 17? Actually the whole concept of Void is just messed up. Trying to use fake science to explain some crazy phenomenon is not the way to go.

what i think is that because age under 17 or equal to 17 means the body is still maturing, when you hit 18 your practically an adult already and hence your body or physical properties is NOT gonna mature further if not anymore, you know since the apocalypse virus and void genome is tied with evolution so its not far fetch to tied it with the evolution of a young person into adulthood and that point is called teenage life which is under 17

Shu = Group lol i thought Shu is just short of letter N to make it Shun = Reject

and Shu's bioligical mother was hot she looks like Mari from the Rebuild of Evangelion Movies

Sorry, but if I recall correctly the actual age of physical/mental maturity is at 23 or 27 years old aprox., and it doesn´t necessarily correspond to the concept of what society deem that teenagers are now adults (commonly 17-18 years old).

Well, good clarification episode. It's a little too far down the season for my taste but hey, they're doing things in messed up ways anyways. Hopefully the build up for Shu vs. Gai continues to escalate. The villains are severely lacking in background detail and motivation information so I fear that the battle will be actiony but baseless other than the Lost Christmas crud being thrown around.

Well, we cannot deny that by explaining everything, they also messed up the previous information we had about certain things...again.
The most notorious example would be the Voids: from being originally people´s hearts they are now fragments of Mana´s crystalized form after her disintegration during the Lost Christmas incident (or that´s what I managed to grab).

What I understood is that during lost christmas some fragments of Mana were inserted into some people's voids, not that the voids were Mana's fragments.

What? No. Voids are still peoples hearts it's just that during the lost Christmas incident her "shards" were scattered around and mixed with other peoples voids. I guess the people with a High Genome Resonance were the people who collected some of her "shards" and I guess when Inori was around them more she collected them. Which makes sense now looking back at some episodes.

What I want to know is. What the hell is up with Gai. Whose side was he on when he was the leader of Undertaker? He was a test subject to become the new Adam, then he escaped, then he was found by Mana then Lost Christmas happened then he leaves, then he comes back as a leader with only one goal in mind, be with Mana again, or embrace her. He said his goal has been the same back then and now. Gai's entire past is confusing as hell I mean fuck.

On top of that the Void Genome. What was it's specific role. Was it's role help treat the Apocalyptic Virus? then there's Mana who andnejugnuj tngbnjmhbiktmtikmhfsdf sdffhykjuikiuklupyklputklppltryphltphln..... Fuck it.

I'm just gonna rewatch it a couple times to connect the dots

ROFL at my own misconception :D
But yeah, Gai doesn´t make sense. Considerating what Shuiichirou has done to him, it´s quite contradictory that they´re allies now.
(Unless only Shuiichirou knows how to bring Mana back into Inori, which doesn´t make sense since he originally wanted to marry her and shouldn´t have needed Gai, and it doesn´t make much sense either he´s also by Gai´ side now when his own son can kill him anytime, unless Shuiichirou has any back up plan to get rid of him if he attempts anything, unless ARGGGGGGGGHH!!! Dx)

Wasn't the Void Genome supposed to be some anti-Apocalypse virus measure? Too lazy to will myself to find the narration when Haruka left the church to meet with Doctor Ouma.

Overall, I think this was a decent episode.
Turns out, Shu's dad was actually a pretty cool guy. I wouldn't mind hanging out with him.
And this episode answered a few questions, cleared up some things. However, there are still things that need to desperately be answered. And I still don't get who this Daath guy is.
To sum it up, this episode was a nice breather from all the action we've been getting lately.
I can't wait for the next episode.
MY WONDERFUL DARYL IS GONNA BE BACK.
However, he's hooked up to all this weird stuff ; A ;
What happened to him?!?!? What did they do to him! I'm scared for his well-being by the end of this show.
WHAT'S THAT THING ON HIS CHEST?

And I love that end card.
