Next episode was spoiled for some people because they saw the premiere, so some people know what happens in ep 8. No one knows how it ends, however. Or anything from ep 9-11. |
| OMG THE SECOND I REALIZED THE OTTER WAS KIRYU I SCREAMED. THAT'S SO FUNNY. THE BLACK SHADE WILL DIMINISH AND THE OTTER WILL BE REVEALED TO JUST BE A SUIT AS KIRYU SITS IN IT. In reality it seems Mabu and Reo are being played by the Otter overlord guys. Meanwhile Keppi shows he's somewhat freaky in that he's so quick to tell Kazu to kill himself that perhaps both sides leaders are quite the evil menaces using their magical girls how they want to. Maybe Mabu and Reo will team up with our three and the truth will come out. As people speculated if Mabu gets his heart fixed by Keppi, who may have been the one to put him in this doll state to begin with so we can't be sure, then this could go somewhere. I may be going too far but it's definitely interesting. So Kazu is back to his old self. A cute genki boy who's optimistic, strong, happy, and cares for his friends deeply. Something to note is that he wore cute little pink shoes and a girlish and pink outfit this episode. Maybe he does tune in with his feminine side and perhaps crossdressing grew on him. Ultimately the three are finally connecting but due to Kuji and Kazu connecting it's making Enta jealous despite the friendly face he puts up. We did have a scene before where Kuji blushed when he saw Kazu drinking so even back then I wondered if this would be a love triangle of sorts, hehe. What's scary is that Enta now has all the dishes he needs to make a wish, what will it be, will it be one to get Kuji to go away... Enta has been an emotional fireball in the past. As for how Enta forgot a leak would happen when they finished is beyond me. At the point where, you know, a secret comes out, it's perplexing why you would go and be the one to pull out the desire. Speaking of desire / love, Kazu stopped carrying his box of secrets and with the mechanical heart of Mabu's perhaps it's incapable of love or Reo's love will make it real or something.. I can't say I'm fond of Mabu and Reo's relationship yet. Keppi and Sara's relationship is interesting. I was under the impression he didn't know her, and we know from the manga I wonder if Sara, who gets people to look for her lucky items which end up being what the zombies want every time is being a secret agent for the Otters. By the way, the costumes this episode were cute and I think making the non major characters cut outs is interesting, it definitely saves money, leads to no awkward background character problems, and gives this anime some style. Good stuff. |

| Yay! Reo and Mabu's dance returned. Enta is pretty skilful at having two faces if I'm honest. I really didn't expect him to be the one who stole the dishes. Pretty intriguing episode overall. |

| Balls? I accepted the buttocks because that's good, but balls? what the heck, that's a bit too much for me. The final enemy has appeared it seems, lying otters. Pretty good opponent for our honest kappa's I think Enta actually went insane after having his ass eaten out too many times by Keppi |

| Another great episode, I'm glad I decided to read the prequel manga and the tweets from Reo and Mabu before watching this one, it turned out to be perfect timing. Here they are, btw: http://19.04se.cc/sarazanmai/reomabuarchive/ There's also a useful page with Sara's program transcriptions for easy reference: http://blog.19.04se.cc/2019/04/sarazanmai-archive-of-saras-text-crawls/ There were lots of references to what Reo and Mabu were doing in the manga, a lot of nice puns (Mabu being a ningyou and Mabu cooking ningyou-yaki; otter-lie aka (kawa)uso-uso parallel) and all that. Giggled that one of the shots showed an air conditioner in the police station, that's important, as manga readers should know. Their relationship is pretty tragic, though. Reo can't accept the new Mabu for being "mechanical" and not the one he knew before (and well that's true, his character IS different), but that may as well be a metaphor for not accepting person as he is now as compared to before. I think it parallels the relationship between Kazuki and Enta, and how the latter perceives the former. Though I can be mistaken because Mabu's case is clearly different from Kazuki's. He still loves Reo (probably, as he tried to say that, presumably). But let's get to something more happy and lucky, Sara finally found Keppi! Both seem to enjoy each other (understandably so). I LOVE how Keppi got infuriated again, understanding Japanese puns (with the help of people who actually know Japanese haha) elevates my enjoyment ten levels higher. With all this attention to otter-lie parallels and the amount of time the word "uso" was repeated in the episode, I think that the leaked memory might've been a false one, and all the littering was done by the Otter Empire. Though maybe Enta just IS jealous after all. It's also interesting how the otter song (now about balls and lies) starts playing while we're seeing Sara and Keppi kissing together...and then disappearing. It is possibly connected to the scene of Reo searching for Keppi on a map - he is his "hope" (supposedly for Mabu's rescue, remember ep. 6 and how happy Reo was to see the photo of Keppi in the factory). The otter scientist also refers to Dark Keppi as "hope" (kibou). Did Sara help the cops kidnap Keppi for some period of time? Maybe hypnotise him? There's clearly some plan at play here. |
