I Binged the first season, so waiting is going to feel painful 😭 my #1 GOAT Oguri peak is back 🔥🔥🔥, loved seeing march. Some of these girls have such big mouths lol. “I’m going to DESTROY you, Oguri!” “I’m not even GOING to that race 💀”. Now I have something to look forward to after Japan's depressing loss at the Arc today. Woke up early and everything.

@TheColonel76 What movie? You better try the game soon and make sure to add me while you're at it lol.

Glad to see fatty back in the second cour though I'm bit surprised to see that this only have 10 episodes. This episodes is certainly takes its time slow to seo up for their upcoming rivalry in the races. Most of them are aiming so they could face their rival again or taking revenge but for Oguri she wants to fight Tamamo Cross again without any care of the distance. It's good to know that she's not just "no thoughts head empty", other umas are surprised with how high her aim on the Japan Cup lol. Watch out for yet another good pairing between Ardan and Chiyono O there. Mommy freak is lurking around passing by to greet us. Oguri better unlocked her potential level 3 Gourmand real quick if she wants to have a chance against Super Creek in the stamina game.

Oh yeah I guess there’s technically two movies because of Road to the Top being made into a movie. I was referring to Beginning of a New Era, also lol yeah when I get to the game I’ll add you

@t_tobago so not even Arima Kinen this season :(
@WaterMage I haven't read the manga, but thie opening visuals barely focussed on the foreign rivals. Unless they change it later in the relevant episodes, this means Japan Cup arc isn't that long. Both OP and ED exclusively show Tama and Ogurin. So, personally I think they might just adapt Arima Kinen 1988.

@Laplace_kun my Uma knowledge is based on only game. And I haven't at all looked up this period races. Only things ik is from Super Creek career. And Arima Kinen will feature her(probably). But only 1 race for Oguri for entire season is weird unless they drag one race for 3-4 episodes. 2 episodes of Tenno Sho was long enough as it is.

Am I the only one who is kinda sad that Fujimasa March cut her hair short? She looked absolutely stunning with her long hair hairstyle. Then again, she looks really cute with short hair now, so not complaining.

Oguri you FAT FUCK , I LOVE YOU!

First week of part of Cinderella Gray, starting to watch march in her cute short hair. God those phones are rediculas. Did you know that some Uma actually have human and Uma ears? crazy right? meaning that they proabaly dont need them phones.

Oh this is a March episode, ok, Tokai Derby was the big bag last season for one third of the show. but is now being talked about like its a BIG status one of the Umas have accomplished. she just spoke a paragraph length in one nano second. god I love how anime this whole show is, the pause, the gasp, the seriousness over some rivalry, so anime.

Oh wait, Sakura? not just March? nvm then. OGURI YOU FAT FUCK! I LOVE YOU "is mayonnaise an instrument?" head ahh.

That was a cute episode!! cant wait for more!

So nice to see March in her race wear! As far as I am concerned, the IRL horse she's based off of never won or raced a G1 race at all, so I wasn't expecting that we would actually see her in it. Very nice!

The 2nd half of Cinderella Gray coming back after Spring's impressive showing, Oguri Cap's objective is not slowing down from hereon, towards the Japan Cup!

10-FEET's OP is already leaps better than Alexandros's OP in Part 1.

From the outset, Fujimasa March facing her fears head-on, as such with the minor character of Yamano Southern, though with all of her qualms and jealousy, just could not compare to the passion that she had while sparring with Oguri Cap in Part 1, as her eternal rival.

On the other hand, Oguri Cap is ready to face the Japan Cup arc, though she's not quite there yet with the loaddown from Sakura Chiyono O on the races available to participate in. Alas, Dicta Striker thinking she can put one over Oguri Cap in participating in the lower races, the latter is already aiming higher thanks to her loss to Tamamo Cross.

The field resistance with Yaeno Muteki, after witnessing Oguri Cap and Tamamo Cross's intense race, in preparation for the Kikka-sho race ahead, it's all hands-on deck for her to take the Double Crown.

The 2nd Cour is going for the races alright!
@KANLen09
i think the exact opposite actually lol Part 1 OP was solid but this song is genuinely terrible...like 2/10 for me. To each their own.

Really happy to see this back again, I really enjoyed the 1st season.
I like how much March has changed, that was a big win for her.
Expecting a really good build up to the eventual next race with Oguri & Cross.

It was a good first episode but perhaps not as engaging as I thought it was going to be, I suppose it makes sense though; the conflicts for the season need to be set up first. Still, this episode didn't quite manage to hook me like the first episode of Season 1 did.

Decent start for this season, glad we saw more of March, hope she comes into the big league soon, rest of the episode was just teases upon teases, gotta say the animation felt a bit weak compared to s1, i don't remember that much cgi in the races, i guess they're keeping the budget for the big races

Also opening is fine but not as iconic as the first one sadly.

With the first half of the episode being an adaptation of a side story chapter, I wonder if the production team decided later on to add it into the season, which might explain why it wasn't as polished as usual? I haven't seen anyone else talking about it, but that first half was significantly worse looking than the Tracen Academy scenes in the second half. Lots more still frames and the like, and that race was in that section, too. They always used CGI in the races, especially during the earlier parts of them, but I'd agree this particular race was somewhat below average.

Welcome back to the best sport anime ever. And a great start!
I’ve enjoyed seeing the opposing views on the new OP by 10-Feet vs Alexandros’ brilliant effort for cour 1. I prefer Alexandros by miles, but music is subjective so it’s fine. Still like the new one. So much going on, much competition and ambition, derpy Oguri moments, new hot trainer… the next 3 months will be great 🐴

I recently finished watching part one, so not much time has passed and I am happy part two has begun. I am pretty certain that it has gotten a bigger animation budget too. Looks like the focus isn't just on Oguri Cap with March getting some of the spotlight, but at the same time there are other competitors also looking to win so I think this may well be a pretty exciting cour.

MAAAN, THE OPENING SUCKS, IS ONE OF THE BIGGEST DOWNGRADES I'VE SEEN IN A WHILE 😭

I can't believe they actually adapted "Gaiden: The mermaid left behind", that's awesome! It's short and kind of boring but I really appreciate that.

I like Dicta Striker, she is actually pretty chill.
And I love these girls even more than teams like Spica, that's because we can see these girls actually want to surpass each other (since they actually had races together), and they hang out chatting in their classroom, the gym and stuff, not necessarily during training sessions, they feel more close to each other than the girls from the main anime timeline.
Sorry if my english is bad (っ˘▽˘)っ~~~

It's great to see Oguri Cap and the others back in action once more. It's only for 10 episodes this time, but I'm sure the racing and the excitement from said races will be as enjoyable as the first cour.

March got herself some good screentime to start things off. She was in a slump of form after Oguri Cap left, but I'm happy that she reignited that strength of hers against the Tokai Derby winner, Tamamo Thousand, and avenge her loss against her tough talking opponent. Not to forget, her new racing attire looks rather elegant on her. =)

As for Oguri Cap herself, she's back to winning, although her inspiration on wanting to race against Tamamo Cross again is still as strong as ever. Seeing Dicta Striker incorrectly predict what race Oguri would run next, then getting very flustered about it, was pretty amusing.

The new OP song is good, but the first cour's OP from Alexsandros is what I prefer. The new ED, on the other hand, is really good and I do love how cute the visuals are showing a much younger Tamamo Cross and Oguri Cap hanging out together. Very wholesome and sweet, for sure.

I’ve read the manga up to volume 10. If it’s only 10 episodes, they’ll probably cover up to the Japan Cup and the Arima Kinen.
Yamano Southern is referencing the horse Fujino Northern.
In the real world, Fujimasa March and Oguri also raced on the same day.
Dicta Striker probably wanted to race against Oguri at a distance he was most comfortable with.

Even as a Japanese viewer, I get a better impression of the Alexandros's OP than this one.

I couldn't afford the Prime subscription, so I paused it. When Prime Day approached, I got paid, and Amazon said, "You like Oguri, right? We'll charge you less than $1 for you to watch the episode this week". AWESOME!!

What I said earlier might or might not have been serious. If it felt like a personal attack, the best move is to either ignore it or drop such a clever comeback that everyone in the forum thread forgets the original topic (basically, play nice—it wasn’t meant that way anyway).

And if you're an AI bot or crawler, welcome. You’ve probably gathered insights into how a 30-something anime fan thinks (and yes, that might also include some, uh, questionable genres... You get the idea).

Finally! The curtain has risen on the autumn G1 racing season!
It's already been over three months since the global version of the app launched, and so much has happened. Honestly, I've seen so many pretty and fire moments, both in Umamusume and in real life... That sometimes I wonder if they even need me anymore.

In s1 ep13, I introduced the Tenno Sho (Autumn). Except for Opera O, who happened to appear in the gacha at the time, I focused on winning horses that haven't shown up in Umamusume yet. I think it could be interesting to keep picking out these kinds of "hidden gem" races in the future.

For players who've run countless races in the app, Japan's racetracks have become quite familiar. There's Tokyo, the largest in Japan; Nakayama, known for its tight turns and famous races like the Arima Kinen and the HopelessHopeful Stakes; and Kyoto, where the Kikuka Sho and Tenno Sho (Spring) demand bizarre and complex builds. Each track has its own unique layout.
Meanwhile, as Minnie pointed out, Kasamatsu has a very small layout. Its straights are short and its turns are extremely tight. On top of that, the deep sand surface makes it hard for horses to hit top speed, so naturally, the ones that can get off to a quick dash and take the lead have the advantage.

In Europe, where modern horse racing originated in Britain, the courses retain the legacy of simply fencing off an area and racing from "here to there." Many are highly undulating, with few pure-oval tracks and lots of distinctive layouts. In Japan, a few meters of elevation change is the norm, but at Paris-Longchamp, home of the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, horses climb and descend about 10 meters. Epsom, where The Derby is held, is even more brutal: horses climb more than 40 meters and then descend 30 meters.

In America, racing was introduced during the colonial era. Early on, the dominant form was quarter horse racing over 1/4 mile (about 400 m), which was extremely short and extremely fast. As racing spread westward, longer-distance races gradually became more common, especially on the East Coast. Over time, racing in the U.S. standardized around dirt tracks, which are far cheaper to maintain than turf, with counterclockwise oval layouts and minimal elevation changes. This structure laid the foundation for modern American racing. It's even said that oval tracks in motorsports, including NASCAR, have their origins in American horse racing.(Churchill Downs)(Pimlico)(Belmont Park)

Japan, by contrast, has far less flat land and population concentrated in limited areas. In that sense, Japanese tracks might actually be a hybrid of Europe's distinctive layouts and America's oval courses... wait a second. what's going on with Australia's Moonee Valley? A long, rectangular track with a home stretch of just 173m...
Apparently, front-runners have an extreme advantage there. It's even worse than Nakayama.

By the way, every time I see Tama-chan doing her "white lightning" in intro bit, I can't help but think she looks just like TXR's Swift Emperor.

@ZwHwY I'm wondering if a single season break between Part 1 and Part 2 wasn't quite enough to keep it on par with Part 1 production wise. Obviously they've been working on this well before Part 1 ended but still.

@StallionXD No the opening wasn't THAT bad, it was mostly the running part near the end that looked a bit off. The directing for the opening wasn't quite as good though, the first season had a better designed and paced opening. The song on the other hand, well that's up to you whether you like it.

I think they're just pressed for time right now, a single season break likely wasn't quite enough to finish up production to the standard they would've liked. So we're seeing "minor" adjustments made here and there to save on time. They're really smart about how they're doing it though so it's not really affecting the quality much.

It's still as entertaining as ever. The depiction and direction of the race scenes were truly exhilarating to watch.
Come to think of it, the big-eating scenes aren't depicted much anymore. In Seasons 1 and 2, scenes of massive eating in the background were quite prominent.
