| Not gonna lie, this episode was rough.. especially for my poor eardrums. I hope they can course correct, but while watching I kept wishing the show was titled 'Buddy Assassins' instead of 'Buddy Daddies'. They are gonna need a real good excuse for not dumping that kid back with her mom as fast as possible. |
| Not so interesting as I expected. The girl is really annoying. I guess, that's how kids actually are when they don't have telepathy to back them up in the most important moments. I get that this is supposed to be a comedy, and it's kinda messed up, but I would have preferred for her to be a sad little girl with some pitiful backstory... or just, well, less loud and chaotic. |
| Miri, my adorable girl. She's just as chaotic as I thought she'd be and I'm absolutely enjoying it. They finally found out about her mother and looks like they'll try to find her in the next episode. I adore Miri and Papa as well. Rei is too flashy. LOL. The OP and ED are amazing. Looks like people don't understand what a kid is supposed to be. I guess they never acted the same way as her when they were kids. One honest piece of advice, please don't have kids if you can't handle the most basic thing a kid does. Horrible future shitty parents in this thread. |

| Even with its second part which was filled with more slice of life fluff than the first, Spy X Family has raised the bar so high for anime with the "childcare" tag, that for the foreseeable future it will most likely solo and spoil any other anime with the tag that comes after it. Also not EXACTLY what I'd call a "childcare" anime, but Barakamon still holds the title for best kid in all of anime. Naru solo's your favourite kid in anime, even Anya. The girl from Clannad After Story comes close though, as well as the girl from the Yakuza Babysitting anime whatever-its-called. I dropped that one though, the anime as a whole got kind of meh. Anyway, maybe we should actually talk about today's episode of Buddy Daddies. And despite it's clean animation, fun characters and fun premise and what not, I'm still not sold on it. I'm still sitting on the fence, feeling 50/50 about it. Is it because of what I said above, that Spy X Family has spoiled every "childcare" anime that is to come? Or perhaps I'm not alone in thinking that this kid is getting on my nerves.... and looking at everyone else here, looks like some are thinking the same thing. She's nothing special, it would be nice for her to be, but she doesn't have to be. She just has to be serviceable enough as a kid character to check off the "childcare" tag. But the problem isn't that her thunder has been stolen by Anya (although even if Anya didn't exist, I would still think Miri is just whatever), but that she is.... ...irritating. So, how do we fix her from being irritating? There's one simple solution: just have her not interfere with the buddy daddies when they go to work. She doesn't have mind-reading powers, so she doesn't have to ASSIST them by any means and write messages on doors using ketchup saving them from getting blown up. She just simply has to STAY OUT OF THE WAY, so we can see some cool assassination action, and not some goofy chase involving chasing a kid who always has to pee. Oh, having her mess things up will be integral to the plot later on? Ok, I can see that. But I can also see how you could EASILY write your way around that. I mean even as a more turn-your-brain-off kind of show, if all this included in the writing... -Miri being strong enough to flip over a couch -Buddy daddies being professional assassins but still deciding to bring a kid who they know to be a nuisance to an urgent mission -The henchman at the door not noticing the chunky taser in buddy daddy's hat despite being the first line of defense to a highly secure mansion of a highly paranoid man -Buddy daddy not immediately subduing the henchman and getting out with Miri, and instead tries to out-talk a 4-year-old to get out of the situation -Buddy daddy not being able catch a running 4-year-old -Bathtub-bed edgy buddy daddy not shooting the actual target while the target was close to the window -Buddy daddy running in a straight line amidst a flurry of bullet trails and getting out completely unscathed, yeah sit the f*ck down lycoris recoil ...then I'm sure you can write a way in that Miri here is a bit less annoying? Maybe?? Yes Mr. Pre-Cum, that's how a lot of little kids act like. That doesn't change the fact that none of us want to see that sh*t. It's realistic, yes. But I don't think a show that has bullet-time is striving for realism. And even still, having a kid who's NOT utterly annoying can be realistic too, right? This is the kind of show where it seems they were free to brain storm and go absolutely ape-sh*t in the writing room. So why not write in a kid character who's like, likable? |

| the complaints about realism are silly for this anime because it's obviously a comedy. if the humor isn't your style that's perfectly fine but it's not going to be some grimdark hyperrealistic assassin drama with a deep cutting exploration of gun violence trauma in children. even the most hyperactive kid probably wouldn't be laughing and running around in a shootout, it's just SUPPOSED to be played up for comedy, so I don't mind it. I really enjoy all the characters, even if miri is a little annoying at times (that's how kids are), and I'm looking forward to whatever rube goldberg machine-type situation is going to keep miri from going back to her mom in the next episode. the ED was super cute. rei sleeping in the bathtub and smoking under the range hood, MIRI WITH GUN, and kazuki scooping rei up while he's still shooting were highlights for me. so far this show is definitely my favorite that I'm watching this season! (funny enough, the PA Works original last season, Akiba Maid Sensou, was my favorite that time around too) |
| miri can be cute and all but she's a troublesome kid, what is to be expected from a 4 year old. kazuki & rei were brought on a mission to assassinate someone at his mansion but that totally backfired when miri said "papa" to kazuki, and that's how chaos unfolded and someone else needed to clear the job. pretty okay episode, liked the gunfight though. |

| Damn Miri really causing them alot of issues lol. Atleast she is cute tho even when holding a glock.That mission also fould not have gone much worse, luckily the shooters have stormtrooper aim and can't hit anything. That other agent looks menacing as well!! |

| So grateful for this series because now i am more certain that i don't wanna have kids lol It's nothing that happened in the show tho, even tho the premise turned out to be maddening for me but since i'm curious i won't drop it ((((yet)))), but damn THE VA WENT HARD WITH THE CHILD NOISES!!! I MIGHT JUST WATCH THIS ON MUTE THIS CHILD IS SO ANNOYING I CANNOT STAND HER. The only anime kid i'm okay with is Anya, period. God i'm traumatized by the noises |
| This episode was a perfect reminder for why I'd never want a child. Overall, this show seems to go the comedy killer route even harder than Spy X Family. Logic and seriousness have no place here. For a show that bets everything on comedy, it didn't make me laugh all that much so far. Miri tends to come off so annoying it's more painful than funny. Rei is a very cool character though. I love his attitude! |
| Thank you to Buddy Daddies for reminding me why birth control is very, very important~ Miri is absolutely chaotic, as adorable as she is annoying! Hina Kino is doing a ridiculous job as Miri, she sounds exactly like a 4 year old does, so I feel like her being super annoying is literally the point lol. I actually really like her character for being a (relatively) realistic kid, and she has great chemistry with Kazuki and Rei! I'm super excited to keep up with this one this season, honestly it just seems like a lot of fun, even if I have to suspend my disbelief for a lot of it (like the bullet dodging aha), it's just really enjoyable to watch. I've actually been laughing out loud so far, the comedy is really well done! So far it's just interesting seeing what shenanigans Miri gets Kazuki and Rei into, and how they somehow get out of them. And there's also like, dark undertones underneath all of the comedy, so it'll be neat to see if (and how) they follow through with them. I'm also excited to know that this is anime original; it's been a nice surprise for the season! |

| Miri is really an annoying brat. Also the whole setup is stupid, she's so small she doesn't understand most things then how in the world did she manage to reach the party venue all be herself even using a train!? Added to which this is the second time she's seeing a shootout and keeps on laughing, any normal child would have been scared. |
| I'm surprised this show isn't getting more popular, its pretty entertaining so far, and different from Spy x Family. Love the OP, could instantly recognize the Yoasobi sound. The ED is nice and chill too with a cute animation. |

| I'm really liking the show but it's making me feel really stupid. I thought the dude on the pics was Kazuki, but the characters on the show act like it isn't and the synopsis contradicts this idea. What am I missing here, am I just dumb? |

| I'm not feeling this show; the MCs are a tropey cut rate Odd Couple, and although I've seen a couple of Miris in my life, they are the exception, not the norm. I guess being the exception is the point, but whatever. I may give this show another ep or two before I cut it. PA is an expert of giving us good shows, then releasing a clunker. |

| That was just obvious stupidity bringing a 4 years old child in a job like this. But it's also understandable since it's their first time taking care of a child. They could've asked Kugi for help. Loved the ED, I discovered DURDN on Spotify, so happy to see them work on anime for the first time. The last part of the ED where the three of them were sleeping together was so adorable. |
| A little thing : Has anyone here noticed the inscription on the gun of the evil assassin at the end ? It felt like a good detail to add, they didn't have to but it shows this guy seems ruthless. |

| I honestly didn't hate seeing Miri act like that, like some people here said, it's normal from a 4 year old.. it's just, what I can't accept is, how can she smiled, laughed and seemed really excited hearing gunshots and seeing blood? Well, maybe she doesn't understand that yet, but it doesn't change the fact that scary things are still scary. I'm actually worried about her! (and leaving a 4-year-old little girl home alone is a real concern...). Please forgive me for saying this but I'm sure if Miri hadn't joined them then their teamwork would have been really cool and great. I hope we can see some serious action from Rei and Kazuki before the end. Oh and I really just realized, the one who sang the opening was Ayase? No wonder I felt the beat was like Yoasobi's songs xD Edit: I just remembered one of my stupid memories when I was 5 years old... So, hmm.. maybe, the reason why Miri can act like that is because of the lack of parents who are supposed to act as parents (not as adults who only feed, bathe and lull her) and teach her many things. Let's hope that as the episode progresses, Kazuki and Rei can learn to be good parents so that Miri can also grow into a sweet little girl :) |

| Fun and entertaining show so far overall. It's shaping up nicely and I hope it continues to do so. Like most people it seems, I think Miri is potentially going to be a hindrance to the show. The VA is very, very shrill. You have to hope that the "problems" we see Miri causing in this episode are handled and fixed by the characters. That was the point of episode two, is to show Miri is a handful and the characters need to learn how to deal with her. If EVERY episode is her messing up their plans and screaming all the time, then it won't be great. Hopefully the point of the show is the characters finding balance. Kids in anime are very hit or miss (just like live action movies and such). Anya is successful because she is a unique oddball and meshes with the plot and characters very well. The other child characters in Spy x Family work well too. Another child character that works is the youngest girl in March Comes in Like a Lion (can't remember her name). They apply realistic young child traits to her in terms of the way she acts and talks. She's endearing and likable. Miri is quite exaggerated. She's overly cheerful and disobedient. I think there's ways they could have had her do what she does, but better. If she were weird like Anya (without directly copying the character) or simply more realistic in terms of being a child, then it would have been better. Still have high hopes for the show and looking forward to more. |
