The episode was good, real good but I'm not posting to comment on this one specifically. This arc has me tempted to switch over to watching subs, Crocodile's dubbed voice actor is terrible while the seiyuu on the other hand is phenomenal. I find myself constantly re-watching the scenes with Crocodile again subbed. I do like every other aspect of the dub though. For example, the new ending theme (can't wait until we get a new opening by the way) is sung by Caitlin Glass in the English version, who is also the voice of Vivi. Oh well, just throwing that nagging thought in the back of my head out there.

To each his/her own of course, but OP is one of those series I just can not imagine not watching in Japanese. The voice acting is just too good.

Oh, I ended up switching to the original Japanese track down the line (as I caught up to where the dub was, and wasn't going to wait to continue the best arc), and much prefer it to the dub. One Piece was early enough into my anime watching journey that I still hadn't watched any subs at that point, aside from like a few Dragon Ball specials. So One Piece actually ended up as my transition into a basically full-time sub watcher, with the only exceptions being stuff I watch with my brother. Wish I switched over sooner, Crocodile is definitely the biggest mistake on the dub's part, but overall the sub is just stronger than the dub in basically every way.

This was one of the most brutal episodes of anything I've watched. I've seen some horrible stuff happen to individuals, but nothing this bad on such a grand scale in an anime that I was connected to at least. I said before that I liked Crocodile because he was a zany villain as opposed to how I like Arlong because I hate his guts so much. But now, that's started to change. For him to orchestrate this has definitely put a pit in my stomach. That being said, all my hate went into Arlong for what he did on an individual level and my hate for Crocodile spans all of his main soldiers as well so it's less concentrated currently.

But, like every villain Crocodile just has to wear his flawed views on his sleeves as if to say "this is why I'll lose!". Last episode he mocked those who had trust in others, and this episode stated how he despised those hypocrites who are for the people. I'm positive like everyone before him these will come to bite him.

I was shocked the entire episode, it just kept getting worse and worse and brutal and awful all in the best ways. The scene where Bon Clay was disguised as Cobra made me sick. Initially I had thought it was Cobra himself and it was his plan to get rid of all the love for him before attacking Crocodile or something so that he could sacrifice himself without the people going into panic... but the second it went too far I knew it was Bon Clay and everything turned around. And when Koza was shot abruptly I knew for a fact this was going to get horrible. Seeing Koza adamantly fighting for the people, outraged the king would shatter all their hope like that only to get shot like it was nothing.... You guys have gone too far!!! They even nearly killed a kid, although if they went that far I don't see why they didn't just finish him off to stop him from playing any kind of a role in stopping this all. Also, I do hope the rebels think about why the king would attack with a massive ship full of exactly what they need for a second.

Crocodiles done some horrible stuff, he's driven an entire country into war amongst themselves. I can't imagine Cobra would have wanted to fight back but with Shaka making the decisions I can't say I entirely blame him. Of course he would want to show his trust in the king. So Mr.4 kidnapped the king and Pell's presumably dead too. I guess the only things that could save the day now are a mix of: Cobra escaping and getting trust back via possibly the kid waking up as well, Vivi escaping and having a meeting with Koza, Sanji and Chopper finding out what's going on and setting the crew free, and Ace coming back. I assume Karoo may be able to do something too, but I'm not sure what exactly; maybe find Cobra? There could be more, but their back isn't entirely to the wall yet.. they still have some ways out of this. Although, I can't imagine they'll save the day without a lot of damage happening first.

I suppose it would have been better to go speak to the rebel army than to attempt to fight a warlord of the sea who's welcoming you in huh... This was one of my favorite episodes yet, and it solidifies this arc as having the best world building to me. So much intensity on every side. Arlong still beats Crocodile as an individual villain but I can see that changing soon.

I knew the king wouldn't say such thing and now everyone believes its the king and everyone's going to war and it goes like how Crocodile wants, people under him the Baroque Works they have such ability they can manipulate people and make everyone believe what they want to or what they want.

And Vivi being a princess of Arabasta falling into ashes,so that's why she's so motivated to get out but Luffy can't get out so if they can't get out what Happens? If Chopper were there? no Chopper can't do anything what about Tashigi? nah she can't do anything either ahhh.

It's quite the chilling feeling to see a villain's plan work out as planned. All the carnage that's been happening and everyone taking up arms under the notion of defending the Kingdom they love by killing one another is just too cruel of a sight.

Vivi's already distraught enough hearing about it but I can't imagine how shattered she'd feel once she lays her eyes on the destruction herself.

I knew that wasn't really Cobra but even then, the plans already moving ahead. Things are indeed very dire.

I wonder how many years it took for Crocodile to plan this. Did he plan it down to the very people he hired, like Bon-Clay and the other two?

Yeah...I wasn't buying that shit. It was pretty clear that it was Bon Clay/Mr 2 in disguise with the BW millions and billions posing as official soldiers.

Mr 4 and his partner were the ones behind the Cobra's kidnapping. And Mr 1 and Doublefinger were the ones who supplied the rebels with weapons.

Crocodile truly turned almost the whole country against Cobra.

Poor Vivi. This situation seems so irreversible. That kid could calm down Koza and the rebels I guess but he hasn't said anything yet.

New ED was alright

Of course, there is no way King Cobra would do that.

Damn, what a horrible plan from Crocodile.

So freaking good, I liked Mr. 2 a lot, but now not so much, pretty much want to see a very HELLISH death to him
Based on what's going, maybe crocodile has a past that ties a hatred with albastia or cobra, since I dont think he is the "I have no reason" type of guy, well I hv to say, it was 2 plot twists in one epsiode, I thought King Cobra was geniunly fucking selfish, but yep, just the plan for Operation Utopia, well easy 5

Crocodile and co. shares eerie resemblance to the modus operandi East Indian Company employed to get Indian subcontinent into their grasp.
Very intriguing indeed.

I had a feeling Mr.2 would impersonate the king. This is definitely the most dire situation straw hats have been in yet. Sanji and Tony your our finale hope. Crocodile is S tier villain. (Even if he did the whole evil you giving the whole plan away thing)

This is probably the most dire situation that the Straw Hats have been in so far, a country on the brink of war, a king's reputation literally in tatters thanks to Bon Clay impersonating him and saying dreadful things that he will never say in a million years and now the rebels are declaring war on the palace and possibly ransack and burn the place down to the ground. I was pleading for them to stop during the whole scene where the fake King Cobra was making his peace to the civilians or unpleasantness as it were. I didn't believe it was the real King Cobra for a second because Bon Clay was literally flubbing his prepared speech. And if I've got this right, Mr 4 and Miss Merry Christmas have kidnapped the real King Cobra and are probably holding him hostage somewhere else out of reach and held under lock and key from the looks of it. And Mr 1 and Miss Doublefinger were both adding fuel to the fire by giving out the means for the rebels to start their attack on the palace with weapons no less.

Crocodile is certainly a monster for turning the whole country upside down with his group's manipulation and chaos. I'm really liking the new ending it's very Vivi this one. Reflective and yet hopeful just like Vivi herself, also helps that Caitlin Glass her VA is singing it as well which I think is a nice touch there. It was one hell of an episode there so much drama took place in this one. Really good all around.

Man, this episode was frustrating to watch. The truth will obviously come to light soon-ish, but knowing that didn't stop me from getting upset.
