Man, its been over 6 years since i've seen season 1.
Anyway, what a terrible 1st episode. Class, class, VIP VIP A A B B points points points. So much useless bla bla for some shitty fictional exam. And stop fiddling with your phone ponytail. FFS !
I'm sure this will get better but this ep was absolute garbage.
Its really funny because back in s1 a bunch of people were like no s2. instead we get s2. and s3 too.
I'll be honest, I have no idea how 900k people watched s1. Seems like "only" 300k watched s2, thats a pretty big dropoff, though still way more than other anime considering
Honestly i dont even know what to say. s2 after 5 years, and in 2024 s3
Last time we left off, class d just got 200 points, so the gap with class c is less now
Meanwhile ichinose and class c, class a
So is every arc going to be just some fancy stunt for class d to make points, class d only needs about maybe 400 more points to overtake class c. of course its easier said than done
Tbh i was expecting class c to roll over earlier, maybe at the end of s2, or who knows
One other thing is that apparently the novel has ended already but s1 only covered 3 vols
And well whatever
Like its not a huge deal since the school is clearly rich as heck. though in theory, an allowance of "just" 1000 per month per student, for 300 students, thats 300k per month or 3m per year. not a small sum but not unfathomably large either
No idea about class b but. class c is clearly like, lol, but its not like they'll just roll over and lose.
While class a a bit of arrogance, but they're clearly not going to be easy either. they did imply that the top classes were struggling to get points too
Class d would probably need to pull some crazy stunts to catch up to class a/b, though they're not that far from class c yet
Funny thing is since this is s2 they just show us the op right from the start
s1's op was a big headache too, so much and yet so little, because the characters in this anime are just like whut
for the most part this is not even talking about the 2nd and 3rd years. but shrug
s1's op song was something, but s2 idk, it definitely sounds different thats for sure
its quite uncommon to see the op straight up have duplicate shots.
they said that the students are restricted on going out, but are outsiders also restricted from entering?
last time we left off it was still summer vacation, whenever that was. although idk
in theory they could have gave up on the test at any time
so anyway the whole thing is basically mr mc more or less single handedly won the competition by himself, but then used suzune as a shield. though of course the class, flawed as they are contributed
it is really strange though since obviously he's trying to manipulate, at the same time manipulation.
its a weird feeling. they're still on the ship and the next test has already started?
so whatever it is this time is deliberately putting mr mc and kei together, because you know, rip kei screentime in s1, she probably only showed up for like maybe 30s in total.
and well whatever
so some outrageous test this time, but it seems to be almost entirely mindgames
really headache on the rules, long list of rules, complicated game theory, and actually working out how to game the system
so yeah, again, is every arc going to be like this now? mindgames and trickery to gain/sabotage points
i mean like at the end of s1, the school will know the results. presumably the smarter students probably either guessed or figured out the correct events anyway, but being outplayed will still result in the points gain or loss
also this is pretty much an opportunity for mr mc to actually get some points after using it up in vol 1 it has never really been compensated to pull stunts again
technically speaking if mr mc or suzune also get the 20m points (highly doubt it though) would they use it?
its really funny how they're like "oh btw guys reminder who these people are in case you forgor in the five years"
cant wait for suzune to not show up at all
because there are eight groups, its theoretically possible to get minus or plus 400 point swing, which is a total of EIGHT HUNDRED points on the table in the maximum scenario. assuming i understood it correctly
after the stunts that happened at the end of s1 will anyone trust class c again?
i mean its like whatever, even if the other classes figure out that mr mc is behind everything, actually winning is another thing
also you know plot armor
oh look ichinose is in the same group? the plot seems hell bent on keeping her relevant i guess
this time the test lasts 3 days with some weird rest day inbetween, whatever that is
i'm still not sure how things will turn out, since there are eight groups in total, the results could just cancel out and end up with nothing
and the point swing is fiarly substantial, even class a "only" has like 300k points right now. though what you would do with the points is a different question. even ichinose "only" has like 2m points lol
the other aspect of course is that not only do we have the class d shenanigans, the school is also forcing the classes to interact with each other
still wondering what daheck is going on with ichinose. i'll be really sad if she stabs us in the back someday
the test rules is still a headache but its like a modified prisoners dilemma i think?
its kind of funny how every game is a prisoner dillema, cooperate and risk, or everyone just betrays everyone and loses anyway
yeah the way the game is set up is specfically to pit class cd versus ab because of the member disparity
i do wonder like what kind of real life application these kind of games are simulating
not sure if its just me, syndrome, difference in adaptation, or it feels like the perspective is very different now? hmm
meanwhile who knows what kind of spin mr mc is gonna do with kei now. she seems very unhappy thats for sure, but hmm
like i have a bad feeling about this anyway
kei seems to really have some reaction. also well i mean she's flawed in her own way i guess
not entirely sure how the test is supposed to proceed like this
Something something kei, but otherwise the ep is mostly just introduction
For a first ep its kinda whatever, and the op is and ed is also kinda whatever
No sign of arisu or most of class a actually. Actually I just realized how on earth do they have 8 groups of 4, that would require 32 members, but we saw that class d only has 25?
Anyway presumably kushida and suzune wont be showing up much and its whatever kei's dorama is. Also rip sakura, but who knows.
It seems the ED completely gave up on the point system from s1? It kinda hardly meant anything anyway
S1 covered 3 vols in 11 or 12 eps. While it seems s2 is 13 eps long, soo either they are cramming 4 vols into this mess, or they're gonna take their time with 3 vols in 13 eps.
Great first episode. Sadly the ED is kind of bad and I do prefer the first OP but at least the OST is still just as amazing. The one that played in the trailer and while Ayanokouji was talking about the cases sounds amazing.
The whole part about the 4 cases sounds a bit confusing but there are definitely a lot of things that can happen.
Kei crying in the shower was pretty weird. Time to see if her character really becomes good or not.
Come on man, where is that Noragami season 3 masterpiece. We want it, Bones!
It's kinda wild to me that the airtime gap between this 2nd season and the 1st season being 5 years but anyways this was a decent episode. Good op and ed, the op is actually quite better than the first one and the ed feels kinda the same so nothing much abt it.
It was pretty difficult understanding the whole special test but I kinda understand it at least.
