| With the recent hacking I just had to watch this. The first episode is weird as fuck, but honestly I'm digging it. |

| Damn,I think someone from the classroom was pulling prank on them but poor lain who feels lonely decided to reply and chat with this prankster everyday. The mom ignored her because I think she hates how her husband is attached to the internet. Look at the dopamine rush he got when he was using the internet so he ignored Lain's answer. Currently Rewatching the show,I didn't like it the first time because I was new to anime so I ended up disliking,fast forward 6 years I'm giving it a 2nd chance. let's see if I'll like it. |
| I feel like we (the audience) are missing something. Perhaps Lain is already in the Wired and she doesn't know/forgot? Or perhaps she isn't but we are meant to feel that she is (at least I am feeling that way). She seems so dissociated. I like it, I have a feeling I'm gonna have to think/contemplate lots from this anime..... |

| An interesting episode. First impressions were... a little meh, but at the same time intriguing. The production quality is low, but that's to be expected since this was aired in 1998 (holy f, that's 25 years already.) I was a little lost on some scenes, but there's a lot to interpret. I think I can get a fairly good grasp on the storyline; there's a lot of focus on the internet and the virtual world, the dad works with computers and technology was still new at the time of its release so I can guess that's where the mystery lies. Maybe people killing themselves are somehow transported into VR via some shady experiment organization. The artwork is suitable for its time, and it's almost adorable, it reminds me of this old show I used to watch as a kid. Taotao Panda, was it? It took me a while to make the connection, but the use of drums (?) for the soundtrack reminded me of a game called Pathologic 2, that came out in 2019 (with the original having been released in 2005). The buzzy sound in the background to create a sense of eeriness worked well. I'm not sure if I'm going to continue, my standards may be a bit high, but we'll see where it goes ^^ |

What a nice and refreshing thing in anime that they don't talk too much. But because of that I'm a bit confused.
| @VVill I'm not sure if it's a thing with production quality, but I found it confusing too. The dad's reactions were kind of creepy to be honest. But I get what they were going for in most scenes I think? |

| I saw that c code the teacher was writing on the chalkboard yeah it's not easy. I'm trying to learn programming myself and I wish I had it taught to me in school least at to some extent. Anyway glad to see it was not nonsensical scribbling on the chalkboard. Another thing about Lain I completely do not understand the direction it's trying to go in a lot of anime it can be easy to predict how it will end with Lain i just do not understand at all the dead girl emails is she dead yes or no? Or what is it about god? |
| First episode and im already in love with this show. I already love Lain as a protagonist, i like how she's a quiet girl. Though i feel like something bads gonna happen to her. (Nothing better happen) The atmosphere of this anime is also really great.  Look how cute she is! |

| it's Lynchian and it clearly offered plentiful inspiration to The Matrix just having really gotten heavy into anime a couple years ago, it's really awesome to see just how much anime influenced and was influenced by all other kinds of media. it really does hold true that everything is derivative |
