Shinsekai Yori is the only anime I've given a 10. I wrote a review on Shinsekai Yori too. Wanna read it?

Full metal Alchemist- Brotherhood is my first.
I have had only 3 series I have given a 10.

Your Lie in April was just my second
Berserk: The Golden Age Arc barley qualified. It would have been a 9.5 if it was an option.

the story in naruto isen't really that bad but what really lowered the score for me is how many fillers there are in the show

I get what you're trying to say. Well for me the filler in Naruto isn't that bad. Naruto Shippuden have the worse fillers. Either way, Naruto was the first anime I watched and I got hooked pretty fast.

shuffle (even though it is not in my favorites) I refuse to change my score on it or re watch it because it was a 10/10 to my once very casual mind it was deep in my harem ecchi phase and I wanted someone to have a gf/bf and this show delivered but the reason at to why I won't re watch it is because I know (with my current mindset with anime) I would not enjoy it at all .second would be claymore which after my harem ecchi phase helped me gather all pieces and made me see most harem ecchi is shit.

funny enough it isn't in my faves either

Kuragehime. It just felt so new and fresh from what I'd watched before.
It's not my most favourite 10/10 though. That would probably go to Anohana.

For me it'd be Sergeant Frog/Keroro Gunsou! I liked it a lot when I was younger, and even now it keeps a very special and nostalgic place in my heart. xD

Although I usually put many anime series in high regard, I'd have to say the one I really appreciated and felt deserved that crispy 10/10 was Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso. Now that, I believe deserves to coin the term a "masterpiece" IMO.

I outgrew a lot of the anime I fell in love with as a child (DBZ, Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Digimon, Fighting Foodons, etc). I'd say the one that left the strongest impact for me was an 80s anime called Urusei Yatsura because of the large cast of characters and the zany shenanigans. I feel like the anime has held up very well and is an influential piece to a lot of well known romantic comedies. I also gave Tenchi Universe extremely high regards as a kid and I still hold it to a 9. Yu Yu Hakusho and G Gundam are definitely highlights of my childhood.

I went on a hiatus for anime and I did uncover Neon Genesis, Madoka Magica, and Utena in the past 3 years and also rewarded them a 10 out of my 500 + anime list. I still feel Urusei takes my favorite of all time simply because my love for it has yet to wane, but we'll see over time.

I really want to just find some time to watch Urusei one day. I feel you on the G Gundam and Hakusho

Way, way back when I first started rating stuff, I decided to never give anything a 10 because I figured there was always room for improvement.

Haibane Renmei was the first show that, for what it was trying to do, pretty much executed it flawlessly in my opinion. And the presentation (music, art, animation) had no flaws to speak of either. So it was the first 10, and after that a "10" gradually just came to mean a show I personally liked to an absurd, over-the-top degree.

Uh, FMA: Brotherhood. But it's a 9 right now.

What was your reason for lowering it to a 9?

I set the bar higher, that's all. I'm quite sceptical about giving a series 10/10 now, but it's still a big achievement to get a 9 from me.
What a beautiful Duwang.

The original Fullmetal Alchemist series. My sister had me watch that one before Brotherhood, so I had no idea what expectations were or how it could possibly get better.

You must not be fun at parties, just answer the question *hint* He said close to a 10*

Your analogy is invalid. I take enjoyment in appreciating art but I wouldn't be exactly "partying" if I were to read La Boétie, for example. Unless reading about human condition and its relation to slavery is matter to put a cornet in my head and throw confetti.

Same goes for "Grave of the Fireflies". I'd so bust my moves in joy watching this clownish anime!

Still, my point stands. I rate most of my anime 7 or 6 depending on the efforts put on it.
8 to 10 is for the titles of exception putting at use the rules you quoted like the Ghibli movies.

I haven't thought about it while posting my previous answer, but here's an interesting topic for yall'

Do you watch anime to be rubbed the good way?
If so, isn't that making you sensitive to pandering?
Taking these points into account, is enjoyability a "must go for" notion or is it a demagogic one?

Mirai Nikki, because the plot, character development, heck everything about it is great. If you're a sensitive type of person, you'll love this anime even more as there are many heart wrenching moments, some where you cringe, cry or even laugh. A must watch for all!

I looked through my anime list, probably Aria the origination and sequels or Watamote or Kyousougiga.

Aria and watamote changed my life, changed my personality and how I view the world.

Kyousougiga is still my favourite anime and I can't tell how excited I was knowing the creator/director is directing Kekkai Sensen.

I tried to avoid giving 10/10 since it is score for smth that is ideal (and those things does not exist). But after watching Clannad: After Story... I know I will change its rating in the future, but... Every time I go to this anime page I hear Dango Daikazoku in my head and I just can't :(

I think it was Mushishi. It was one the first shows I watched after seriously getting into anime and it was so different compared to the usual stuff I knew. I still remember the very first seconds of the first episode clearly, it was so magical, To this day, it's still one of my favorite series even, and will continue to be for a very very long time.
