| Man such a powerful episode there I was so near to tears with this one god this anime just keeps surprising no matter what, first we get a reunion with Kyo and his teacher and then we see his actual true form with the removal of his bracelet. Tohru is just so kindhearted that even though she was scared of Kyo in that form, she didn’t back away and actually embraced him for who he truly is and what he means to her as a whole. I could really feel Kyo’s pain when he was trying to get Tohru to go away even when he swiped at her it was just painful to watch him struggle like that. I don’t know I feel like I connect with Kyo because I had a tendency to have outbursts and get hot headed when I was a teenager and feeling like no one accepted me in life and I totally understand how he feels at times. I didn’t think I’d see the day when I’d get to the final episode of the first season but there ya go. Finale here we go. |
| The fact that all these assholes are just using Tohru like a healing token (or otherwise) is crazy. Akito, Shigure, and now this Shisho guy. Don't get me wrong, I understand his perspective. Having a grandfather like that, and now growing to love Kyo as a son, you'd take on such a risk. But the risk doesn't simply involve Kyo resenting him though. They literally NEVER acknowledge how they're also risking breaking poor Tohru here. Again, I'd excuse him since he probably saw this as the only chance and was willing to take the risk, probably believing there was no other way. But the fact that no one, and I mean NO ONE was at least acknowledging the prospect of mentally breaking someone completely. Using someone's kindness as some sort of currency like this was fucked up. This could have traumatized her, by not only surprising her with this pretty traumatic sight of Kyo (not trying to be cheeky but that was the whole point), but also of being unable to assist, to embrace a really close friend of hers. And let's talk about how none of them even considered to at least tell her about their shenanigans. Could you not have at least told her? Maybe at least give her the privilege of responding and knowing? So that she could've at least prepared?? I've thought about it, and really began to wonder what effect it would have lost had they told her. Really, there's none, maybe aside from dramatic effects, but making it this fucked up isn't even funny, perhaps disingenuous at best. They're really just using her without even acknowledging her. Anyway I just thought that was beyond deranged. Aside from that, I did like the episode :/ |
