Yeah, one of the first anime series I watched was Sailor Moon on CN, and it was very entertaining with good storylines, and it made me like anime, up until I seen some sexier anime, and I started thinking, "woah! this is much different from most American cartoons!"

I still like Pokemon. Childish and all it still has a place in my heart... until Johto or so, after that is just redundant. The first movie tho, pretty great.
It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; What is essential is invisible to the eye.

But does the heart have the right perspective?

The first anime I watched as a kid was Sailor moon, followed by more magical girl shows [I blame my elder sister].. I have a sense of respect for it, since it got me into anime and eventually, art, but after rewatching it and those other shows I can't help but think they're pretty stupid.

Active sometimes.

Heck yeah, Robotech was awesome!

Though I haven't rewatched it recently so I don't know how well it holds up...

Yes, I still think fondly of the anime that got me into the genre, Cardcaptor Sakura. I haven't actually rewatched it, though.

Nope, since my first anime was Tokyo Ghoul which i absolutely loved at first, but then started reading the manga and my affection to the anime disappeared.

I definitely do like my first manga though, 'cause it's Tokyo Ghoul as well, which is even now my favourite manga of all time.

Whenever I watch MAR it always gives me the nostalgia I felt when i first was introduced to both anime and the fantasy genre to that extent be in mind this was like over 10 years ago, so some old stuff wasn't as inclined to fantasy as Mar, so i still feel a sense of wonder to when i was introduced into anime from it

I think fondly of the days when I thought that Naruto was the shit and I was running like the "ninjas" at school but the fondness comes with me wondering

"Why did I watch this crap as a kid?"

I still go and watch a DBZ fight from time to time for kicks, as I was raised on it.

I still watch HOTD every now and again in a full-out binge, because it was my first actual anime experience and is danm enjoyable.

I still recall Sailor Moon very fondly, considering that Sailor Moon merch makes up the majority of my merchandise.

Sakura Wars/Sakura Taisen hasn't aged quite as well for me in my head, but it's not like I hate it.

I'm still extremely grateful to a once friend of mine who introduced me to the anime world through Angel Beats some 2 to 3 years ago. Although I don't really think fondly of it, I still see Angel Beats as my stepping stone into an amazing new hobby, which I am very thankful for :)

I was introduced by AOT and honestly I haven't seen a lot of anime better than it. It is probably still in my top 10 and I don't think I will ever enjoy an anime as much as I did when I was first introduced to it.

I actually don't really.... I started watching anime at 2 years old. I was really just anime from the start. I think I feel very much more nostalgic about the anime I was watching from 10 years old to 14 years old and was really discovering myself as a person and in relation to anime.

So Digimon, Yugioh, Inuyasha, and Gravitation. More nostalgic than Sailor Moon, Speed Racer, Battle Athletes, or Robotech.

My first anime was DBZ. I saw when I was about five years old. Back then, it was the best anime I have ever watched. I have since then discovered a lot of great anime, but I will always love it. It was a really exciting part of my childhood and had led me to discover more anime.

It may not be the best out ther but it will always be my favorite.

My first anime were the sci-fi shows Voltron and Thunderbirds 2086.

I still think fondly of them, and consider them what made me a 80s anime fan and a mecha fan, and which introduced me to anime as a whole over time.

My first anime was Gravitation.
Every time I hear the first few notes of the ending song "Glaring Dream", it gives me fuzzy nostalgic feelings. Oh and that bit where he goes "glariiing one wayyy" ;-;

Can't believe I've been watching anime for 10 years...I was only 10 when I watched Gravitation. I thought it was so raunchy back then as well- oh, my mind has been well and truly sullied since then -_-

Tbh I don't remember much about the plot though- all I remember is that Yuki was a complete asshat and Shuichi was an idiot and I thought he was a girl at first ^^"

I'm ashamed to say this but I didn't know the difference between anime and cartoon until 2 years back, so for me my first true "anime" has to be Oregairu, and it still is on number one on my favorites list, so yeah I have nice feelings towards the show.

My first anime was Digimon (Back in the day where I cared even less about this Anime or not thingie), and well... I really love everything about it even today.
But if you want to now about the first anime wihout couting these more commonly known ones (these commonly known even between non-anime viewers), it was Mushishi and I still hold it as one of my favorites. Everytime i hear the OP i get some chills and sing along =b

My firsts, Saint Seiya and the DB series (and Sailor Moon to a lesser degree) were actually the reasons I got to anime. The reasons I watched anime as a child, and the reasons I decided to start watching anime once again nowadays several years later.

I went crazy for them back then, and I go crazy for them now too. And I know this has nothing to do with nostalgia bs, since there are a ton of other shows I loved as a kid too, but that simply provoke me nothing today (if it were by nostalgia itself, I would appreciate them too, and that's not the case). So, I can assure that I love these shows because of what they are, and not because of the period of my life I watched them for the first time. They stand for themselves.

I still have a sweet spot for the original HxH. It was great before New York Shin, amazing while in it, good right after and okay from then and until the end. In a hindsight, of course, since I was really excited by it from the start to the end when I first watched. The anime still holds a special feeling for me nonetheless. Kurapika, man...

Anyway, one of the best thing about it: it didn't reach the fucking trash that is Chimera Ants Arc.

BTW, I watched the whole original and then proceeded to watch 2011. When I catched up with it, the anime was at the point I left the original: just at the start of CA (which the original doesn't cover), with that cliffhanger from his father or something (IIRC). I was so disappointed when I watched the first episode from the arc that immediately after I started reading the manga to see if things would get better (they wouldn't), and I ended up dropping it xD

This. It was a gift from God that the original wasn't able to adapt that stupidity of arc.
