| I can't believe how many people don't like this arc, I think it's crackers! Lol at Zoro trying to tutor Luffy on how to skate and the crowd paying more attention to him finally standing in his rollerblades than the actual game itself XD |

| This episode was a rather fun one and it made me think of the potential for a One Piece tournament arc in the future. I’d imagine it’d most likely be like the first Dragon Ball one, meaning the opponents apart from the most important will be jokes, but it could be fun. It’d be a nice way to get a few one versus one fights going! Plus the Straw Hats may end up fighting each other. Sure, this isn’t a fighting anime, it’s more of an adventure one that has fights happen during the adventures and character exploration and world building, but it’d be a nice switch in tone, especially if it was implemented in a time that made sense. I don’t really understand the format. It seems to me that Sanji and Zoro won’t be playing. If so, that’s weird. I think Zoro would be a good defender but he did express he never skated before so maybe that’s why he isn’t. However, Sanji is a kick master, I feel like he’d be able to use his legs super efficiently and work as a great defender. It feels kinda wrong to have Nami and Usopp going in before considering Sanji and Zoro. In fact Nami or Robin would be a better team leader. Since Robin is such a powerful person I would certainly want her playing, but I think Usopp or Nami would be fine as the leader. Something adorable and amazing that came out of this, something I had not expected at all, was us getting to see Zoro teach Luffy how to skate! I wouldn’t want a single other person to teach Luffy. Zoro and Luffy for life. The duo of all duo’s. Luffy obviously would underestimate how hard skating was and Zoro is such a great swordsman that I can see him being able to teach off observation alone. It’s nice. I’m starting to get scared of Robin having “Hiei syndrome” from Yuyu Hakusho. Meaning Foxy team gets away with more crap than Pilaf and his crew did and it makes them more unlikable because of it. Can’t wait to see Luffy unleash his new skating skills to save his nakama. I didn’t think this episode went on too long unlike how some of the other games did, thoroughly excited for more of this. |
| The Straw Hats losing the first two matches was an unexpected turn of events that wasn't a good look for them at all but that means that they'll have to win the next three matches no matter what. It's a very good thing that Luffy was actually able to skate thanks to Zoro. I can imagine the second round being boring as hell for the spectators since all they've been watching was that wall guy slowly going through two laps while their opponents were just sleeping. |

| Small vent: Sheesh. Could not enjoy this episode one bit. Luffy's overconfidence in getting Chopper back (from the previous ep) kind of ruined it for me. And this was the result of this episode--he doesn't even know how to skate in the first round! That could have been a huge loss for the team if that was it. I wish he could've considered Chopper's feelings a bit more rather than that random old man and Shelly (no offense). This was the stupidest thing Luffy has done so far. I understand that it's highly likely that they'll win this final round and get Chopper back, but just at this moment, he was willing to risk losing Chopper because of his overconfidence. He should've used that confidence to save Chopper first and then save Shelly last. I despise this arc so much... LOL! |

| This arc has been a nice break. I'm laughing a ton and being reminded of why I love these characters so much. Gotta love the crowd's excitement for Luffy standing finally! hahaha |

| Another episode, another round of the Davey Back Fight games and normally I'd have quite a bit to say but at this point it's hard because quite honestly this arc is just plain ol’ bad that I already know what happens in the episode. -We have a round of these games - The Straw Hats participate, hopeful they will win - Foxy and his crew, being the assholes they are, literally sabotage the round just to make sure they win and the Straw Hats lose Basically it's been rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat for this entire arc at this point. I guess the Straw Hats losing the first round of this skating race is…new-ish I guess but not really. I mean considering Foxy and his crew have been very one note antagonists and as interesting as dried up tofu there isn't much I haven't already said about them. Why they feel the need to just drag the rounds to two episodes is just ridiculously tedious on its own. I will say I wasn't expecting Luffy not knowing how to skate for the first round. That was something at least. I felt the little moment of Zorro mentoring Luffy on how to skate was actually pretty sweet in-between the rounds. It just shows the two have become very close since the days of Helmeppo and Captain Morgan. Other than that it's just another bad episode and I just honestly felt bored to tears during it. The rules for this race were weird but at this point I just don't care at this point. Luffy at least knows how to skate at the end, you go, Luffy. |
