| New opening and ending - like! Though it took me some time to be sure the opening was really new since I normally skip it. Sushi-kun reminds me of Rock Lee the wayhe's talking. VA not yet added to the Seiyu-list. Does anybody know? Seeing Hisoka in the ED made me think he is in the arena, too but they don't know it yet because he arrivd before them and made it to the 300s or so with his first match. xD Nice episode. A little quick-paced (can I use this word? Sounds a little odd), but good. I guess even though Killua has more interest in the Ren-technique, it's Gon who's going to need some training and new moves. At this rate, one strong push won't be enough to settle a fight, soon, since the opponents keep getting stronger. |

The old version was the one who took artistic liberties whereas the new version is trying to stay truer to the manga's designs and colors. :) |

While the first arc used Pokemon as an inspirational foundation, this newest arc is more Dragonball-esque. It's reminiscent of the Tenka'ichi Budokai tournament. Gon's opening "push" move especially--that's a direct homage to Goku (in action, anyways--HxH makes it look like a more serious maneuver. Pay attention to how the violence looks in this series). And the Goten / Trunks vibe is definitely supposed to be there. Though I didn't catch the Fist of the North Star reference--nice find.  However, as you may have realized, an oddity pertaining to Gon appeared in this episode. An inkling of something. During his first match, when Gon first pushes his opponent out of the ring, we get this interesting curiosity: Gon looks down at his hand and contemplates his newfound strength. "Was I always this strong before?" It's something new to him. He is in awe of how much his strength has increased. He stares and his mouth contorts into a sort of slight smile in that moment of shock. Gon somewhat likes it. If you remember, he was incredibly humiliated by being forced to confront his weakness in the Fourth Phase against Hisoka. Despite all he suffered throughout the Hunter Exam and despite being a child, Gon only cries when he's insecure about his own strength. Really pay attention to any mention of power and how it pertains to Gon Freecss in this arc.   After Killua decides that they're going to the top floor of Heavens Arena, Gon has an interesting thought.   "Actually, that was my intent from the beginning." Money wasn't the main issue for Gon. Seemingly, it's the act of fighting itself that's more important to him than anything else. |

| I believe Madhouse is going to take Hunter x Hunter passed Greed Island for sure... or else they wouldn't have put a wait on Kaito's character for a later appearance. Also you could see the silhouettes of Ant Arc characters in the Hunter exams introductory opening. I'm more than positive that the anime is going to reach the latest arcs.. |
| Nice episode, I'm loving this anime so far. I think the anime will reach the latest arcs too. And if the manga gets out of its hiatus soon we may have even more arcs to adapt (or even an ending, a man can dream). |

| Well, the current hiatus is much more bearable than the others since we finally got an ending to the Ant Arc. Also, we had 30 published chapters without a pause. And the Election Arc got an ending too. So, even if takes a while, I'm not really annoyed at this hiatus (and after 3-4 hiatuses I don't really care about them). |
| The OP switched to the next verse of the song, and the new parts are animated nicely. The brand new ED is also pretty nice, and is also animated nicely. Gon's push is kind of unbelievable... I thought he'd be fighting with raw technique. :P |

| I like this show because it's easy to watch and the pacing is excellent for a shounen battle anime. This episode lived up to my expectations for it. Gon and Killua dominated but now they are going to training. I hope the training won't take a billion episodes and that they will continue the tower fights in the mean time. |

Like i said earlier you can see Ant Arc Character Silhouettes in the Hunter Exam introductory opening. Kaito's appearance wouldn't have been prolonged either if they weren't gonna show it. As for how much violence, we'll see how they handle one of the fights coming in this arc. Heard from other people that the ratings have been good, so no worries about it being animated. |

The new director doesn't have a cheap mindset, if he were to censor something, he'd censor it, not completely delete it. @Only YS arc and CA had 19 chapters with action scenes so it will take longer actually, I'm also betting that the Election Arc will be 1ch/episode. |
