Loved the episode. I'm barely holding back to not read the manga straight away. Also, that creepy smile Kenya had at the end... ugh. Way too suspicious. Or that's what they want us to think.

Cute episode
Kayo's mother is a piece of shit and greatly contrasts with MC's mother.
The murderer managed to put the blame on Yuuki because he knows about Kayo.
Another red eyed character

I love seeing Satoru's 29 year old reactions to his 5th grade peers, especially that lunch money scene.

Also they should totally have a hidden camera in Hinazuki's place for the proof that her parents are beating her.

...hmm, the ending scene is very concerning.

a pretty episode. satoru's interaction with everyone is still interesting. i am happy we got to see yuuki, and that satoru stood up for kayo. although im still doubting the teacher tbh.

the child abuse scene was awful.

I wonder if the anime will reach the ending before the manga does, the chapters haven't dropped as fast as they use to.

I doubt that. I think they will make a second season or it. At lest I hope they do. Since the manga is ongoing and everything, I hope they don't end the anime prematurely .

Oh, my! I just grinned so hard when I hear that happy "Are you stupid?" from Kayo.. :)
After all that happened that episode.. But really did Kenya already suspect something so fast?

Pretty good episode of BokuMachi.

Oh god, I was aware of the whole next episode scene about the mom, but not to the point I WILL ACTUALLY hate her. Child Abuse is one of those that I hate a lot of times, and where I am it happens a lot... which is why I hate it. But damn it I feel bad for Kayo.

Also, it was beautiful to see the relationship between Kayo and Satoru growing, it just feels very nice.

That final scene of the episode though. I'm curious right now o-o

Another great episode, those visuals at the end were fantastic.

Really enjoyed how they show that even though Satoru went back in time he still acts the same way a bit.

Seeing the abuse scene was absolutely awful, but I really do enjoy how real it felt and was portrayed.

It seems like many characters in this show have red eyes in particular lightning/scenes. Yuuki had it. Kayo's mom and that other guy in the house had it. Kenya obviously had it in the previous episode. Pretty curious. Maybe the teacher would have red eyes under a particular lightning as well? Who knows. But after this episode I feel like I have even more reason to be suspicious of him... just look at these shots:

It might be a red herring though. A misdirection... yea, it might be. These scenes might've played out like this to throw off the viewer - to make them suspicious of the teacher when he's really just innocent.

But I'm thinking, maybe he had something else in those files? Something he wouldn't want anyone else to see? Maybe Satoru was about to see something really bad, but the teacher intervened just in time, took the files, played it off nicely and simply showed him a page with the birthdays. That's kinda the vibe I got from seeing that scene anyway. But again, could be a red herring.

I'm fucking loving this show, that's for sure. It's beautiful.

The episode was just so intriguing, made me have goosebumps the whole 24min... It's just so so good.. we're in ep 3 and the build-up of the show is freakin awesome, the one like previously hits Haruhi Suzumiya / Stein's Gate's......

So hard to wait for another week. Can't stop my urge to need to read the manga..... oh well

Go ahead if you want to have the full story and character interactions, A1 will probably rush this hardcore later on, infact they already messed up episode 1 pretty badly and skipped chapter 3 entirely.

It's anime like this, the ones that invoke all sorts of emotion, that make me happy to be a fan.

I said this anime would be best of season, and episode 3 made that statement more relevant.

I hope something bad happens to Kayo's parents. I wanted to hit my screen when I saw what they did to her.

And the scene at the end made me tear and smile :3

Not quite sure why the teacher would want to confide in the MC when he's just a little kid in his eyes, still a good episode though.

I think Satoru went to the teacher and reported the abuse, instead of the teacher confiding in him.

No season two. The manga is ending the same month the anime is ending. It's getting the manga's original ending.

I REALLY hope that's just rust.
Probably thinking about it too much, but with this anime... who knows.

A few harmless changes from the manga in this episode but it is still being adapted at the perfect pace that I imagined. (Expected the tree ending). I really like all the *cough* red herrings being thrown around. Nobody is going to guess the killer now.

Giving a character that's suspicious red eyes for a short scene isn't the most subtle way of bringing attention to a character you know, A-1. Rather, it's not subtle at all, it's more like they're shoving it into the viewer's face. Same with that last scene between Ken'ya and Yashiro.

It doesn't really give me much hope with how the various clues later are going to be handled. I really hope A-1 doesn't fuck this up.

Though I am a manga reader, I just wanted to say that suspicious scenes like the one at the end of the episode happen all the time in anime and often to mislead the viewers.

People get so hilariously defensive over this show. A few people out of like a hundred dare to break rank and vote less than 5/5 in some thread on some dumb message board where half the commentary is just the same thing over and over and they demand the person present themselves for judgement like they've committed some sort of hate crime.

Oh real distinct commentary and light criticism, fascinating stuff. This director has a track record of taking certain aspects and dramatic scenes over the top at times and this show is halfway to being a J-Drama where that's kind of the norm too so not terribly surprised. See the final episodes of SAO and it's antagonist and the rapey reveal of one of the major characters friends being a dick in the second season. Also adults are pretty much always either subtly evil or outright evil in anime and can only make life more miserable for teenagers who always have the right answers and life philosophies. At the very least the male lead isn't really a teenager so it's not as cut and dry as it could be but the vibe is certainly there.

The happy-childhood moments made me feel warm inside, but the children-can-be-dicks moments were a little to real... a sign of good writing.

I wonder, when Satoru said "I used to come up here all the time to ski", was he speaking as the 10yr-old him or was it his 29yr-old self speaking out loud.

It's always tough to go back and fix something, trying to change outcomes.. puts someone in a state of worry and stress etc... i really hope he succeeds in this, and im loving the pace, and the music as well.. nice to see the main couple's friendship developing slowly.

As for Kayo's mom, really hit a nerve with me, since i experienced this before with one of my friends and the portrayal is really well done, at least so far.

Cant wait to go deeper into the story. Absolutely AotS.
