Andrews getting off with no repercussion is cringe af

Katie is also a clown. It's one thing to be against torturing beasts for fun. But defending a troll that was going berserk after her life is another thing.

when that giant chicken went out in attack spree i was laughing cause you reap what you sow, not so fun if tables turn and the beasts u used for entertainment turn on u and make u in to entertainment, they don't deserve death but they do deserve the terror and cuts they got from that chicken

I am tired of every piece of trash (Andrews) getting their redemption. Why can't we just have trash being trash and getting their karma?

It's probably just me, but this show somehow backfired and made me side with the antagonists because they didn't make the main characters likeable enough. Like I know the antagonists are being comically one-dimensionally mean, but with the show doing such a miserable job making the main characters sympathetic, I was actually finding myself laughing along with the bullies mocking Katie. Then Oliver gives the bullies the moral high ground, he uses physical violence against words. Like wasn't there something said about a strict rule of students not allowed to fight each other outside of a duel? And all they got was detention? What makes Oliver's attack even more unsympathetic than using physical violence against words is Oliver essentially sucker punched the guy, or more accurately shot him in the back when he wasn't looking. Like seriously, this show expects me to like the main characters when they do stuff like that?

Then during the duel, okay it was bad the bystander students (not the bully students) were making the Kobolds who didn't want to fight to fight to the death, sure...but then the Garuda shows up with his message of "how do you like it now" and starts slaughtering everybody with the Kobolds...am I supposed to side with the monsters after that? Like seriously? The Garuda and Kobolds just validated all the anti-monster sentiments as being correct. Don't think so? Even bleeding heart Katie couldn't bring herself to be pro-monster while killing Kobolds all around her. Oh, I guess she can't say she's so sure monsters won't kill somebody, and take responsibility for it's actions now like what she said about the troll.

And what makes matters even worse for what the show was supposed to be trying to do, they made Richards seem like a better character than the main characters with his "redemption". Like I know they went hard on making him looks like a pathetic coward, but they actually gave him better character growth than the main characters so far. He was a coward, but he worked through his cowardice to become a little bit better of a person. It wasn't much, but when the main characters themselves have so less, it actually made me like him better than main characters. Yeah, maybe I'm just weird for it to play out that way for me, but what I'm seeing from the commenters who actually like the main characters is they hate this redemption of Richard, so even if you like the main characters like how the show is supposed to make you feel, the show still screwed up.

What a hilarious train-wreck. The production values of the animation is still good though, and I got to admit when Nanao decapitated the Garuda, it was pretty bad ass. Somebody should go ask Katie if she would agree, LOL. I'm sure she's going to hypocritically go back to her pro-monster ways with that troll like nothing happened. I get that troll seemed to be manipulated into a rampage, but as far as anybody else knows it rampaged by itself, so the anti-monster sentiment against it is correct given what is known, and Katie's position of just siding with it for no good reason is incorrect.

Some interesting developments here with Andrews, who's being tormented by the weighty expectations of his family name. Fortunately, he still opted to help out fighting the "Garuda" in the end. The fight itself was choreographed well too.

That said, much like the troll that was put into the parade earlier, I'm not sure how or why this Garuda was present in the monster pens. Surely it wouldn't be an easy feat to imprison a "divine beast familiar" like that.

WTF is wrong with the autour?

you have a samurai who killed tons of people, and when she is insulted she just backs off insted of slaying all the human type monsters? I understand the others having issues not making difference between monsters and human, but you can talk about monster being human type, but humans are not seeing as the real monster despite everything that happened in the previus episodes?

If anything, them killing all thoes monster would solve most of the issues in the world. After all, do you realise this are the type of people who want weak to be killed? Do you realise they are exactly the type who want to see humans killed? No? ah yes, because they are human and not monster, because only monster are hunting, hurting, and killing humans, that's why it's just to kill the monster.... so yeah, again, the samurai killing all the human type monster, would have saved the live of tons of people

Yet the authour? Oh let me make this honarable samurai, she killled tons of people so there is no hesitation, let me make a sence where she is souting because her anger limit was over the type... so... what to do with this anger? Ah, I know, nothing, let's just let her walk away and some random monster will do justice.... wtf????

If anything, they should have joined that monster, with the pro monster gril comunicating, and then, asking for her parents and more, to step in and to show the world how INHUMAN thoes human type monster are.

But noooooo, let's kill monsters because they dare harming human type monster who where torturing, amuzing, mocking, enjoying, seeking the death, desire, wish, and the list goes on, for monster to be killed

You have an activist, and enranced samura, human type monster, and your continue the plot by adding a monster to magically be the bad guy and take all the blame when that monster had every right to do so. After all, did you see anyone in that room, who agreed even for a moment with the samurai girl?

Rip noble Creature. If only he started 10 - 20 minutes later, when MC and co's party left. After all, at no point it did anything wrong, it even when out of it's way to informe them what their sin is. You essentially had monster who tryied to free themself from human type monster, and where stopped by humans... or what, did any of the human type monster step in to help in the fight, in any way or form? yeah, sure, as the samurai said, there where there just to watch from safty as other die.

Man I amuse myself how they show the studens being worried about others aftr the battle, when it's exactly thos type of human monster who don't care about others then themself. But hey, how else can you justify that the monsters needed to die because the human type monster are human

JC Staff can cook when they want to, damn that fight with the Garuda looked amazing, and not only that, the fight was just super cool too, Nanao really is a beast of a fighter, she needed help here and there but the vast majority of that was all her. I also gotta commend bird man, I wasn’t cheering for him but he was a bad mf, whoever set this situation up sent their best because damn was he strong (my suspicion is on that fellow student that helped Katie with the troll, I think her name is Vera). And wow they actually went and redeemed Andrews, I like that things played out this way for him, it woulda been easy for the author to have him get killed here but instead he’s getting character development, very nice to see, I hope he changes for the better after this.

Now despite all my praise, I did find the bullying bit to be kinda cheesy, like it doesn’t get more “give me your lunch money” than that lol, I don’t think we needed another example of Katie being a wimp either, but the rest of the episode was so fire that I can forgive it. Massacre of the students was also fun to watch, even if they were using monsters for sport I can’t say I wanted them to die, but it also helped in not feeling bad for them when their operation blew up in their faces lol, you get what you deserve I suppose.

And with that I can say I’m not gonna be taking anymore week breaks from this series going forward, I had some rewatches to get done before the spring season and kinda focused those down, but that’s all done now, I can finally focus back on this show and whatever else I decide to watch.

@TheColonel76 It was a bit unclear, but she would've never beaten the garuda by herself. Anime didn't mention how Oliver disrupted garuda's spells, it wasn't super clear in the novel either, but Chela described it well next episode
. Basicaly Nanao is amazing, but she wouldnt' even last a minute against Garuda by herself. The other part that was completely omitted by the anime and Chela too, didn't mention it, was that Garuda was extremely weakened, in order to be controlled by a mage, it needed to be weakened. "The cruelly plucked patches of feathers were proof of this". Garuda's wings are attended by 2 elements, fire and wind, but he was weakened, and lost the ability to use fire element, as novel mentioned, without it they'd be long wiped out. Garuda is known as a divine beast, extremely scary. Other than their 2 elements, their bodies are also extremely sturdy and the spells were blocked by its wind barrier.

Garuda's fight was one of my favs in the anime, not to mention the part in the OP where Nanao charges at it, really cool.
"(my suspicion is on that fellow student that helped Katie with the troll, I think her name is Vera)"

They changed Andrews scenes a lot, like he didn't fucking cry, that still triggers me lol. Also made him look like the main bully when he wasn't. Basically he felt insulted by Oliver and his pride hurt. Also he felt like Nanao and Oliver were stealing the spotlight from him. He wanted to steal the spotlight from them and prove he is stronger(never mentioned in the novel, but that's what I concluded). Doing cobolt hunt is despicable, but I don't hold it against him since that's how mages are, it's a normal thing for them. But he never bullied anyone.
Btw, noone was killed in that fight, it lookedl ike there were multiple deaths, but it was confirmed later that noone died, saying how mages are surprisingly sturdy. And hence why they couldn't report it to the school, as there were no casualties.

I see what you mean about bullying, there was only one part of it that I remember, in the class, where Oliver ended up snapping.

@Hirugiku Well I already figured Nanao couldn’t beat the Garuda on her own but I didn’t realize how many other things were at play to put her in a position where she has a fighting chance, the Garuda being weakened makes a lot of sense actually. Also I’m glad you liked the Garuda fight, I thought it was incredibly awesome too, so the anime didn’t let you down completely at least lol.

Ah thanks for the info on Adrews, that clears up a lot of what was going on with him, kinda weird they changed his scenes tho, I thought the crying was a good way to show how emotional he was about the situation but yeah I don’t get the change if it wasn’t in the LN. And yeah I think it was revealed in the next episode or something that no one was killed, which is pretty insane but not a big deal.
