I remember a set of names and extinguish another set in the process...

I think our interior has it's limits...not in a metapshysical sense though. Proverbially we progress much like a Novel.

I suck big on names.
It's even worse because I have a huge family and whenever I meet some cousin or aunt from god knows where, the first thing they ask is:
You remember me? I knew you from since you were so small.
-_-

I do recognize them but I can't remember their names for the life of me.

Yes. Stick me in a classroom with ten kids for a year and I still won't remember half their names.

I'm bad at remebering names.
I'm a bit better at remembering nicknames though, those somehow get better associated.

If I only need to remember a few names at a time, then it's fine. A decently large group of people at once is pretty much impossible, more so when their names sound foreign to my ears.

There's this one girl in my group, and I can never remember her name. Maybe I should just call her bro.

Extremely, I hardly use them any way and in fact I would be unconcerned with if people just changed them or every one addressed me with a different name, which happens actually.

Names are only part of people's identity for idiotshumans. Intonation identifies who addresses whom.

There's a big difference between forget and err. I do remember people's names. I just call them by another name xD, but I know how they names are :)

Hell yes. I have to strain to remember even the names of my favorite characters of all time. You can probably figure out how I do with cousins and the like.

If I'm with one person alone I would probably remember their name as long as I interact with them a little, but in a classroom or work setting where there are a bunch of people, I am terrible at remembering names.

I'm bad with names. Very bad. When being introduced to people in a group, names go straight over my head.

Though oddly enough, not knowing people's names hasn't been too hard for me. When I talk to someone, they know who they are. I can openly talk with a person in class for an entire year and never know their name.

I can remember the names of the people who I talk to almost regularly. Other than that, I couldn't remember the names of half of my class in my university days xD Some of them come up to me and talk and avoid showing that I don't his/her name...

If I know the person irl or have a face to connect with the name, it's no problem at all.

Depends on the name, if its super common and there is someone I know of with a similar name then I will most likely get people's names mixed up. Remembering names isn't the hard part for me, its much harder to match the name to the person at times.

Pretty good at it as long I've talked to them for a little. But just an introduction and then bouncing without saying another word wouldn't leave anything for me to remember them by.

Yes. I have trouble remembering my own name sometimes.

I have more ease remembering nicknames than real names. I also have trouble associating names within a group when the people are very similar in the way they look. There is a group of 4 girls in my class that I have no idea of what their names are because they are all clones and I can't distinguish them facially. >.<

So I usually refer to people by "hey you". Also, since I spend my social imprinting years in absolute solitude it freaks me out when people call me by my own name and I have trouble calling them by their names as well. For closer people I usually replace their names by "son", "dear" or "man/woman". I have trouble remembering the names of my best friends, because I know them for some mysterious nickname they don't remember themselves (but that I still remember)

..i probably have the worst memory, especially when it comes to trivial stuff like schoolmates,gossip,passersby.....i dont take the time to note little things around me,and i only remember things that stood out or those that are really important like schoolwork (nerdy much? ^^)..but i'll change....eventually... :)

That depends, really.

If they are striking, then I have no problem; however, if they're pretty average and/or quiet, I often forget as soon as they leave my presence for more than a few hours.

Whether or not my relationship with them is something I perceive as important is also a relevant factor.

My monkey circle is pretty small and its closed so if I don't talk to you at least 3 times a week there is no way I can remember a name.(Monkey circle is the idea that we are inherit a number of certain number of people that you can view as being actually human and anyone past this number becomes difficult to remember unless another person in your monkey circle is removed. For example if someone in my monkey circle was injured I could emotionally sympathize with them but if they where outside my circle that I don't emotionally view as a human being I wouldn't really care. )

So bad. Coming back from summer school, I almost forgot everyone in my grade's names. And i've been going to school with them for 4 years straight now. Plus, I grew up with a number of them.
