Plenty of time to rewatch before it comes back, but I am glad, hope the manga goes on for a lot longer too.

Well what i hoped would happen happened.
IDC if they wait a year for before they start up again, I will wait.
The first couple of episodes where Season 5 will kick off will be epic in all ways and whenever they decide to start animating more episodes there will surely be even more epic stuff Sorachi will have made up.
All hail Sorachi and the Eli-Director.

Hmm Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei has a good lot of comedy, enjoyable characters too, but not in the league of Gintama :(
Welcome to the NHK was pretty awesome too.

Not by Rumbel they're not, as far as I know. Im sticking with them is because they are the best, in no hurry to finish the series anyway and also they give you all the cultural references so you understand the jokes a bit more and to the enjoyment!

Maybe for the North American market, Gintama has a huge fanbase in Japan, their promotions and market for their movie has been stronger than most anime series ever.

What's considered good to you? Naruto/Bleach?
200+++ eps of chasing the same bad guy or trying to save a girl?
Even the episodic stories from Gintama are good, some stupid, others touching, something you never seen from the typical shounen anime.

Ah, you probably shouldn't be saying that here.
Firstly, you'll attract trolls.
Secondly, have you watched the anime? I'm guessing not.

Seeing that it's popularity is among the 100's, it's rather successful compared to other anime, which have a lower popularity.
I'm guessing that you've considered this as a crap series, just because the animation sucks ass.
Since I've never watched Gintama, I'm just guessing that it has gotten it's popularity for its plot, since that part of the anime makes it up for the poor animation the anime has.

Maybe you'll change your mind after watching Gintama. Who knows? :)

Gintama has poor animation? That's news to me. Maybe you should actually watch the show first. It starts off with pretty average animation but greatly improves later on, especially in the story arcs.

first of all the animation isnt bad at all if you compare it to other long running shounen anime, and the reason people love it so much (myself included) is mainly because of the very unique characters and a type of humor that exists in no other anime.
plus: the action is awesome and you can also shed a tear or two while watching gintama if your sensetive enough.
and there are other reasons but i just urge you to watch it, cause i dont see how anyone in their right mind could hate this series.

+1 I've never seen another long running JUMP series have so many touching moments. I don't know what's this about crap animation, but it's a lot better than similar "shounen" stuff.

Gintama seems a lot more mature than stuff like Naruto and Bleach though, so if people are in that fandom they may not like it. The majority of the cast are in their 20s or so and they make a lot of references to things in Japanese culture, A LOT of people will probably not understand unless they're well versed in J culture-songs, dramas, manga, anime, tradition and so forth, a lot of their references aren't mainstream either.

That's a pretty narrow-minded approach. I love Clannad to death and would love to be able to say the same thing about it, but I think it's been made quite obvious that Clannad just doesn't fit everyone's tastes. Me? I watched 25 episodes of Gintama and couldn't bring myself to watch anymore. Yeah, I pretty much hate this series, and I am pretty confident that I am within my "right mind" as well.

I'm not trying to insult the series or anything, I'm just saying that you shouldn't act like everyone will like a series. Hopefully people don't take this post the wrong way.

It took my three tries to get into Gintama, each many months apart. While this series is good, it seems so pathetic to get into. If it weren't for the high score, I wouldn't even bother at all.

I generalize no one. I am talking about those fellas rating Gintama with 1/10, producing fake accounts for the same reason, ranting in Gintama-threads how the show has less viewers than "crap series" and wandering arround with a Clannad Avatar.

Very possibly, if they throw out an episode per week like they've been doing *it seems* for a little while, then they should be caught up in 16 months approx, but saying that; they've picked up 2 more projects (though the team members are different per project) but their track record for releases is horrible, as much as I love their releases, the quality they were throwing out when I decided to stop them (I think around 110-120) was dropping with so many mistakes.
Saying that, I found no problem with horriblesub releases, they did a really nice job.

I tried starting my #4 re-watch and stopped at 20, oh the distractions xD

They're coming into a "gintama will be back" thread and commenting on how they don't understand how it's so great, they're obviously looking for a response so there's no need to give in to them, all us Gintama fans know why we love it, it's #1 in our hearts :'D

Rosario to Vampire is serialized in Shounen Jump, I can tell you now that 90% of people don't think it's "shounen"
