Not too interested in the romance sub-plot, much more interested in the badminton side of things. Reminds me a bit of Welcome to the Ballroom in terms of the MC being undersized relative to his competition, but absolutely determined to get to #1. Thought he'd be much more broken up after losing in the 1st round of the prelims.

The fireworks festival where sparks of love are also a test in and of itself, it's proving harder than most for Hina to stand out towards the boy she's been crushing on for so long, making sure that he notices her. At least Taiki calling her cute, it's a form of acknowledgement from the dense boy. Even Chinatsu is also at the festival with her friends, though tending to a lost child together does take up significant time, when Hina could've been snibbed by Ito in the same way. To think that Haryu's girlfriend Karen is a thing of beauty, both her and Haryu are honestly a great power pairing of a relationship, though with Karen's cheekiness seeing both Taiki and Chinatsu with a lost kid (that technically is like a family together).

Well, good for the little kid Yume that her mother is found, and even managing to dress Chinatsu up a bit. And within the midst of all these, Taiki left Hina for quite long enough to have her own entertainment, though there's always a next time. Until then, the Nationals are coming up, with Haryu going for gold, and Taiki wanting to do better.

At long last, Chinatsu getting the point straight that there's the love triangle between herself, Taiki and Hina, but that for things as they are, only jealousy and lies will continue plaguing their relationship, if focused on love.

It's still sad for Hina she ended up watching the fireworks alone for a moment since Taiki was with Chinatsu helping this little girl, but now Chinatsu really thinks that Taiki is going out with Hina, I think they just need to have a proper conversation together...

Hina looks SOOO cute in her Yukata in this episode man she looks amazing in anything I swear😍😍😍😍

And here we have it…the miscommunications haha idk why but I find funny how Chinatsu is gaslighting herself into thinking that Taiki lied to her so that she can dictate whatever feelings she has for Taiki about whether or not he’s going out with Hina or not, if bro says he’s not then she’s gonna like him but if it’s the opposite she’s gonna like him a friend only. Now why she gotta make this predicament up for my guy?😭🤦🏽‍♂️😭😭

Here's the trick to it all, and I might be oversimplifying things, the first person to be completely honest wins. Of course, we wouldn't have this series if it were that simple. And, being a teenager with all these hormones is not simple. I just hope this doesn't end in heartbreak for all.

@metatron13 if it worked like that nobody would ever get rejected and there would be no reason to not be honest in the first place. It's not this series, it's just reality.

This Ito guy is a real douche, to anyone it would look like Taiki and Hina were on a date and yet he obviously tries to muscle in on it because he has a crush on Hina.

Hina is trying hard to get Taiki's attention, and while relying on him to notice her feelings is working slowly, it’s not enough because he’s so oblivious. I’ve realized that Taiki doesn’t really pay much attention to anyone besides Chinatsu, so Hina needs to go all out and confess directly.

As for Chinatsu, she admitted herself that she’s clumsy and awkward, which makes her confused about her feelings for Taiki. If he just showed clear interest in her, I think that might be what she needs to sort out her emotions.

As always, the studio is doing an amazing job with this adaptation, and it’s hard to pick a favorite episode.

Holyyy shit man this was soo hard to watch, like i really just don't care about chinatsu and for her to feel bad about IF taiki and hina are together was BS she friendzoned taiki and acted all high and mighty when she said she wouldn't allow shit to get any closer.

The continuation of the summer fireworks festival episode. We can see Chinatsu is starting to have feelings for Taiki.

Chinatsu is a bit disappointed to find this when Taiki mentions he will go with a group.

We know how they feel! Of course, Hina likes Taiki. She wants to go to the fireworks with him alone again next year. She loved that he said she looked cute. She really likes him. Taiki is oblivious, and thinks they're there as friends. Poor Hina. Chinatsu saw Taiki with Hina, but Taiki helped Chinatsu find a girl's mom. They ran into her old friend, and Haryu's girlfriend. She knows what's up. In a flashback, it appears that Chinatsu does think about Taiki that way, if you know what I mean. Next day, as they're at practice, Taiki's taking a nap, and Chinatsu finds him. She wanted to ask him if he and Hina are dating. She assumes they are. She likes him. We now know that she actually thinks of him that way.

This episode started out cute, but then the situation with the love triangle was laid out clearly for the viewer. Hina likes Taiki, but knows Taiki likes Chinatsu. Chinatsu likes Taiki, but thinks he and Hina are dating. Taiki likes Chinatsu, and has no idea both girls like him. Oh boy.

So, Hina must have told whatshisface that likes her to go away, there at the festival. Even if she was super nice about it, and didn't let on that she was there with Taiki, he's bound to take that personally. I wonder if that will come back to bite them in the ass later.

These kids desperately need to learn to talk about their feelings.

Way to make fmc more hateable.
Girl you're the one who set those stupid boundaries for no fuck reason.
And now you're getting jealous and wants to know if he dating another girl!?!
For God's sake, make up your mind.

This episode was *so* complicated, what is this?!

I always believe that in 25-episode anime, episode 12 or 13 is a major turning point in the story. But here, things just got *even* more complex and exciting!

I don’t even know what to write about, Shinatsu finally showing her emotions? Or the sadness of both Hina and Shinatsu? And Taiki… he seems completely unaware of both their feelings!

Hmm… let’s head to episode 13 and unravel all these mysteries!

Thank God nothing happened when Hina was alone. She did well rejecting the guy that wanted to join her. Was so worried that we'd see Hina sitting with those guys ruining her fun when Taiki gets back.

Haryuu's girlfriend is beautiful wow. So Chinatsu actually likes Taiki, even if its just a little bit. Though misunderstandings are piling up on her at the moment, so I wonder how this is going to turn out. It'd be great if Taiki makes his move now to clear up the misunderstandings.

I wonder what would Chinatsu do if she knew he was going with Hina?
I dislike this behaviour.. when they only want a guy when there i other girl, but never when a guy is alone.. women are so stupid ;p

I hate it when anime/manga that I enjoyed ends, especially when there could be much longer plot and when I love main heroine :P

From the perspective of Chii, she sounds logical but considering the fact that she's pushing the guy away she's wrong. The guy slow as he may be, he's proactively hitting her but he's being patient since she got her career but Chii is just being selfish. What should I do if someone is awkward? I am like hella awkward irl too but I won't fuck up shit like that and I expect people to be at least better than me in that since I severely lack communication skills.
Hina on the other hand is just friendzoning herself. She should be a bit more clear but she's not doing so. Instead playing roundabout and playing "safe", which here means just getting soft rejected. She should trust herself more, she should value herself more. Be clear about what she want. I don't want to sound manipulative but the mc is clearly rejected by Chii so she has a big opening, if she plays it well, she can win him.
Also, mc bf... I just love him, he's the best character for me in the entire series. He knows what's up and does things well and decisively. But as much he likes to value both his friends, mc and hina, I think he shouldn't make his life complicated. But that may lead to a really mess situation too. So playing safe...? Something I would totally do, but I just don't like- actually, I do. I am watching this series afterall in the middle of the night. Let's say love-and-hate relationship, yeah, this sounds more correct.
Anyways, really good show overall. Author is handling this really well and animation is 10/10. I just wish more anime were animated this well... ahem... TBATE... ahem-ahem....

Favorite episode until now. Yeah, the setting always supports and more characters in yukatas would have been even nicer, but i enjoyed how everything was handled and the quest for the lost kid's mother didn't even feel forced.
